INSTITUTIONAL EFFECTIVENESS COUNCIL
Functions The INSTITUTIONAL EFFECTIVENESS COUNCIL develops recommendations for College procedures related to administrative functions to include advancement, grants, facilities, and safety. The Council also provides for the continuous improvement of administrative services on a college-wide basis and seeks to better coordinate services among all units at the institution. This Council makes recommendations to the President on matters related to the administrative functions of the College.

TREE USA AND SUSTAINABILITY COMMITTEE Functions
Through mindful education and action, we advocate and encourage the transformative change that occurs when environmental resilience, economic responsibility and social justice are equitable. We strive to provide the knowledge and career paths for creating a delightfully diverse, safe, healthy and just world…with clean air, clean water, soil and power that is enjoyed by all. Recommendations made by this committee are submitted to the Business and Institutional Effectiveness Council. MVC Campus Tree Advisory group as part of this committee will assist in providing guidance for future planning, approval of a comprehensive campus tree plan, education of the campus population as to the benefits of the campus trees, and development of connectivity to the community. PLANNING, BUDGETING AND ASSESSMENT COMMITTEE Functions
The PBA Committee reviews, develops and assesses the MVC five-year strategic plan. In addition, the PBA Committee
monitors and improves upon the annual operational planning and assessment practices which inform the annual
budgeting process. The PBA Committee identifies and clearly communicates the annual priorities based on the prior
years’ planning, assessment and budgeting activities. The PBA Committee will comply with all external accountability
practices, procedures and guidelines. The PBA Committee includes Assessment as a Sub Committee. Recommendations
made by this Committee are submitted to the Executive Team and the President for consideration.

The purpose of the Assessment Committee is designed to bring focused attention to the collection, organization and
maintenance of all academic and technical assessment plans. Technical Programs includes AAS, AAT, and Certificates

COLLEGE EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM OR CERT
Functions
THE CERT Team is to provide a safer and secure learning and work environment for students, staff and faculty. This
committee is charged with reviewing, evaluating and implementing recommendations on safety and security procedures
found within the MVC Emergency Operations Plan. Members of this committee are required to do the following:
become CERT certified, CPR/AED certified and NIMS certified. Committee members must be willing to assist with
campus drills and emergencies. Recommendations made by this committee are submitted to the Business and
Institutional Effectiveness Council.

WELLNESS COMMITTEE
Functions: The Committee is responsible for the review and implementation of the College’s Wellness Plan. INFORMATION AND TECHNOLOGY COMMITTEE
Functions
The Information Technology Planning Committee is responsible for making recommendations for technology on campus that supports student and employee success. The committee tracks the changing trends in instructional as well as information technology. The committee supports the college’s budget primary source for hardware and software recommendations to keep MVC at the leading edge of information access.
