Overview of Producer Certification

Aetna Individual Medicare producer certification has three components.

1. Aetna Medicare Compliance and Fraud, Waste and Abuse tutorial and Code of Conduct attestations (45 minutes).

2. AHIP certification (3-7 hours) consists of five training modules and an exam that must be

passed with a 90% or better.

3. PDP Training Modules.

4. Attend a local training class for MA plans (Note: Call centers will have unique handling). All MA product training will be done in a classroom setting.

Cost: $100 for external producers, except for Front Runner brokers. For Front Runners certification is free. There is no cost for Aetna sales employees.

Certification reminders

Courses must be taken in order: The tracking system requires the producer to complete each part of

the Individual Medicare certification before moving to the next requirement in the certification sequence.

Three attempts: Producers have three attempts to pass the mastery test associated with each online

Transferring AHIP certification to Aetna: Producers can transfer their AHIP certification to Aetna if

they receive a 90% or higher on the assessment (in three or less attempts). However, they must still pass the other two requirements to complete their certification.

Continuing Education (CE) credits: Producers can earn CE credits for AHIP training through our certification program. AHIP training has been approved for CE credits in 49 states and D.C.

Annual Medicare broker/agent training and testing is a CMS requirement.

Coventry Medicare producers must be certified, licensed and appointed to be "Ready to Sell" before engaging in any sales-related activities for our exciting 2014 Medicare Advantage (MA/MAPD) or Part D plans (PDP).

Annual certification is also a requirement to be eligible to receive renewal commissions in 2014.

Save $50 and pay the reduced registration fee of $100 when you access the AHIP certification website directly from the Coventry Medicare Broker Portal.

NOTE: You must take the AHIP certification through the Coventry Broker Portal.

Certify early!

Brokers/agents who certify to sell on or before September 30, 2013, meet all Ready to Sell requirements, and demonstrate the minimum production requirement may be eligible for the $100 AHIP registration fee reimbursement!

Coventry will reimburse you with your January commissions if you have sold six or more (6+) Coventry Medicare Advantage enrollments, or eight or more (8+) First Health Part D enrollments for a 1/1/2014 effective date. (Cancellations and Not Processed Applications will not count)

Reminder: If you take 2014 AHIP training prior to 7/22, you will still need to log in to AHIP on or after 7/22 to complete the 2014 Coventry Core training.

Important Tips and Reminders:

Passing Exam Scores: The AHIP Medicare Marketing and Coventry Core General Compliance certification modules for 2014 require that you successfully pass each module exam with a minimum score of 90% within three (3) attempts. AHIP provides Coventry with all examination results. If you fail to pass the Coventry exam within three (3) attempts, you will NOT be able to market or sell that Coventry product in 2014!

Be sure to allow yourself ample time to take the online exams. Each exam session (e.g., attempt) has a two (2) hour time limit. The two hours begin when you launch the exam. If you launch it and walk away and reach the two hour limit, your exam will not be graded and your test answers will not be saved.

CIGNA The new 2014 Medicare Producer Training & Certification : https://producertraining.cigna.com. The 2014 PDP lesson is: 2014 National Part D Product Overview.

Note: The Producer Training environment is compatible with the following browsers: Internet Explorer 7x and higher; Fire Fox 3x and higher. Producers contracted to sell the CIGNA Medicare products must successfully certify prior to marketing or selling CIGNA Medicare products. This means that you must complete the required lessons and pass the exams with a score of 85% or better prior to distributing any CIGNA Medicare products. The exams are embedded at the end of each lesson. You must complete each lesson prior to taking the exams. You may take each exam up to three times. If you fail to pass either exam within three attempts, you will not be allowed to market or sell CIGNA Medicare products for the 2013 selling season. Producers, who distribute and sell CIGNA Medicare products prior to successfully completing the requisite exams, will not be eligible to receive commissions on that business. Some helpful tips about the new training & certification website and its functionality:

• Your username and password is the same as with the prior training site • The site URL does not change: https://producertraining.cigna.com • All vital information is on one landing page, with no scrolling required • You can take a course, study, and download completion certificate quickly and easily • The additional navigation and site sections available (i.e., History, AHIP, Help, Profile) support program growth and expansion

Please note: There are specific instructions on how to properly close out of the lessons. Please

read these instructions carefully to ensure you receive credit for the lessons.

