event details

sponsorship of this event directly supports the center’s economic and financial education work in 50 local school districts, reaching over 25,000 students annually.

in 17 schools, the center has an elementary school effort focused on providing financial literacy, business education, and entrepreneurship activities in grades 3-5. each event/table sponsorship at the center’s awards luncheon enables local public schools to bring their students (and their businesses) to the university of cincinnati for a market madness day, a city-wide event of trading and selling. this elementary school program has positively impacted student behaviors, improved academic performance and has taught financial skills at age 10-12.

event/table sponsorship will help the center to provide targeted, economic and financial education program (teacher training, business speakers, and curriculum consultation) to local public and private schools.

Funds raised through sponsorships of the awards luncheon will enable the center to provide an investing game and curriculum to middle and high school students in this region. students who participate in the stock market Game manage a simulated $100K portfolio of stocks over a ten week period, and follow the real-time fluctuations of the stock market. they learn about math, risk, diversification, research, etc.

sponsorship of this event will help the center to offer professional development workshops to educators and train over 400 educators this year on financial and economics concepts. teachers who are trained in the center’s seminars know how to integrate economic concepts and financial literacy into the daily curriculum and instruction.

event/table sponsorship allows all educators to attend this event at no cost. at this event, the center recognizes the educators and students engaged in our programs who have exhibited a deep commitment to economic and financial education.this event also provides educators the opportunity to network with approximately 500 other education and business leaders.

as a result of our mission

Broaden teachers’ knowledge about economics and finance and how to teachit through professional development seminars.

Student Enterprise Program (StEP): the step program engages students in the design and operation of a functioning market economy in schools, creating a mini-economy that mirrors the “real world”.

Stock Market Game(SMG): stock market game promotes critical-thinking and decision-making in an online market simulation allowing students to invest in a virtual portfolio and compete in teams for statewide recognition.

Today’s Learners, Tomorrow’s Leaders (TL2)tl2 is a highly selective, three week summer program. tl2 allows students the opportunity to earn three semester hours of transferable credit at the end of the program. time is spent on the main campus of the university of cincinnati and tours at top nationally known businesses such as p&g, ford, and cVg airport.

Teacher Training: the center trains teachers to improve their working knowledge of the economy, entrepreneurship, and personal finance and then they pass this knowledge to over 25,000 students annually. we serve a diversity of students and teachers, from urban to rural.
