your key contacts: “none of us is as smart as all of us.”

I thought this was a fitting quote for an introduction to a magazine. done right, a trade magazine is a gathering place for an entire industry. A physical and, in today’s

digital world, virtual collection of the best minds an industry has to offer. Mechanical Business is one such gathering place. In the past year, through just six issues, we have produced over 700 pages for the Mechanical trades. But we have done that not on our own, but through interviewing, and meeting and communicating with, over 1,000 of this industry’s leaders. yes … we counted. Collectively, all these people helped us produce hundreds of editorial features for our 19,222-strong circulation of contractors, wholesalers and mechanical engineers. We are proud to say that, despite worthy competitors, these editorial and circulation figures are unchallenged in the Canadian marketplace. The purpose of this media file is to welcome back our existing advertisers, thank them for their loyalty and to showcase what we have planned for 2014. It is also to invite those who have not yet joined us to do so. We’re always planning for the future … yours, ours and our readers. Best regards,

The “Us” of Mechanical Business

A new Circulation Milestone

The AAM audit has verified that Mechanical Business has:

As of the July/Aug 2013 edition, Mechanical Business chose to be audited by Alliance for Audited Media/AAM (formerly ABC). This marks the start of an exciting new era for Mechanical Business – an era that will allow marketers to make apples-to-apples circulation analysis.

For our first audit with AAM, we chose a comprehensive 14-month review period … thereby laying open our circulation history for all to see. To call it a success is putting it mildly.

1) The largest qualified print circulation in Canada.2) The largest contractor circulation in Canada – 15,028 strong. (averaging over 1,140 more than our AAM-audited competitors!)3) A 100% direct Request from Recipient circulation.4) 100% distribution via personal name, company name, and title and/or occupation.5) The highest Quebec circulation of any national magazine.

The Publisher’s own Stats, To you ...

The Truth is In the Advertising.

Trust your eyes. Trust Mechanical Business.

There is an adage in the publishing world that says: Every Issue is a Report Card.

Trade magazines earn almost 100% of their revenue through advertising. As such, every issue is a virtual report card on the health of that magazine. The more advertising it carries, the healthier that magazine is likely to be.

In the magazine business, ads equal sales. And, just like any company – including yours – sales equal marketplace acceptance of that product. The same holds true for magazines … magazines like Mechanical Business. Consider these industry statistics:
