1. MessagefromKeySchoolBodiesPRINCIPALLauraRobertsInternationalFootballSchoolcontinuestoestablishitselfasagreatexampleofaninnovativeIndependentSchool.Studentsareprovidedwithopportunitiesandchallengesthatencouragethemtogrowanddevelopacademically,socially,physically,emotionallyandcreatively.OurfirstYear12successfullyfinishedtheiracademicprogramattainingtheHigherSchoolCertificatequalification.Thiswasamajorachievementforthe15studentswhocompletedYear12.InOctoberof2015,16studentsfromYears7and8travelledtoJapan.ThisculturaltripwasorganisedbyJapaneseteacherSuzanneJeffree.RepresentingthecityofGosford,thegroupwaswelcomedbyGosford’ssistercity,Edogawa.AswellasexperiencinguniqueJapaneseculture,footballcoachWillPirizledthestudentsastheyplayedfootballgameswithalocalhighschoolfromEdogawaandalocalfootballclubinTokyo.Thistripwashighlysuccessfulandwelookforwardtomakingthisabiennialevent.Otherhighlightsinclude:

• ThecontinueddevelopmentofourOutdoorEducation-allstudentsparticipatedinonecampand/ortrek.

• MadelineBowronandDominicJohnsrepresentedtheschoolforthefirsttimeintheNSWLegacyJuniorPublicSpeakingAwardatNewcastleHighSchool.

• StudentsinYear8participatedintheCentralCoastMentalHealthForum.• BrainstormsProductionsvisitedtheschooltoperform.• AttendingperformancesatNAISDA.• HostingpracticumstudentsfromtheUniversityofNewcastle,Universityof

ArmidaleandAvondaleCollege. • OutdoorEducationProgramforYears3–12• TheendofyearCelebrationEveningheldattheImpactCentre,Erina

Iwouldliketoacknowledgethecontinuedprofessionalism,dedicationandcommitmentofourteachingstaff.Teamteachingrequiresanadherencetoaccountabilityinallaspectsofteachingandlearning.OurteachingstaffcontinuetowriteengagingteachingandlearningprogramsthatdemonstrateadeepunderstandingoftheBOSTESrequirements.IwouldalsoliketoacknowledgetheFootballDevelopmentProgramledbyDanielBarrettandtheTennisDevelopmentProgramledbyGregBrownlow.Thecoachingstafffrombothprogramsstrivetoconsistentlychallengeourstudentswitha

syllabusthatdeliversavarietyofoutcomes.Finally,Iwouldliketoacknowledgetheworkoftheadministrationteamwhohaveworkedtirelesslytostreamlinemanyadministrativeaspectsoftheschool.Inmanyinstancesmembersofthisteamarethefirstportofcall.Theyareintegraltoensuringthesmoothdailyrunningoftheschoolandandtheirsupportisappreciatedinallareasoftheschool.Thisreportreflectstheworkandachievementsofourschool,staffandstudents.Icertifythattheinformationhereinistheresultofaschoolself-evaluationprocessandisabalancedandgenuineaccountoftheschool’sachievementsandareasfordevelopment.

2015hasseenInternationalFootballSchoolcontinuetogrowandmature.Fromtheinceptionofourschoolwehavesetouttocreateanenvironmentwhereourstudentsandstaffarenurturedandinspiredeveryday.Weconsistentlyandresolutelychallengeeachothertobethebestthatwecanbeandwillcontinuefollowingthismaximaswemoveinto2016andintothefuture.During2015ourstrategicfocuswastorefineourfootballprogram,stronglyestablishthetennisprograminournewlocationatGosfordTennisCentreandcontinuetodriveworld’sbestpracticeintheclassroom.OurteachingstaffandstudentswerechallengedastohowtoutilisethephilosophybehindProject-basedlearningtocreateanenvironmentthatenabledthemtobethebesttheycanbe.Wesawsomegreatimprovementsinourlearningspaceswithourteachingstaffcontinuingtoenhancethephysicalspaces.Oneoftheschool’svisionssinceinceptionwastotakepartinanumberofcommunityoutreachprogramsensuringthatmembersofthecommunity,whosechildrenattendotherschools,couldgainaccesstohighqualityprogramsandalsotakepartinprofessionallyrun,funandenjoyablesportingprograms.Twooftheseinitiatives,namelytheIFSFutsalClubandGosfordTennisCentrecontinuedtogrowinnumbersduring2015andthefeedbackhasbeenoverwhelminglypositive.OurIFSFutsalclubgrewtosuccessfullyoperateoutofbothNiagaraParkStadiumandWoyWoyPeninsulaLeisureCentre,whichsawmorethan200younglocalaspiringfutsalplayerstakepartinaweeklyfutsalcompetition.OurfutsalclubalsoparticipatedintheFootballNSWFutsalStateLeaguecompetitionsthatranoverthe2015-16summerperiod.GosfordTennisCentregrewfromjustover200membersinJanuary2015tomorethan400membersbytheendofthatyear.Theschool,throughitsuniqueoffering,continuestodemonstratehowsportand

