VOL. XCX JUNE/JULY/AUGUST, 2014 NO 3

After com

pleting 100

years since

Dispensation

was granted to

Moslah Shrine

Temple on May

14, 1914, I am

reminded that

having

completed our

99th year in July,

2014, we are now

entering our 100th

year since Charter was granted to our

Moslah delegation on July 13, 1915 at the

Imperial Session held in Seattle, Washington.

According to the 1932 Moslah News article

on the “Early History of Moslah Temple”,

“on the 4th day of October, 1915, the Charter

of Moslah Temple was formally delivered to

her Officers at the old Chamber of

Commerce building at the corner of 5th and

Throckmorton Streets.”

Without question, those were exciting times

for our new Temple and membership (the

creation of new Nobles) was foremost in the

minds of all Moslah Nobles. In fact, during

the first 18 years of her existence, Moslah

created no less than 113 new Nobles per year

and as many as 1262 in 1920. After 18 years,

Moslah’s year end membership stood at

3,759 on December 31, 1931, having

reached a high of 4,879 Nobles year end

December 31, 1924. So, from a historical

standpoint we are made aware that there will

be ups and downs, when attempting to grow

our membership.

Today, our membership stands below

2200 and as your 2014 Potentate, I am

requesting that YOU, THE NOBLES of

MOSLAH make every effort to support our

upcoming Ceremonial scheduled for

Saturday, September 6 with your time,

talent, spirit and means in adherence to our

Creed. Please make every effort to visit your

Masonic Lodge to solicit the membership in

the Shrine of every eligible Master Mason

with whom you come in contact. Further, if

you are aware of any former Shriners who

have been recently suspended, solicit their

return to our Temple.

To aid you in this worthy endeavor,

Moslah Shrine offers you the following:

• Newly created Shriners at the September 6

Ceremonial or September Temple Business

Meeting will only be required to purchase

the Moslah Fez. This year’s dues are waived.

• Any Shriner who top lines 2 or more

petitions (creations) this year, your dues for

2015 will be remitted by Moslah Shrine

and the Noble will receive a Centennial

Certificate commemorating his

Distinguished Service to Moslah in its

100th year.

• Any suspended member of Moslah can be

reinstated by completing a petition for

reinstatement, providing a current Lodge

dues card and paying this year’s dues.

Nobles of Moslah, there is no activity

more important in 2014 than increasing

our membership. It is absolutely necessary

for our continued existence and membership

solves all the issues and concerns we face

today. Let’s be proactive and take advantage

of the concessionary offers listed above.

You can do it! As Nobles of Moslah , we

We wish to say that all who were at T S A had a good time. We

took 1st place in inline inspection and color guard competition. We

want all to have a safe and happy summer and are looking forward to

kicking off all activities in Sepember. Hope to see all at the

Ceremonial and Temple meeting and getting ready for the casino trip

and our business meeting.

– Ernest Parrish Adjutant P/C

TSA was great this year and the Mystic Wheels put on a very

impactful show… both teams! When all was said and done, we

finished 2nd by .03%. Pretty darn close… but there’s next year!

Congratulations to all our riders and support crews for a great job!

Our TSA hospitality room was a winner and thanks again to enter

tainment chairman Doug Watkins and his Lady Sharon. Great job!

The Mystic Wheels performed in the Granbury 4th of July

parade and the Crowley city parade, both in July. What a great time

and wonderful welcome by the home town folks. We enjoyed getting

the Fez out in front of the world.

Circus ad sales are underway and the Mystic Wheels are pushing

hard on both ad sales and tickets. We are looking to improve on last

year’s most successful campaign.

Visit the MYSTIC WHEELS FACEBOOK page for pictures and

activities. If you are a Moslah Noble, looking for a unit home, check

out the Mystic Wheels. You will find a very family oriented group

with the ladies and kids at all our events… we have a lot of kids!

We ride inexpensive, traditional open wheel go karts, and you will

find us heavily involved in all temple and blue lodge activities.

Call Greg Illston 3430895, Brett Wiesner 3607585 or Tommy

Boldin 6828883427 for information and a visit. You’ll see why so

many nobles have chosen the Mystic Wheels for their unit home…

still the LARGEST and friendliest motorized unit in Texas!

HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY

Summer everyone. Even with the

Temple dark, the CarVettes are

having a very busy and fun summer.

TSA in Mesquite was a lot of fun.

Even though we came in second we

had an excellent drill (just a little bad luck). It is always exciting to

see old friends from across the state.

The unit had to split up on July 4th for two parades. We had 6

cars in Granbury and 4 participating in the Ridglea Country Club

Estates parade. The Granbury parade was huge. There must have

been 100,000 spectators all waving flags and cheering all the entries

on. Excellent exposure not only for the CarVettes but for all the

Moslah units who were there. July 12th we had 10 cars in the

Independence Day parade in Crowley. This is always a fun parade

that we have been in for the last few years.

We are preparing to attend TSMPA Obstacle in Tyler. This is the

event everyone looks forward to. Nothing but fun fun fun!

Also we are looking forward to the third annual Sports

Spectacular coming soon. If you have not purchased your tickets to

this event you should do so. This is a fun evening and you just might

get lucky and win a nice firearm.

On a final note let’s get out and sell those Circus ads. The circus

will be here before you know it. This is the life blood for Moslah, so

let’s all do our best to get as many ads as possible.

C A R - V E T T E S

The Granbury Shrine Club participated in the annual July 4th

parade with the Potentate and his Divan joining us. We had the

largest entry in the parade and the crowd this year was estimated at

100,000. If you want to see a real parade, come to Granbury. Our

Moslah motorized units put on a show and entertained the crowds.

We get such great PR by being in this parade. We invite all of

Moslah to join us in 2015.

In addition, I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation, as

well as congratulations to all the units of Moslah who

ous Competitions. Congratulations to Noble Moe Rameh who was

recently installed as President of TASOB for the 201415 year at

TSA. Congratulations, is also extended to Noble Matthew

Further, on behalf of the Divan, I would like to congratulate

In closing, your Divan would like to Thank You, the Nobles of

Moslah, for your support of the Moslah $100 Million Honors
