Bel-Red Bilingual Academy offers summer quarter for preschool, pre-kindergarten & Junior K (ages 2½-5) students and summer day camps for 5–12 year olds. We carefully design all of our summer programs to be fun, engaging and, most of all, educational. Our physically and mentally balanced programs will give your child the perfect place to grow and thrive!

Our pre-school to Junior Kindergarten summer quarter is specially designed to help your child reinforce what he or she has learned and to prepare them for the next, more challenging school year. It is also designed to prepare the kids who have never gone to school before. Our integrated curriculum offers a

Instructors from the Seattle Go Center will teach the ancient strategy board game of Wei-Chi, also known as Go, igo, and baduk. We will start out with small boards and simple instructions, and progress to the full game by the end of the week. Since the game is easily handicapped, beginning players and weak players have an even chance of winning against more competent players. This keeps the game fun and educational for all. We will also cover Chinese band jump and shuttlecock.

Engage your child in exciting and educational hands-on science programs. Your child will participate in involved, multi-day projects such as; constructing bridge or robots; explore different scientific concepts like jet propulsion, chemical reactions, weight and density, and speed and distance. Assemble and control pulleys, levers, catapults, and other machines. Daily science experiments with discussions and presentations to enforce teamwork, scientific thinking, and creative exploration. Materials fee: $10

During this week at summer camp, students will learn how to juggle scarves, hula-hoop, play carnival games

The Magic Workshop is taught by award winning magicians Louie Foxx and Ruben Barron. In this magic class your kids will learn amazing magic tricks using everyday objects like a floating pen trick, or the or vanishing coin trick. Your kids will also learn how make "secret" magic props like the disappearing bag or the magic changing card. At the end of the week the magic class will put on a show for the rest of the school ending with the kids making Ms Sue disappear!

Basic Gymnastic and aerobic exercises will be led by the professional coach Arzu Karaali. Wu Shu classes

Fun-filled engineering activities for kids. Projects typically include an introduction and short presentation by the instructors followed by a design/build assignment. As students develop experience with the concepts, materials, and methods of LEGO engineering they are able to become more self-directed and to utilize instructors as consultants in conceiving, designing, building, and more advanced projects, all while having a fun and creative time!

The Chess Camp is conducted by the Orlov Chess Academy, which has 20 years’ experience teaching chess to children in the Seattle area. Georgi Orlov is International Master of Chess, 1994 US Open Champion. Georgi closely works and guides coaches who work with students. The camp welcomes players of all abilities, from beginners to experienced! Students will learn at their level, solve chess puzzles, develop strategies and learn tactics. All materials and workbooks are provided. Students who have played before will be evaluated and given appropriate instruction and challenge.

Learn about construction and creating things with your own hands! Children will learn what it takes to be a builder; from drawing up their own building plans to experimenting with different building tools. All activities will lead up to each child getting to build and paint their very own bird house to bring home at the end of the week! $10 material fee.

Sometimes you want to get out and play around, but sometimes you want to sit down and read a good book and exercise your right brain. Track 2 offers you a fun and educational alternative to Track 1. You can register for Track 2 on weekly basis too. Or you can mix and match weeks from either track. We are sure to make your summer wonderful and memorable.

Discount Policy and Late Fee:

1. Registration fee of $25 is waived if enrolling before 5/31. 2. A 10% discount* is available for 2nd or more children in the same family for summer camp only (applied to

the lower tuition). 3. 10% discount* is offered for students who participates in the whole summer program (10 weeks, but not

cumulative with other discount. It does not apply to pre-school and Junior K summer quarter).

Cancellation, Late Charge and Refund Policy

Bel-Red Bilingual Academy summer camps are registered weekly. Full tuition must be paid one week (7 days) before the camp starts. Otherwise, $10 late fee is charged in addition to the registration fee and the full tuition.

• 100% refund can be given seven days’ notice before the registered camp starts.

• 50% refund can be given on and/or after the first day of the registered camp.

• 30% refund can be given on and/or after the second day of the registered camp.

• No refund can be given on or after the third day of the registered camp.

*Discount must be requested at the time of registration.