educationcanworktogethertodelivergreatoutcomesforourstudents.Ourteaching,coachingandadminstaffworkcloselytogethertoprovidetheseoutcomesforourstudentsandwefeelveryblessedtolookbackandobserveanothersuccessfulyear.DIRECTOROFSPORTJulieDolanThedevelopmentsinthefootballandtennisprogramsin2015havematchedtheexponentialgrowthintheschool’sstudentnumbers.TheInternationalTennisSchoolcelebrateditsfirstyearoperatingoutoftheGosfordTennisCentreinSeptember2015withnumbersgraduallybuilding,communityprogramsbeinginitiatedandhostingofnationaltournaments.

ThefootballprogramplacedIFSsquadsintheCentralCoast,NewcastleandSydneywintercompetitionsundertheKariong,KahibahandBerowraClubbanners.

KangaCup,aneventthathasbeenonourtournamentcalendarsincetheinceptionoftheschool,sawarecordfifteenteamsattendandthreeteamssecurethirdplaceintheiragegroups.

Wealsoestablishedapresenceontheinternationalstagewithfourofourunder12KangaCupplayersselectedtotakepartinaprestigious‘invitationonly’tournamentinSouthKorea.TheInternationalChallengeCupbetweenAustraliaandNewZealandisinitssecondyearnowandwashostedbytheAllStarsinZealandinDecember2015.WehadacontingentofstudentstraveltoJapanforaculturaltour.ThisincludedsomegamesagainstlocalJapanesefootballteams.

ManagementundertookareconnaissancetouroftheUKandEurope,wheretheleadingprofessionalacademieswevisitedconfirmedthatthemodelofourschoolisattheforefrontofyouthdevelopment.

DanielBarrettwasappointedtothepositionofHeadofFootballin2015andhasbeguntomakestridesforwardwiththefootballprogram.

DamienBrownhasbuiltwhatbeganasafutsaltrainingprogramatNiagaraParkStadiuminTerm3,2013intoourfirstfutsalcompetitionwithover70playersinTerm4ofthesameyear.2015sawthisgrowtotwolocalcompetitionsoperatingallyearroundwithover160playerstakingpart.

TheIFSFutsalClubcompetedinitssecondyearoftheFNSWFutsalStateLeagueandtheroleofFutsalCo-ordinatorwashandedovertoAndrewPeacheywithaviewtofurtheringitsgrowth.

IFSintroducedatraineeprogramwiththreeofourYear12graduatingclasstakingonpositionsattheschoolin2016.Theirskillsincoachingandmanyother

associatedfieldswillbedevelopedoveratwo-yearperiod.

2015allowedformuchreflectioninthefootballandtennisdevelopmentprogramsandwelookforwardtocontinuingtodeliverprogramsthatenableourstudentstocontinuetogrow.

2.ContextualInformationAbouttheSchool

InternationalFootballSchoolcombinesstudents’passionfortheirsportwithanengagingeducationprogram.Uniquefeaturesofourschoolinclude

• Studentparticipationinatwo-hourtrainingdevelopmentprogramineitherfootball(soccer)ortenniseveryday.

