Accommodations
Backpacks & WristbandsFor easy identification and your safety, performers MUST carry the backpack and wear the wristbands (given at check-in) to all NCA & NDA functions.
CurfewParticipants will have a nightly curfew and should not be outside their rooms after the established times. It’s important that performers are well rested as the taping may possibly be early in the morning.
Inappropriate BehaviorEach of you are role models and we expect you to be on your best behavior while in Orlando. Smoking and drinking will NOT be tolerated. Participants and parents, please read the rules and conduct of behavior. You must sign these and return them back to the NCA & NDA office prior to departure.
JewelryJewelry of any kind may not be worn during rehearsals or performance (i.e. rings, watches, body piercing, etc). We suggest you leave these items at home..

IMPORTANT GUIDELINES
Performers and Spectators! On behalf of NCA & NDA, I would like to welcome you as a member of the NCA
& NDA Performance Team for our 7th Annual Christmas Extravaganza special event. We are very excited that you have chosen to be a part of this magical experience at the Walt Disney World® Resort.This newsletter should answer the most commonly asked questions concerning the trip as well as your performance. Please review the questions and answers on the following pages, complete any necessary forms and return with your final payment.With plenty of time to enjoy the parks, this trip promises to be one of the best ever. You will experience many fun-filled adventures and make new friends. We look forward to sharing this time with you.

Tell me about the Disney Parks® Christmas Day Parade.The Disney Parks® Christmas Day Parade will be televised December 25th on ABC. ABC controls the broadcast coverage and all air time decisions are at their discretion. However, a portion of our routine will be shown. Please note that some ABC affiliates may choose not to pick up the Disney Parks Christmas Parade. I would suggest to check with your local affiliate for programming.
How much spending money should I bring with me? That’s up to you. The use of traveler’s checks or gift cards (AMEX, VISA, MC) is recommended. Get these cashed early each day at the hotel’s cashiers desk; be sure to have identification. You will only need money in Lake Buena Vista for meals not included in the package and miscellaneous items such as snacks and souvenirs.
What can we do during our free time atWalt Disney World®? You are welcome, during free times, to explore any of the parks or other area attractions. However, you must be accompanied by your chaperone.
What rules and regulations must we adhere to?These rules/regulations are listed on the Rules of Conduct and Behavior Form that you and your parents or guardian must sign.
How many staff members will there be on the trip?There will be one NCA & NDA staff buddy for every 25 participants.
When will I receive a rehearsal schedule/updated event itinerary? All information will be sent via email or posted on our website. Send any additional email addresses that you would like information sent to:[email protected].
How should I wear my hair for the performance? Female performer’s hair will be pulled back with a ribbon, which NCA & NDA will provide and send with your uniform. Please do not embellish.
What time is check-in and check-out at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort?Check-in on your arrival day is 3:00 PM. If they have rooms available before then they will try to accommodate you. Check-out on your departure day will be at 11:00 AM.
My family has friends who will be in central Florida (or who live in Florida).I want to visit them, may I? Yes, you may visit them with chaperone supervision.
My advisor/director is coming to Florida as a spectator. Can he/she attend practice? Can my parents?Our rehearsals are closed to all spectators until we have completed teaching the performance. Spectators, that purchase the NCA & NDA package, will be allowed to watch a portion of the last practice.
Will spectators get to watch the parade taping? The parade should take place during park hours. Spectators will be able to view the parade as long as they have a park ticket to get into the Magic Kingdom®. Please note that there is a not a reserved spot for NCA & NDA spectators.
Where will we practice?Rehearsals will be held atDisney’s Coronado Springs Resort.(rehearsal times are subject to change).

Questions &Answers
Do I need to practice prior to arrival? We suggest learning ALL choreography ASAP. The more you know before you go, the easier rehearsals will be!What is the Routine Preview?The Routine Preview will be held on Thursday and allows us to see how well everyone knows the routine. It shouldn’t take any more than 15 minutes, if you know the material. The Preview is mandatory for all. See the itinerary for times offered.
What happens if I become ill while there? We will have first aid/trainer staff on duty throughout the event. Medical treatment is at the expense of the participant.
When will my airline ticket be mailed to me? Airline tickets, purchased through A & I Travel, will be mailed or e-mailed upon receipt of payment.
What if my uniform items do not fit? All uniforms are distributed according to the sizes/measurements that you gave us. Please make any adjustments or alterations to your uniforms before you arrive in Florida. If alterations will not fix your problem then please contact John Calitri by e-mail at [email protected]. Please do not send them back. We will have a uniform swap in Florida.
When will I receive my uniform? We are planning to ship all uniforms in early to mid November. Your uniform box will consist of: Uniform, Backpack, and the Choreography DVD.
What type of clothing should I bring?Limited clothing. Remember most airlines are now charging for luggage. Be sure to check your airlines baggage policy before arriving at the airport. Also, bags over 50 pounds are charged an extra fee. Please do not pack liquids in your carry-on luggage. The carry-on bag will be sent with your uniform. This bag is part of your identification and must accompany you at all times. See “Packing For Disney” or more details
Are there parking charges at the hotel?No, parking is complimentary atDisney’s Coronado Springs® Resort.
What should we wear to practice each day? Shorts and T-shirts. Use good judgment.

Event Videos!There will be a professional videographer chronicling our trip from beginning to end. A Pre-Order Form is included in this packet. Order forms will also be available in the Varsity Shop at the event.

Special Event Uniform
One pair of all white tennis shoes (No color for the performance). Must be pure white, not off white.
One pair of comfortable tennis shoes for rehearsals, walking, etc.
Put your name on all personal clothing items, including your performance outfits.
Parents - Camera and video camera
White ankle length or no show socks for the performance
Packing tip - we recommend that you pack your uniform and one change of clothes in your carry on bag. You never know when your luggage may be lost.
