  • PHOTOGRAPHY

    DIPLOMAS

For the safety of all guests, and to ensure that all families are able to see clearly, we must insist that family members and friends remain at their seats during the diploma ceremony.

A professional photographer will take a posed photo of each graduate, and an action shot as the graduate crosses the stage. The photography company will automatically send a proof and order form to the graduates address of record in case you wish to purchase a copy.

If you wish to take a close-up personal photo, we ask that you wait until after the ceremony concludes when you will be free to approach the stage area.

adjacent neighborhoods, please do not park in any of these areas: the SunTrust Bank lot on North Decatur Road, any Emory Village business parking lot (especially the CVS lot), or neighborhood streets. We also ask that you avoid the Emory Clinic and Lowergate North parking decks as they are not free and are needed for patients visiting the medical facilities.

While all Commencement parking decks are free on Commencement Day, all other parking regulations are strictly enforced.

Your car may be booted or towed if improperly parked. On campus, please do not park in any spaces marked no-parking, 24 Hour Reserved, carpool, or Service Vehicles Only.

Diplomas may be picked up immediately after the ceremony at specified locations.

PARKING & SHUTTLESWe recommend that you park at the Peavine Parking Deck (highlighted on the Parking and Shuttles map) and walk or ride the shuttles to the Quadrangle. The Oxford Road Parking Deck is reserved specifically for guests with mobility concerns and disabilities. All parking decks have disability parking available. We do not recommend that guests with mobility concerns park at the Fishburne Parking Deck because it does not have an elevator or shuttle service.

The main-gate entrance to Campus (near North Decatur & Oxford roads) is reserved for passenger drop-off only (between the Administration Building and White Hall at the West Entrance of the Quadrangle). Please use Clifton Road for access to the majority of campus parking decks. Out of respect for the businesses operating around Emory, and residents in the

Please take note of the four special Commencement shuttle routes (marked Peavine, Michael Street, Lowergate, and Clairmont) named for the primary deck that they service.

    HELPFUL WEBSITES

    TICKETS

The above ceremonial banner, called a

gonfalon, leads degree candidates as they march.

Checking the main Emory website (www.emory.edu) is the fastest way to learn if either the Heavy Rain or the Severe Weather plan has been activated. If the weather forecast calls for rain on Sunday night or Monday morning, we strongly encourage you to check the website or the weather hotline at 404-727-1234 on Sunday night after 7:00 p.m. so that you will know when/where to arrive on Monday morning. If there is light rain, the Quadrangle ceremony and diploma presentations will continue as planned (bring an umbrella!). If the heavy rain plan is activated, the diploma ceremony and elements of the central ceremony will be moved to a tent on McDonough Field starting at 8:00 a.m. If the severe weather plan is activated, the diploma ceremony and elements of the central ceremony will be moved to the Woodruff Physical Education Center (WoodPEC) and will start earlier at 7:30 a.m.

Tickets are not required for the regular schedule ceremony on the Quadrangle. Heavy rain and severe weather venue tickets are available for students to pick-up in April (they will be notified when available). Non-ticketed guests may view the ceremony from one of several classrooms located in White Hall, adjacent to the Quadrangle.