• Studentparticipationinfourhoursofteachinglearningeveryday.• Studentslearninstagegroupsinflexibleandopenlearningspaces.• Skillsaredevelopedincollaboration,communication,criticalthinkingand

creativity.• Thecreationofauniqueschoolculturewherestudentshaveasharedpassion

andlike-mindedattitudetowardstheirlearningandtraining.ThemandatorycurriculumasoutlinedbytheNSWBoardofStudiesistaughtinYears3-10.InYear11/12studentscompletetheHSCviathecompressedmodel,whichmeansstudentscompletethreesubjectsperyear.Weareexcitedattheinceptionofkindergartenin2016.Withcontinuedstudentgrowth,strategiestoimproveliteracyandnumeracyskillscontinuetobeafocus.Strategiesin2015included:

• CreatingStageTeamstoensureconsistencyinthedeliveryofcontentandskills.

• Everyteacherisresponsibleforliteracyandnumeracyacrossallkeylearningareas.

• IncreasingspecialistteachersinEnglish,MathematicsandScienceinthehighschool.

PURPOSE

InternationalFootballSchoolisaco-educational3-12independentSchooloperatingwithinthepoliciesoftheBoardofStudies.TeachingandEducationalStandards(BOSTES).AllstudentsatInternationalFootballSchoolplayeitherfootballortennis.Thisisacompulsoryrequirementandmustbeundertakensatisfactorily.AllstudentsseekingenrolmentatIFSandtheirparentsareexpectedtosupporttheacademicandsportinggoalsoftheSchool.StudentsareexpectedtoactconsistentlywiththeSchool’sethosandcomplywiththeSchoolrulesandexpectationsasspecifiedintheIFSHandbook.

EnrolmentPROCEDURE

1. EnquiryFormParentsarerequiredtofillan“EnquiryForm”online.TheSchoolAdministrationstaffwillorganiseasuitabletimeforstudentstoattendaTrialDay,anacademicassessmentday.AttheTrialDaythefollowingdocumentationisrequired:

• Copyofchildren’sBirthCertificate,passportorAustralianCitizenship• 2mostrecentschoolreports• Copyofchildren’sImmunisationHistoryStatement• Additionalmedicalreports/healthcareplans(ifapplicable)• GuardianshipandCustodyOrder(ifapplicable)

The“EnquiryForm”doesnotguaranteeaplaceintheschool.

SiblingsofchildrenalreadyattendingtheSchoolwhohavedemonstratedongoingsupportfortheethosandvaluesoftheSchoolwillneedtoparticipateinatrialday.

2. TrialDayAllpotentialstudentsparticipateinaTrialDay.Onthisday,studentsparticipateinatrainingsession.Thepurposeofthetrainingsessionistoassessskillsandstudent’sabilitytorespondtocoachingandfeedback.Followingthissession,allstudentscompleteanageappropriatePATTESTforNumeracyandLiteracy.Studentsarealsorequestedtocompleteapersuasivewritingtask.StudentsinYears5–10alsositanabstractreasoningtest.

PATTESTING:Studentswhoscore3orbelowintheirPatTestingareassessedcasebycase.Ameetingwiththestudent’sparents/carersisrecommendedintheseinstancessoaninformeddecisioncanbemadeintermsofofferingastudentaplaceatthe

3. OffersandWaitingListParentsarenotifiediftheirchildrenhavebeenofferedaplacebytheSchoolEnrolmentOfficer.

IftheSchoolcannotmakeanofferbecauseplacesarenolongeravailable,applicantsareautomaticallyplacedontheWaitingListuntilapositionbecomesavailableforthecurrentacademicyear.

Applicantswhodonotgainaplacemayre-applyanother“EnquiryForm”forthefollowingyear.

4. AcceptanceofOfferandEnrolmentContractOnacceptingtheofferofaplaceattheSchool,parentsmustfillan“EnrolmentContract”,whichincludestheSchools“TermsandConditionsofTrade”(policiesaresubjecttochange)andpaythenon-refundable“EntranceFee”tuition.

Failuretoreplyoracceptanofferofplace,withinthespecifiedtimemayresultinthepositionbeingwithdrawn.FamiliesarerequestedtoinformtheSchooliftheynolongerwishtoapplyforaplaceorremainonthewaitinglist.

PleasenotethatiffamiliessupplyincorrectinformationontheEnquiryFormorEnrolmentContract,theirapplicationmaybedeclinedoranoffermaybewithdrawn.

