The three ALL-NEW EcoTec3 SIERRA ENGINES feature the latest engine technologies from GMC that deliver power when it’s needed and optimal efficiency at cruising speeds.

1. DIRECT INJECTION (DI) — delivers fuel more precisely into the combustion chamber for a higher compression ratio that means more torque, better overall power and improved fuel efficiency.

2. ACTIVE FUEL MANAGEMENT™ (AFM) — improves fuel economy by deactivating cylinders under certain low-demand driving situations, reducing the engine’s work and translating into real-world fuel economy improvements.

3. VARIABLE VALVE TIMING (VVT) — helps optimize the camshaft timing to provide improved low-rpm torque and high-rpm horsepower.
