A message from the President...

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Since my last writing, Memorial Day has come and gone, but I wanted to

take this opportunity to express my thanks to all those who assisted with

the service and the cookout. This year we instituted a perpetual plague,

recognizing permanently our honored veterans, which is proudly displayed in

the clubhouse. We included our 2014 veteran, Walter Paulovske, as well as

this years’ inductee, Carol Hubbard, on the plague. In addition, this year

our veterans received their own plagues as well, recognizing them and their

branch of service.

There are many new things being planned for our Lake Hammock Village

family, as well. For example, we are going to institute a “Volunteer of the

Year” program, the recognized volunteer to be chosen by the community.

More of this will follow as we draw closer to October, but in essence the

winner will be entitled to any ticketed events throughout 2016 for he/she

and his/her significant other for free. In addition, he/she will be

permanently recognized in the clubhouse (also, more to follow). It will be

the HOA's way of saying “Thank You” to our valued volunteers.

This year, for the first time that I can remember (I've only been here

since 2012), we will be offering live musical entertainment, as well as, games

and food at our pool party in August. This year, the food will consist of ribs

and chicken as the main dish, and the entire event will be free to residents.

As you can see, summer is turning into a busy time here in Lake Hammock

Village. If you are here during any of our scheduled events, we encourage

you to attend.

Clark

Volunteer Corner

Introducing Lake Hammock Village Librarians, Dave

and Mary Schnopp. Dave and Mary have been

shelving books for us for about five years. They also

volunteer in other capacities around the park,

including CAP duty.

All of our books are donated. If you have finished a

good book, go ahead and donate it at the

clubhouse.

Note: Due to limited space, boxes of books are too

much to handle. Any duplicate books are damaged,

moldy, etc. will be re-donated.

Thank you Dave and Mary for keeping our books in

order!

HELP WANTED:

* Grill Master- The HOA is seeking a “Grill Master” for our August 23rd pool

party. The selected individual must be willing to arrive approximately 2 hrs

prior to the start of the party (party starts at 4:00 PM) and be willing to

share his/her skills in correctly preparing, cooking, and bar-b-queing a fine

selection of chicken and ribs. All necessary equipment and supplies will be

furnished.

* Front Gate Security- The HOA is actively seeking a front gate security

person(s) for Wednesday night Bingo. The selected individual(s) must be

available from 5:00 PM- 6:30 PM. Responsibilities are allowing non-

residents to enter the community for the sole purpose of playing Bingo.

Although “CAP” members are encouraged to volunteer, this is not a “CAP”

assignment as you will be outside the front gate. Sign up sheets are also

available in the clubhouse.

* Community Reporter- The HOA is actively seeking a “Community Reporter”

who might be willing to assist as a contributor to our monthly “Gator Tales”.

Responsibilities would be to interview a resident on a monthly basis and

write a brief article about that resident. Such information as where their

from, where they worked, family, what brought them to Florida, lifetime

and career accomplishments etc are topics that would be of interest.

For information or questions on any of the positions offered above, please

contact Clark Smith, (863)438-6929.

ALL OF THE ABOVE POSITIONS ARE OFFERED AT NO PAY AND NO BENEFITS!!!! WE DO, HOWEVER, OFFER YOU A GREAT, BIG

THANK YOU!!!

Pool Party August 23 4:00 PM- 8:00 PM (or longer)

This year for our pool party, the HOA Board of Directors has agreed to offer ribs and

chicken quarters to our residents as the main dish. We encourage those attending to

bring a side dish, dessert, bread, etc for others to share. Since ribs and chicken

quarters are an upgrade to hamburgers and hot dogs, the following procedures will be

implemented:

(1) In order to have enough food for all, you MUST sign up as attending with the number

of persons.

(2) Names will be checked off at the door and a ticket will be given for each person.

(3) ONLY THOSE WHO HAVE SIGNED UP WILL BE GIVEN A TICKET!!!

(4) This ticket is to be presented at the time you get your meal

(5) Only those who have a ticket will be allowed ribs and/or chicken, however, if you have

not signed up, and there is any left, you will be welcome to it.

We are sorry if this procedure may prove to be an inconvenience, but with the cost of

ribs and chicken, we are making every effort to control and limit any waste. Thanks for

your cooperation.
