We live our everyday lives, and we all have obsessive
behaviors. The obsessive behaviors are invisible and
for this reason, it's like hidden order which we aren't
able to be aware of. While we are unconscious, we
live in our daily life following our own order.
In repeated lives, we do repeated actions.
We tried to find out the regular rules from our
inherent orders in repeated common days. We try to
follow the rules like queuing up in daily life.
For what we follow the rules ?
We have learned orders and standard like writing
words, grabbing pencils, using chopsticks and
queuing up for public transportation to live well and
comfortably in the frame called society. We becomes
habituated to this kind of standard which is made
for satisfying public interests of society and each
individual person obtains it. Also, it can be changed
by personal character or surroundings in their lives,
so that becomes their own orders, habits and finally,
it becomes obsession.
Social order and standard - habituation of order and
standard - own habit - obsession

We thought that everyone has obsession and wanted
to design to draw 'general obsession' out which exists in
everyone's life. We also thought that the most general
obsession is to find order of object and to arrange it.
When we use desk and clean it up, we say 'arrangement',
not 'cleaning'. Like this, desk is not cleaned but arranged
and we thought that we can show you the general
obsession effectively with the act of arranging. Therefore,
we use desk as a object for drawing obsession out. The grid,
passing through all sides of the desk, was chosen to change
the normal desk into the special one causing the obsessive
behaviors. The grid on every sides of desk indicates not
only the method to cause obsession but also indicates
the obsession itself. Including the grid for arrangement,
there's also a semicircular line on the desk and the line
was designed with expected range of arm. Because of the
Synergistic effects of the desk stuff and grid-drawn desk,
you will feel desired to set the grid.

People began to use machines when the modern society
was developed, and sought rapidness than slowness. Such
phenomenon has been accelerated with quick spread
information and leading edge machines in line with the
progress of the informatization society. As such, the life
cycle of objects has been gradually reduced. And in the
near future objects, objects will be changed as something
to be disposed instead of something unique for individuals.
Low-tech was applied in order to figure out if rapidness
and leading edge technologies are surely all about
necessary in this rampant advanced technical era.

Our ancestors or parents used to think if anything in
the house could not be easily eliminated because they
have emotional attachment for those objects. That
is to say, people think that there might be emotional
attachment in the relation between human being and
objects. However, it is not the case in the contemporary
society. Instead, people ceaselessly request new objects
without hesitation. Objects have become something
to be used and then disposed rather than something
that deserved to be kept. We are aware of this issue.
Thus, we focused on the relation between objects and
ourselves, and attempted to create objects that make a
conversation with human.

Sound Chandelier
We recognised that noise is the key element
in modern peopleโs daily life through many
researches. So we designed an object that can
manage our daily life with diverse sounds.
When people get back home to their empty
houses, they might feel silence awkward,
so that they turn on a TV even when they
donโt feel like watching it. This kind of weird
behaviors bring useless sounds to their daily
life and we defined it โthe indispensable
noiseโ. So we found out 8 different types of
the indispensable noise of daily life and finally
they became a fundamental inspiration of this
project.

She washes her face and waters the plants in her bathroom by a shower hose. She dries her face with

Diverse people live with all different kinds of work, however repetitive daily behaviours occur in
everyone's life. People behave similarily and share similar concerns and problems, as it is social
phenomenon for the people living in the same era. Despite that, it is natural that one's individual style
reveals even if what she does is unimportant. Therefore, we decided to focus on helping people to
realize the importance of their personal belongings following the above materials.