If an agent requests their ID and password, or is requesting to have their agent ID unlocked due to two failed attempts- Cigna University does not have access to their agent ID and password. Cigna refers agents back to their upline for ID and password.

Producers who fail certification are referred back to upline for additional training. DP’s will need to email the producers name, agent ID and the lesson number that needs to be reset to: [email protected] . If the agent does not pass on the following attempt, the producer may be required to complete one-on-one training with Cigna National Service Manager – or contract may be terminated.

National PDP Producers: Must complete and pass exams for both Lesson 1

newly contracted agents are required to complete certification for 2013 as well as 2014. Caution:

Completion of the 2013 lessons does not certify you to sell 2014 Medicare products.

AHIP Training and Credits

Once you have completed and passed the 2013 AHIP training, there are two ways to get your

credit:

1. Fax your 2014 AHIP certificate with your Cigna Agent ID written on top of the document

to Cigna at (248) 729-2364 and get credit for successfully completing the AHIP training. A

mandatory fax cover sheet is required and can be located on the website.

2. Or scan and email your AHIP certificate to [email protected]. Be sure to

write your Agent ID on the certificate before you send it.

Humana Must be completed by October 15, 2013. Humana Certification & Recertification

Humana’s 2014 Medicare certification and recertification training and tests will be available on July 15, 2013. Delegated agents that are currently certified to sell 2013 plans will need to recertify to sell 2014 plans. If you were previously certified to sell plans, and then let the certification lapse you will need to attend a face-to-face certification training to be certified again. If you attend a face-to-face certification class after July 15, 2013, you must complete the 2014 MAPD on-line pre-work courses before attending class. Access the delegate pre-work by logging into www.humana.com .

Initial Certification Steps 1. Online Certification Pre-work The online portion of the initial certification must be completed prior to attending the face-to-face classroom training. The Delegated MAPD Pre-work course include:

IMPORTANT: If the agent has taken the AHIP testing through another carrier’s site, access AHIP again through the Humana agent portal and send the exam to Humana.

2. Face-to-Face Classroom Training Once the agent has completed the Online Pre-work they will be prompted to select the market for which they will be marketing Humana plans. When a class becomes available the market’s Humana MarketPOINT Sales office will contact them and schedule them for the upcoming class. The 2014 MAPD pre-work includes the 2014 AHIP training and testing. Once you have completed the Humana 2014 Medicare Advantage/ PDP certification class you will also be certified to sell any Humana 2013 Medicare Advantage/ PDP plan. The PDP only on-line course will be available the beginning of August. IMPORTANT: You must be certified for each product you plan on representing (HMO, PPO, PFFS and PDP). If a new product becomes available in your area that you have not previously been certified for, you will need to attend a face-to-face certification class. Your ID Card shows you what products you are currently certified for.

Humana’s Prescription Drug Plan (PDP) only initial certification and recertification training is now available online. Agents who have never completed the PDP certification training will be required to complete the initial PDP only certification course. If you are currently certified to sell only PDP products you will need to complete Humana's 2014 PDP recertification course. All certification training material and recertification material are available through the Humana Agent Portal and complies with the CMS federal requirements for all agents who wish to market Medicare plans. The material is very comprehensive and represents a combination of standardized training developed by America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) and CMS, as well as material developed by Humana.

Humana will reimburse agents up to $100 for AHIP fees under the following circumstances:

1.) Agent completes, passes and pays for AHIP via the Humana agent portal recertification/certification process. If they take the AHIP course directly through the AHIP site or another carrier’s site Humana will not be able to reimburse.

2.) Agent writes 5 MA plans or 25 PDPs effective January 2014 effective members – members must be accreted with CMS by March 7, 2014.

3.) No founded Section A or compliance violations.