5. StudentMedicalRecords/HealthCarePlanParentsmustinformtheSchoolontheEnrolmentContractabouttheirchildren’smedicalcondition.TheSchoolmayrequestadditionalmedicalreports,e.g.speechtherapist,diabetes,asthmareportsetc.toensurethatstudentsaresupportedintheirHealthCarePlanandmanagementofprescribedmedications(asthma,epilepsy,diabetesetc.).

6. ImmunisationUnderthePublicHealthAct2010andthePublicHealthRegulation2012,primaryschoolmustrequestandrecordimmunizationstatusofeachenrolledchild.TheImmunisationHistoryStatementwhichisissuedbytheAustralianChildhoodImmunisationRegister(ACIR)isrequiredasproofofimmunizationstatusforenrolmentatschoolundertheNSWPublicHealthAct2010.ThePersonalHealthRecord(BlueBook)isnotacceptableevidence.

Ifastudentisnotimmunized,theSchoolmayrequestparentstokeeptheirchildrenhomeifthereisanoutbreakofavaccine-preventablediseaseintheSchool.

7. SchoolFees• Schoolfeesarenon-refundable• MustbepaidpriortothebeginningofthenextSchoolterm• AnyextensionofpaymenttimemustberequestedfromtheBusinessManager

inwriting• Wheretherearerepeatedinstancesoflatepayment,theSchoolhastherightto

requirefeestobepaidinadvancepriortothebeginningoftheSchoolterm.Ifnotsopaid,theSchoolmayrequirethestudenttobewithdrawn.

8. ContinuedEnrolmentItisassumedthatstudentsatIFS/TwillprogressfromyeartoyearthroughouttheSchool,howeverprogressionisnotautomaticnoriscontinuousenrolmentguaranteedbytheofferofaplace.

9. ProbationaryEnrolment,SuspensionandTerminationofEnrolment

TheSchoolreservestherighttoterminateanenrolmentwheretheparentshavenotdeclaredorhavewithheldknowninformationpertainingtotheirchild.

Failuretomeettheabove-mentionedexpectationsorbreachofrulesmayleadtoprobationaryenrolment,suspensionorterminationofenrolment.

Iftheschoolbelievesamutuallybeneficialrelationshipoftrustandco-operationbetweenparentsandSchoolhasbrokendown,theSchoolmayrequirethestudenttobewithdrawn.

10. WithdrawalfromSchoolOneterm’snoticeinwritingtothePrincipalisrequiredbeforewithdrawalofastudentfromtheSchool.NoticeofwithdrawalforthefollowingyearmustbereceivedbeforethecommencementofTerm4.

AnExitformmustbecompleted,givingreasonsforexitandnotifyingtheInternationalFootballSchooloftheschoolthestudentwillbeenrolledin.AnexitmeetingwiththePrincipal/DirectorofSport/BusinessManagerwillbeofferedtothefamily.11. ParentInformationItisaparent’sresponsibilitytonotifytheSchoolpromptlyofachangeofaddress,statusormedicalcondition(s).

