CENTENNIAL EDUCATION FOUNDATION
NEWSLETTER
2014 CEF Grants and Recognition Program
The Centennial Education Foundation (CEF) hosted a special grant
awards breakfast at Ann’s Choice Retirement Community on Tuesday,
April 22, 2014 honoring 40 teachers in the Centennial School District.
The program also recognized the individuals and businesses whose do-
nations helped make the grants possible.
Each year, the CEF honors individual teachers with up to $ 1000 of
funding to provide educational enrichment programs for their class-
rooms. Past examples of programs include funding for anti-bullying and
character counts programs, environmental education and health and wellness programs. This year, programs funded includ-
ed a traveling history program, using primary resources, author workshops and theatre and arts programs. CEF has award-
ed approximately $500,000 in grants to teachers since the organization’s founding in 1997.
This year included additional grant funding of $55,500 from the Pennsylvania Education Improvement Tax Credit (EITC)
program. Support from Hatboro Federal Savings, Quaint Oak Bank, Giant Food Stores, Fulton Bank, Susquehanna Bank
and Waste Management, made it possible for CEF to help fund the upcoming Summer Enrichment Program in Centennial.
The program will provide a variety of summer enrichment options for students including grades 4 through 8.
CEF also received a grant from the Burpee Foundation for $10,650 to support environmental education programs. Other
grants were presented in memory of Kyle Quinn, Ron Froggatt, Bob Burnley and John and Emma Schumann. Additional
support came from Quaint Oak Bank, W. Bruce Beaton Insurance, Ann’s Choice, Southampton Business and Professional
Association, Southampton /Warminster Lions and Lioness Clubs, TD Foundation, Schrenk Foundation and the Centennial
Education Association. Congratulations to all our award recipients and a huge thank you to all of our donors!

The best way to understand and experience Shakespeare is to “engage with the texts by performing scenes from the plays (Folger Shakespeare Library). Through a grant from CEF, Janemarie Cloutier and Molly Leahy’s classes at William
Tennent High School did just that. Here is a reprint of the days menu of activities. Sound like a great Shakesperience.

A Night with Ray Didinger
“Ray was great to listen to. I could have stayed another 2 hours.”
“I loved his sports knowledge and great stories.”
“Without a doubt, the best sportswriter/commentator in Philly.”
These were just some of the many comments about the great program Ray put on for us in March. Over 175 people attended the
event to help raise over $5000 for our student grant programs. If you know Philly sports you know Ray. CEF thanks Ray
Didinger, the CEF Board members and the silent auction and prize donors for a great evening.