IMPORTANT: After printing your transcript certificate, don’t forget to “click” the “send my exam completion to Humana” button at the bottom of the page. If you have taken the AHIP testing through another carrier’s site, access AHIP again through the Humana agent portal and send the exam to Humana. After completing the AHIP portion of testing –You must take the AHIP recertification course prior to beginning the Humana modules - and sending the transcript to Humana, you will continue on to complete the Humana portion of recertification. Click on the CLICK HERE to access online training link at the bottom of these instructions on the portal training page.

As the eLearning software begins to load you may see random internet system messages referencing an error trying to log you into the course. Do not be concerned by this message. Within a few seconds the CourseMill window will open and take you immediately to the My Courses page.

Click the green and white icon to access the course list.

After you click the icon, a list of the required training courses will appear. Start each course by clicking the blue and white launch icon next to the course name. After you complete a course and pass the exam you will be directed back to the My Courses page. Repeat the steps above until you complete all the required courses.

When you pass all courses and print out the completion certificate you should then click "logoff" located at the top right corner of the eLearning program window, close the eLearning browser window, and then refresh your Agent Portal browser page.

Annual Certification and Renewal Compensation Q: Do I still need to complete the SilverScript 2014 annual certification? A: Yes. Agents should complete the SilverScript 2014 annual certification curriculum as soon as it is practical but no later than the end of the annual enrollment period, for two reasons: 1) To answer client questions 2) To be eligible for 2014 renewal commission The 2014 SilverScript Agent Certification curriculum is available via the SilverScript Agent Portal’s Training & Certification tab. The curriculum incorporates the CMS certification content requirements including: Medicare overview, compliance guidance and product-specific information. The Product and Process course provides information on the 2014 plan designs. This is important information for you to review before your clients receive their Annual Notice of Change packets during September. It is important for you to complete the 2014 certification so you are prepared to discuss SilverScript topics with your clients enrolled in a SilverScript PDP.

Additionally, it is important for you to complete the 2014 certification to maintain your Good Standing status with SilverScript and be eligible for renewal compensation. Covers Medicare basics, Medicare products and corresponding regulatory requirements with a focus on the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) 2014 Medicare Marketing Guidelines. This program will conclude with an online 50-question exam, which must be passed with a grade of 85% or higher. UAM’s Corporate, Prodcuts and Procedures (CPP) Training:

Your successful completion of CORE is key to CPP training. You will earn about UAM’s 2014 MA products, services and corporate and regulatory requirements. You must complete the training and pass the corresponding exam with a score of 85% or higher for each product you wish to offer during the 2014 AEP.

2014 CERTIFICATION CHEAT SHEET

Required Prerequisites:

Universal American (UAM) Ma Contract

Annual Background Check – to be completed by UAM’s home office

UAM Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) attestation (including

HIPAA training, privacy and security)

UAM Code of Conduct Attestation

UAM Fraud, Waste and Abuse training and exam

UAM Agent Field Manual Attestation

Typically, the training takes about 4 to 5 hours, but individual completion time may vary. There is no time limit on completing the exams. HOWEVER, the site times out after 20 minutes of inactivity. You can log back in at the login page and select the module/lesson you were reviewing. You will be returned to the same point where you were in the lesson. Warning: If you are taking an exam and the session times out, it will count as an attempt. If you have an available attempt remaining, you can select the exam

but will need to start from question one. It’s important to know that once you are in an exam you must complete that exam in its entirety or lose an attempt if the session times out.

AHIP certification will be available June 24. UHC will accept AHIP certification or re-certification in place of 2014 Medicare Basics, 2014 Medicare Advantage Plans and 2014 Medicare Prescription Drug Plans certification.

NOTE: If you choose to certify via AHIP, you need to complete the 2014 certification BEFORE any other 2014 certification modules. Failure to do so will result in an AHIP score rejection.

If you choose to certify via AHIP, you will need to transfer the certification credits to UHC for the 2014 certification year through the UHC Learning Center, after completing the AHIP certification and once UHC certification launches in mid-July. If you are a returning AHIP user, your AHIP account will direct you to the appropriate re-certification modules.
