Happening This Week... NOMINATE A WORTHY WORK Caring Forever Endowment Nominations are due today! Today is the last day to nominate an organization or individual to receive the Caring Forever Endowment Award for 2014’s award of $1500! Nominees will be organizations or individuals who are working to share the Love of Christ through caring for others. Past awards have been made for work with the homeless, mission work in Cuba, disaster relief work, education and Campus Ministry work. Each of these have been suggested by the congregation through a nomination form like the one below and selected by the Caring Forever Endowment Fund committee. You can nominate a worthy work by filling in this nomination form and placing it in the Caring Forever Box in the Narthex. Father’s Day, June 15th, will present another great opportunity to make a contribution to the Caring Forever Endowment Fund in honor of a loved one. Association of Retired Christian MenThe Association of Retired Christian Men (ARCM) meets each Thursday in the SHPC William Cannon library from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30.

A New Family Is On the Way...Can You Help?The mission committee needs a few dedicated folks who can participate in SHPC’s sponsorship of a newly arriving refugee family. Volunteers may:

• Help with apartment set-up• Collect furniture• Buy groceries • Meet the family at the airport • Be a new friend

Drivers Needed!!The Bread Project needs drivers to help pick up day-old bread and pastries from local stores then deliver to food pantries.If you can help, please contact Cathy Beard at [email protected].

Summer Worship is Almost Here!UpStreet & True Faith wrap up next weekNext week is the last week of the school year for UpStreet and True Faith Sunday Mornings, and our kids will be joining us in worship. We’re so excited to have those young faces once again filling the sanctuary! For families with preschoolers toddlers, and infants, Wonder Junction and nursery offerings will continue through the summer.

It’s coming!! The annual Holy Smokes BBQ will be on June 1st after the 11:00 service at the Brodie Campus!This will be our first all-church event with the new building at Brodie, so you won’t want to miss it! Bring lawn chairs, a side dish or salad, or if you’re up for the challenge, bring a smoked or grilled entree!We’ll have great music, food and fellowship, so regardless of which service you attend that day, we want to see you at The Deck!

VOLUNTEER to Teach Essential Computer Skills! Manos de Cristo is in need of Computer Literacy Instructor volunteers. WHEN: Tuesday and / or Thursday mornings from 9:30-11:30 am -- You can do one day a week or choose to do both Tuesday and Thursdays.Volunteers will need to commit for period of week of May 19th-week of July 7th.

Prospective volunteers should have computer skills (Windows, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Internet, Gmail), and bilingual (English/Spanish) volunteers are highly encouraged to apply!Please contact [email protected] or call 512-
