Once upon a time in a faraway land, an Enchantress turns a cruel, unfeeling Prince into a hideous Beast.

To break the spell, the Beast must learn to love

another and earn her love in return before the last petal falls from an enchanted rose. Ten years later,

in a small village far below the Beast's castle, a beautiful and intelligent young woman, Belle, yearns

for something more than her provincial life.

Indeed, it is a tale as old as time, with a complex message that is as ageless as it is universal;

but beneath all the layers it can be summed up very simply:

love one another, and refrain from judging others who “seem” to be “different.”

A fantasy world filled with enchanted castles,

magic spells, dancing flatware, and beautiful music came to life on April 11, 12, and 13th at the Lincoln-Way East High School Auditorium.

Every year I have had the privilege of working with an

amazing group of people and this year is no exception.

I could not have done my job well without the help and

Lisa Gray, Lisa Huguelet and Mary Kimak. A special

thank you to Claudia Cole, Mary Ann Liptak and

Kristina and Mike Andrews, who will be stepping

down after this year. Claudia, thank you for being our

costume angel, making sure that every costume was

altered to fit perfectly. Mike, thank you for every set

piece you've carried, moved or built with a smile

on your face. MaryAnn, thank you for sharing your

love of music and for all the support and inspiration

you have given the students. And to Kristina,

thank you for every little, big thing you do with

kindness and grace, for keeping us organized

and informed, and for making me laugh!