form,etc.IftheremorethanonepersonrequestingenrolmentwiththeSchool,itisareferencetoeachpersonjointlyandseverally.1.3“Student”shallmeantheindividualcurrentlyenrolled,orapplyingforenrolment,withtheSchool.1.4“Materials”meansanygoods(including,butnotlimitedto,iPadsandtextbooks)suppliedonloantotheStudent.1.5“Fees”meanstheFeespayableasagreedbetweentheSchoolandtheParentinaccordancewithclause4ofthisagreement.2.Acceptance2.1TheParentacknowledgesthattheSchoolwillnotholdanyenrolmentplaceindefinitely,andthatifanofferofenrolmentmadetotheParentmustbeacknowledgedwithinthirty(30)days.Failuretocomplywiththisclausemaymeantheenrolmentpositionmaybeofferedtoanotherparty.2.2TheParentistakentohaveexclusivelyacceptedandisimmediatelybound,jointlyandseverally,bythesetermsandconditionsiftheParentmakesanapplicationtoenroltheStudentwiththeSchool.2.3ThesetermsandconditionsmayonlybeamendedwiththeSchool’sconsentinwritingandshallprevailtotheextentofanyinconsistencywithanyotherdocumentoragreementbetweentheParentandtheSchool.2.4NoneoftheSchool’sstaffareauthorisedtomakeanyrepresentations,statements,conditionsoragreementsnotexpressedbytheSchool’smanagementinwriting,noristheSchoolboundbyanysuchunauthorisedstatements.3.Parent’sObligations3.1TheParentshallnotifytheSchoolimmediatelyshouldtherebeanychangeincircumstancesfromthedetailsasoutlinedintheEnrolmentForm,including(butnotlimitedto)medicalhistoryoftheStudent,orthelivingarrangementsoftheStudentand/orParent.TheParentshallbeliableforanylossincurredbytheSchoolasaresultoftheParent’sfailuretocomplywiththisclause.3.2TheParentmustinformtheSchoolofanymedical,physiologicalorlearningissuesthattheStudenthasthatmayinterferewiththeirabilitytoparticipatefullyattheSchool,andtoforwardtotheSchoolanyreportsorinformationfromotherprofessionalsthatmayhelptheSchoolinsupportingtheStudent.TheSchoolmaysuggestattimesthattheParentseekexternalsupportandtheParentagreestoconsiderthissuggestionattheirowncost.3.3TheParent:(a)agrees:(i)toabidebytheSchool’spolicies,guidelinesandrules.Thesepolicies,guidelinesandrulescoverareassuchasappropriatebehaviour,conductwithinandoutsidetheSchool’spremises,andaresubjecttochangewithoutnotice.Thesepolicies,guidelinesandruleshavebeendecideduponbytheSchool’sBoardofDirectors,anditisthePrincipalwhowillpublishupdatesattheirdiscretion;(ii)tosupporttheSchool’sethosandagreetoworkwiththeSchooltosupporttheStudentinworkingtowardstheSchool’saimsandaspirations;(iii)tofirstdiscussanyconcernswiththeSchoolandagreenottounderminetheSchool’sauthorityovertheStudent;(iv)thattheSchoolmaydisciplinetheStudentforanybreachoftheSchool’spolices,rulesorguidelines.ThePrincipaland/orstaffmayattheirdiscretionenforcethedisciplinaryprocesswhichmayincludesuspensionorexpulsion.TheStudentwillbeaffordedproceduralfairnessinallinstances,includingtherighttobeheard.Ifthe

BoardofDirectors,thePrincipalorDirectorofSportfeelsthattherelationshipbetweentheSchoolandtheParenthasdeterioratedtoapointwheretherelationshipisuntenable,theSchoolmayrequiretheremovaloftheStudent.NorefundofFeeswillapply.(v)thattheSchoolhasaresponsibilitytoprovideasafeenvironmentfortheStudent.TheParentgivespermissiontothisendthattheSchoolhastherighttosearchtheStudent’sproperty(whichmayincludetheirschoolbag,electronicdevicesandotherpersonalpropertytheStudentmayhavebroughtontotheSchool’spremises).(vi)topayallFeesduetotheSchoolonorbeforetheirduedateaspertheFeesScheduleatthetimeofenrolment.TheParentacknowledgesthattheFeesSchedulemaybechangedattimes,andone(1)termsnoticewillbegiveninregardstothesechanges.AcurrentcopyoftheFeesSchedulecanbefoundontheSchool’swebsite.3.4TheParentunderstandsthattheSchool’sintentionistofacilitateintheacademicandsportdevelopmentandprogressoftheStudent.Tothisend,theParentagreesthatifthePrincipal,attheirdiscretion,believesthattheStudenthasfailedtoprogresssatisfactorily,thattheParentmaybeaskedtoremovetheStudentfromtheSchool.3.5IntheeventtheParentneedstocontacttheStudentduringtheSchoolshours,theParentwillcontact/gototheSchool’sofficetoseekpermissiontoremovethem.4.FeesandPayment4.1AttheSchool’ssolediscretion,theFeesshallbetheSchool’scurrentFeesasatthedateofenrolmentaccordingtotheSchool’scurrentFeesSchedule,accessibleviatheSchool’swebsiteorinformationpack.4.2AttheSchool’ssolediscretion:(a)anentrancefeeofonethousandsixhundreddollars($1,600.00)shallberequiredafterthestudenthasbeenacceptedviaasuccessfulTrialDay,followingtheapplicationisacceptedby,andpriortoentryto,theSchool.4.3TimeforpaymentoftheFees(beingoftheessence),willbepayablebytheParentonthedate/sdeterminedbytheSchool,whichmaybe:(a)annually,priortocommencementoftheschoolyearoninvoice;(b)perterm,payablequarterlyon5thJanuary,5thApril,5thJulyand5thOctoberviatheSchool’sdirectdebitsupplierwhichispriortothestartofeachterm;(c)weeklyinstallmentsviatheSchool’sdirectdebitsupplierwhichispriortothestartofeachterm;Weeklyinstallmentcommenceon5thJanuary(orthereabouts)eachschoolyearandoperatefor50weeks.(d)thedatespecifiedonanyfeespaymentagreementthatbeingdirectdebitfortermorweeklyfeespaymentoptionoroninvoicefortheannualfeesoption,orotherformasbeingthedateforpayment;(e)failinganynoticetothecontrary,thedatewhichisseven(7)daysfollowingthedateofanyinvoicegiventotheParentbytheSchool.4.4Paymentmaybemadebydirectdebitfortermorweeklypaymentplansoptionsviabankaccountorcreditcard(VisaorMasterCardonly).Paymentoninvoicefortheannualfeesoptioncanbeviaelectronic/on-linebanking,creditcard,orbyanyothermethodasagreedtobetweentheParentandtheSchool.4.5UnlessotherwisestatedtheFeesdoesnotincludeGST.InadditiontotheFeestheParentmustpaytotheSchoolanamountequaltoanyGSTtheSchoolmustpayforinrelationtotheFeesunderthisoranyotheragreement.TheParentmustpayGST,withoutdeductionorsetoffofanyotheramounts,atthesametimeandonthesame

