2014 NBCT Jump Start Seminar Instruction Sheet

INFORMATION YOU WILL NEED TO BRING TO THE TRAINING SITE

Congratulations on registering! We are looking forward to seeing you on November 15 & 16, 2014 for the premier of OEA’s National Board Jump Start Seminar at our Portland and Redmond offices. “Getting Ready” instructions are listed on the back regarding materials you’ll need to bring to the seminar. LOCATION: The Jump Start Seminar will be held in two locations. Make sure that you registered for your preferred location:

AGENDA: A draft agenda for the Jump Start Seminar will be emailed

soon.

ATTIRE: We recommend that you wear layers of comfortable clothing to accommodate varying temperatures inside and outside of the building. You will be sitting for long periods of time, so feel free to stretch or take a break when needed.

FOOD: Lunch and snacks will be provided. If you listed dietary restrictions when registering, please know that they have been noted. If you have questions or need information about your special meals, please email (penny.hildreth@oregoned.org) before the event.

LODGING & MILEAGE: Attendees are responsible for their own travel and lodging arrangements and expenses.

PARKING: Onsite parking is available at both locations.

Professional Development Units:

We are offering up to 16 CPD clock hours for the two-day Jump Start Seminar for those completing the full two days.

SEMINAR HOURS: We will begin promptly at 8:00 am and end promptly at 4:30 pm each day. Please be on time as we have two full days of solid support waiting for you.

Getting Ready:

Updated instructions for Components 1 and 2 will NOT be available online until October 31, 2014. Information and instructions on how to organize these materials will be sent to you when they are received by OEA Center for Great Public Schools. BRING THE FOLLOWING TO YOUR TRAINING SITE:

1. Three (3) 1 ½ binders 2. Colored flags (or tabs) RED, BLUE, GREEN and YELLOW. The Post-it brand works

best. We do a group tabbing activity to get you organized. 3. Highlighter pens in PINK, BLUE, GREEN and YELLOW 4. Additional Post-Its (any color) 5. Pencil/pen 6. Notebook paper
