Report Summary The North Dakota University System 2015-2016 Annual Enrollment Report is an effort to report system wide, duplicated and unduplicated student headcount by combining degree credit and non-degree credit enrollments across the eleven NDUS institutions for an entire academic year. Additionally, non-credit enrollments provided through TrainND, a legislatively established organization powered by the five state community colleges whose purpose is to provide customized employee training to North Dakota business and industry, are provided in Appendix 1. The academic year reported in this document is Summer 2015, Fall 2015 and Spring 2016 semesters. The three credit types reported in this report are defined as follows:

• Degree Credit - all coursework and instructional activities that carry credit that can be applied toward college degree, or credit based remedial courses taken by a degree seeking student as reported to the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS).

• Non-Degree Credit – all coursework that carries college credit, but does not count toward a college degree; this includes continuing education coursework.

• Non-Credit – coursework that does not carry academic credit; noncredit courses do not count toward college degree.

In addition to credit types, this report also presents course enrollments by delivery method. Those methods include both on campus and distance education delivery as shown in the hierarchy below. Not shown in this diagram are Combination (combo) classes, which are distance education courses that utilize a mix of delivery methods, with less than 50% coming from any one delivery type.

Table 1 (pg 4) provides the summative data for annual enrollment. Campus Solutions reporting has allowed identification of 58,633 unduplicated student enrollments across the eleven system institutions. Included in this number are 7,908 first time freshmen, 4,614 new transfer students, and 2,095 new graduate students, which are summarized in Tables 7, 8, and 9. Non-credit coursework reported by TrainND for 2015-2016 accounts for 1,076 participating businesses with an unduplicated headcount of 11,908 employees trained.

Degree Credit – all instructional activities that can be applied toward college degree or credit based remedial courses taken by a degree seeking student as reported to IPEDS. Duplicated – an enrollment count in which an individual student may be counted more than once due to enrollment in more than one delivery method or on more than one campus. Non Degree Credit – coursework that carries college credit, but does not count toward a college degree; includes continuing education coursework. Unduplicated – an enrollment count in which an individual student is counted only once, regardless of enrollment in multiple delivery methods or at more than one campus.
