Helping Children in CrisisDo you feel like you missed the opportunity to clean out your kids’ closets this summer for a good cause? We’ve already sent your donations of shoes and clothing with our Guatemala mission group, but not to worry; we have a new opportunity!By now, we’re all well aware of the crisis on the border with a flood of migrants seeking a new life in the U.S.. The thousands of children making the journey without a parent has caused a humanitarian crisis, with some shelters overflowing with kids who have little to no resources. The Association of Retired Christian Men (ACRM) at SHPC, in conjunction with Austin Disaster Relief Network (ADRN) is responding to the crisis by collecting new and gently used items for women and children. They will deliver all items collected to Lackley AFB in San Antonio on Friday, August 1st. Please have your donations to the church office by Thursday, July 31st.The following items are needed:

• Children’s shoes, clothing, hoodies/sweaters and backpacks

• Women’s clothing and undergarments