basisastheParentpaystheFees.Inaddition,theParentmustpayanyothertaxesanddutiesthatmaybeapplicableinadditiontotheFeesexceptwheretheyareexpresslyincludedintheFees.4.6TheParentshallnotbeeligibleforanyrefundsordiscountsiftheStudentissick,isabsentforunexplainedreasons,isonextendedleaveorhasbeensuspended.4.7IntheeventoftheStudent’sexpulsion,dismissalorvoluntarywithdrawal,theSchoolshallnotbeobligatedtorefundFeespaid,andtheStudentshallbeliableforthepaymentofanyoutstandingFeesfortheremainingcurrentterm.4.8ContinualorhabituallatenessinpaymentofFeescouldjeopardisetheStudent’splaceattheSchool.5.AttendanceandPunctuality5.1AttendanceofallclassesiscompulsoryunlesstheStudentisgenuinelyillorotherwiseindisposedduetoamajortraumaoreventsuchasthedeathofaclosefamilymember.Writtenevidenceoftheillnessorevent,suchasadoctor’scertificateorfuneralnotice,mustbeprovidedtotheSchoolofficeontheStudent’sreturn,andtheStudentshallnotbeaskedorremindedtoprovidesuch.ThePrincipalmay,attheirsolediscretion,disregardthevalidityofthewrittenevidenceprovidedbytheStudent.ThefailureoftheStudenttoprovidesatisfactorywrittenevidencewillautomaticallyresultintheabsencebeingrecordedasunexplained.5.2TheSchoolshall,attheirsolediscretion,issueaformalwrittenwarningwheretheStudenthasacquirednumerousunexplainedabsencesinanyoneterm.AnyexcessiveunexplainedabsencesinthesametermshallresultintheStudent’simmediateexpulsionfromthecourse.6.AbsencesandIllness6.1ItistheresponsibilityoftheParenttoadvisetheSchool(inwritingorviaelectronicmeans)iftheStudentistobeabsentassoonaspossible,andtheestimatedlengthofabsence.ExtendedleavewillrequireconfirmationwiththePrincipalpriortotheextendedabsence.6.2TheStudentwillnotbeabletoattendtheSchoolforanyperiodoftimeduringwhich:(a)theStudentissufferingfromadiseaseorconditionwhichiscontagiousthroughnormalsocialcontact;or(b)amedicalpractitionerhasrecommendedtheStudentnotattend;or(c)thePrincipaloftheSchoolrequeststhatthesickStudentbekeptawayfromtheSchoolbecausetheStudentrequirescarewhichtheSchoolstaffresourcesdonotpermit.7.EmergencyContacts7.1TheParentmustprovidetheSchoolwiththenamesandaddressesoftworesponsiblepersonsovertheageofeighteen(18)whocancollecttheStudentincaseofanemergencyorillness.WhencontactedbytheSchool’sstaff,theParent(oraresponsiblepersonauthorisedbytheParent)mustgoimmediatelytotheSchooltocollectthesickorinjuredStudent.8.AccidentorEmergency8.1Allinjuries,accidentsandnearmissesmustbereportedtotheSchool,andrecordedintheaccidentandinjurylogbook.Allincidentswillbeinvestigated,andactiontakentopreventtheirre-occurrence.AfirstaidboxandmanualwillbeavailableforusebytheStudent.AnyactionbytheStudentthatjeopardisesthehealth,safetyorwelfareofothersmayresultinexpulsion.8.2WhilsteveryreasonableeffortshallbemadebytheSchooltocontacttheParent

