     For the first time in 67 years, the ITE Midwestern Dist rict Annual Meeting will be held jointly with the ITE Western District in Rapid City, South Dakota. This meeting wi ll represent nearly half of the United States (24 states), providing an opportunity for a robust and diverse technical program, vendor exhibit and opportunity to networ k. In four days, participants will have to opportunity to gain a year’s worth of PDHs with 12 hours of technical sessi ons and other presentations . Substantial student events are planned including three traffic bowls, the Kell Competition and leadership sessions. Rapid City is special place in America. A walk down Main Street will put you face to face with bronze sculptures of each of the 44 presidents of the United States. The City of President’s is best known for being 25 miles from Mt. Rushmore, but there are two national parks and two national monuments also within about a two hour drive (Badlands National Park, Wind Cave National Park, Jewel Cave National Monument and Devil’s Tower National Monument) as well as the Crazy Horse Memorial. Rapid City has free Summers Night concerts downtown every Thursday and a 4 th of July Parade. There are historic 1880’s railroads, waterparks, reptile gardens, mammoth paleontological sites, Sturgis (site of the famous motorcycle rally 30 miles northwest) and Wall Drug (50 mil es east). Bring your family for a once in a lifetime experience! The meeting will be held at the Rapid City Convention Center, adjacent to the Holiday Inn Rushmore Plaza which will serve as the conference headquarters.
