How Do My Breasts Make Milk

• Your baby’s head should be tilted back a little so she comes into the breast chin first. Her chin should never be touching her chest (this places her tongue and jaw in the wrong position for a good latch).

• If your baby needs neck support, make a c-shape with your hand by spreading your thumb and forefinger apart. Support your baby’s neck/head in the web of your hand (between your thumb and forefinger) so that her head is tilted back a little as you guide her towards your breast.

QUESTION: How do I get off to the best start?ANSWER: Did you know that babies are born with feeding reflexes that can help them get to the breast and latch on their own? In fact, when mothers and babies are kept skin to skin in the first hour or two after birth, most healthy babies demonstrate these instinctive behaviors by slowly pushing their way up to the breast, opening their mouths, dropping their tongues and latching on their own or with just a little guidance.• Right after your baby is born, let her lie skin to skin

on your chest until she breastfeeds for the first time. • Keep your baby with you. Share a room with

your newborn.• Learn to identify your baby’s early hunger cues as it is

best to start breastfeeding with a calm, quiet and alert baby. Some early hunger cues include: - rooting (moving her head side to side with an open mouth when her cheek is touched);- sticking her tongue out - sucking on her hands

• If your baby is crying, don’t force her to breastfeed. First, soothe your baby by holding, swaying, walking or rocking her then try again.

What might work for one mom and baby may not work well for another. side-lying, football, cross-cradle and cradle. • The key is to bring your baby in close to your body

and turn your baby’s chin, chest and knees in a straight line so they are facing your body.

• Your baby’s head should be tilted back a little so she comes into the breast chin first. Her chin should never be touching her chest (this places her tongue and jaw in the wrong position for a good latch).

• If your baby needs neck support, make a c-shape with your hand by spreading your thumb and forefinger apart. Support your baby’s neck/head in the web of your hand (between your thumb and forefinger) so that her head is tilted back a little as you guide her towards your breast.

Warranty Information

Warranty term: New Ameda Platinum 3 years New Ameda Elite 2 years Refurbished Ameda Platinum 18 months Refurbished Elite 6 months The warranty does not cover damage caused by the negligence of the customer.

Warranty repairs:

All pump warranty claims will be addressed through Ameda’s Exchange program.

Under Ameda’s Exchange program, Ameda will ship the customer a refurbished replacement pump. The replacement pump will include a return receipt so that the customer is able to ship the non-working pump back.

Non-warranty repairs: All pump repairs not covered by warranty will be handled through Ameda’s Exchange program.

Ameda will accept non-warranty pump returns at the customer’s expense.

Upon receipt of the pump, Ameda will ship a refurbished pump in exchange for the non-working salvageable pump. The Exchange fees will be as follows:

Ameda Elite $200 Ameda Platinum $450

The Exchange pumps will be refurbished and will include the refurbished warranty.This is the only available option to repair a non-warranty pump.

Note: Only current customers are eligible for non-warranty repairs.

Rental Pumps

A rented Multi-User Breast Pump returned for reasons other than a mechanical or electrical malfunction including the need for special cleaning should be returned by the customer at their expense.

If the rented pump is lost, stolen or damaged, the customer must notify Ameda within thirty days of discovery. The notification should include the required information as stated in the customer’s rental contract with Ameda.

If the customer has purchased the Limited Waiver of Liability, notified Ameda within the specified time limit and provided the required information, the customer will receive a replacement pump and will have a deductible charged in accordance with their rental contract with Ameda.

If the customer has not purchased the Limited Waiver of Liability or has not notified Ameda within the specified time limit, the customer is responsible for the cost of the replacement pump at its current list price.