intheeventofanaccidentoremergency,theParentherebygivesauthoritytothePrincipalortheirdelegateto,onbehalfoftheParent,authorisetheadministrationofmedication,transportationtohospitalandadministrationoftreatmentasisrecommendedbytheSchool’sdoctor,anyattendingdoctor,ambulanceofficer,policeorStateGovernmentOfficer.8.3TheParentwillberesponsibleforanycostsincurredasaresultoftransportationortreatment.9.Medication9.1TheParentagreestotheSchool’sstaffadministeringone(1)dosageofparacetamolintheeventtheStudenthasatemperatureofoverthirty-eightandahalfdegrees(38.5?C).9.2WheretheStudentrequirestheadministrationofmedication,theParentwill:(a)completetheappropriateformattheSchool;and(b)providethecorrectmedicationinitsoriginalcontainer;and(c)providewritteninstructionsfromamedicalpractitionerfortheadministrationofnon-prescriptionmedication;and(d)providetheSchool’sstaffwiththenameandcontactphonenumberoftheStudent’sdoctor.9.3TheSchoolstaffareauthorisedtoadministermedicationonlyinaccordancewiththeParentswrittenauthority,andindoingsoaretoberegardedasactingastheParent’sagent.TheSchoolStaffarenotliableforanyallergicreactionorinjurycausedtotheStudentbytheadministrationofthemedicationinaccordancewiththeParent’swrittenauthority.Norwilltheyberesponsibleforanyerrorcontainedinthewrittenpermission,orthesupplyofincorrectmedicationbytheParent.10.Meals10.1TheParentgivespermissionfortheSchooltoprovidetheStudentnutritionalmeals,andacknowledgesthatiftheStudentrejectstheprovidedmeal,theCentreshallnotberesponsibleforthedailynutritionalneedsoftheStudent.10.2TheParentacknowledgesthat:(a)theSchoolwillprovidetheStudentwithnutritionalmeals,andshallnotberesponsibleforthedailynutritionalneedsoftheStudentwheretheprovidedmeal(s)isrejected;(b)anyspecialdietaryrequirementsoftheStudentmustbeadvisedtotheSchoolinadvance.TheSchoolwilluseallreasonableendeavourstoaccommodatesuchrequirementsand,wherethisisnotpossible,informtheParentofthesame;(c)somefoodsmaycauseanallergicreactionincertainpeopleduetointoleranceofsomeingredients.IftheStudenthasanyknownallergies,orisintolerantofanyfood,itistheParent’sresponsibilitytoreportthistotheSchooluponenrolment,andcertainlybeforeconsuminganyfoodpreparedbytheSchool.TheSchoolshallnotbeliablewheretheParent,ortheStudent,havefailedtonotifytheSchoolofanallergyorfoodintoleranceandbecomesillasaresultofeatingfoodswhichtheyareallergicorintolerantto.Furthermore,andirrespectiveofanynotificationprovidedtotheSchoolofanyfoodallergiesorintolerances,itremainstheParent’s,and/ortheStudent’s,decisionastowhetherornottoconsumeanyparticularfooditems,anddosoattheirownrisk.11.Extra-curricularActivities11.1TheSchoolmay,attheirsolediscretion,determinethecompulsorynatureofactivitiesattheSchool.Activitiessuchascamps,excursions,performancesandotheractivitiesarecompulsoryandtheParentagreestosupporttheSchoolinensuring
