RWG Zed 2538 has been selected to represent our breeding program in the Breeders Choice Futurity. We feel that RWG Zed 2538 is an exceptional individual with a lot to offer our breed. RWG Zed 2538 is a top son of PHG Wizard W27(deceased), who was a great breeding bull that produced exceptional progeny including three brand name herd bulls; RWG Fire & Ice 1604, RWG Yikes 1512 and RWG Yaeger 1513. PHG Wizard W27 produced over $130,000.00 in progeny sales his first calf crop with his sons selling for an average of $10,055.00, and had two sons in the 2013 NWSS Grand Champion Bull Drive. RWG Zed 2538 represents only the second calf crop from PHG Wizard W27 and we feel he is in the same league as the other top Wizard sons and is the first black. RWG Zed 2538 has a very solid maternal backing as well. His Dam-RWG Veronica 9102 is an excellent RWG Royal Reserve 5066 daughter whose grandsire is the calving ease & maternal great VG 68N ET. RWG 9102 has done a great job for us, she raised a RWG Why-Me 9515 son as a first calver that we showed and sold at the Canadian National Show. RWG Zed 2538 is her second calf and in 2013 she has an excellent heifer calf sired by FLAD Dracula 57Y= Great production consistently! RWG Zed 2538 puts together a great set of numbers with very solid CUP ultrasound data posting a 110.5 REA index and an impressive 147.9 IMF index, combined with his moderate BW, excellent performance, and great pedigree he is a true herd bull who’s carcass EPD`s will dramatically improve once his ultrasound data is calculated in the next EPD run.

Here a powerful package, a thick topped, big hipped, deep quartered bull with loads of bone and lots of middle. Will add power and performance. Good showing at earlier shows and was Reserve Grand Champion at MO State Fair and IA Bred and Owned Champion at Iowa State Fair, and Reserve Senior Bull Calf at American Royal.

Here is a red bull with good calving ease and great individual performance and power. He is super deep ribbed and deep flanked, and yet very loose structured, correct and free moving. Here is a unique young herd sire that will add loads of rib and volume. He was well liked among the judges this summer and was Grand Champion bull at Missouri State Fair.

It is hard to accurately describe the unprecedented growth of ADOLPH. Our industry demands cattle to grow fast, stop and grade. We think ADOLPH will sire calves to do this based on the performance of his Dam XXB Miss Drew. She is the dam of Pegasus, Upward Bound, Sinbad, Sartorius and many other breed greats. Her milk combined with the growth potential of CRAN W24 has created a massive early maturing herd sire candidate with smooth muscle on a fluid moving skeleton. Words cannot describe the value of 01A, you must evaluate him yourself to fully appreciate his attributes.

Post Rock Dividend’s sire Future Investment was the most sought after and highest selling Purebred (7/8) bull of the entire 2012 bull sale season. He’s done an outstanding job in our program posting an 105 weaning weight ratio on his first calf crop and has yet to have se-men sales released. Dividend was raised on a most impressive Montana Infusion daughter who’s AI sire has been popular to add proven carcass and calving ease genetics. Dividend comes from a long line of productive cows with his grand dam ratioing 101-BW 106-WW on her first 3 calves and his great grand dam ratio’s 102-BW 115-WW ratio’s during her entire stay in our program. Individually, Post Rock Dividend is one of the very few calves out of first calf heifer whose ever had an 800 pound WW in our program. His EPD’s rank top 4% calving ease, 40% WW, and 30% YW with top 35% marbling, 30% carcass value, and 25% feedlot merit.

FHG Gun 36A is a homozygous polled outcross power bull with lots of natural base width, power and mass. His sire Gunslinger 19U is becoming more and more popular for his ability to add muscle and REA to his calves while maintaining moderate sized functional females. 36A’s mother and grandmother are currently both donor females at Flying H and continue to excel year after year. With a phenomenally proven cow family like that and the fact that 36A ranks in the top 5% of the breed for REA he promises to add pounds and muscle to his calves while adding value to his daughters for their maternal strength. We believe 36A represents our program well because he is sound, solid, functional, and fertile. Thank you for your interest and we would appreciate your vote for Mr Gun 36A.

TAU Jumpman 23A is rightfully named after the basketball legend Michael Jordan, and we feel he is as unique as Jordan. We believe Jumpman has the ability to become a breed changer as he is truly unique in his type and kind. This Double Black, Homozygous Polled son of HYEK Black Impact is out of a powerful donor cow that goes back to our herd bull BABR Tsunami. It’s tough to build a purebred that is this big bodied, bold ribbed, and still tremendously stout in his build. Jumpman uniquely adds to this power by being super attractive in his look. 23A is clean fronted, level made, and so correct in the angles of his skeleton. He holds his topline together on the move, and meets his track with a fault free stride on the lead. Cattlemen if you’re looking for a versatile breeding bull to fit any scenario and situation, Jumpman is your sire. There is no question in our minds that Jumpman has the ability to jumpstart any herd, and leave a mark on the Gelbvieh breed. A video is available at taubenheimgelbvieh.com.

Homozygous Black and Homozygous Polled, Huba Huba 32A is a Jan. 28th 2013 edition of the Navaho sired progeny. Navaho offspring in our 2013 bull sale were some of the very favourite and the high selling sale group. We sold a calendar year Navaho sired heifer at The Canadian Western Agribition Sale recently, for $8000. DVE Davidson Huba Huba 32A stood alongside his dam as she was named Grand Champion Female at the November, 2013 Canadian Western Agribition In Regina, Saskatchewan. A great young two year old Mum with an ideal utter, substance and loaded with engaging eye appeal. Ideal EPDS, mod-erate birth weight and an adjusted 205 of 852lbs round this bulls credentials out. Look for this young sire to carry a long sided, eye appealing stance, deep flanked and well muscled. Lots of scrotal development and disposition too. All the traits that are inheritable and most desirable!

DLW Alibi 31A comes from a cow family that should need no introduction. Alibi is bred identically to AI sire DLW Wardon 24W that has been working well in several programs. Known to sire muscle and correctness I expect Alibi to do the same. His ten year old dam is a full sister to the DLW 408P donor that now lives at TJB Gelbvieh in Georgia. His grand-mother showed excellent longevity and was productive to the age of 14. Maternal power is deep in this bull. Better yet this Homozygous Black, Homozygous Polled herd sire has the balance and look that we all strive for.

PHG Alpha Male A06 is our red entry in this years futurity. Offering a strong combination of calving ease, performance, and carcass numbers, he covers all bases on paper. Evaluate his phenotype and you’ll find a bull with the cleanliness and refinement to work on heifers, but the rib, top, and flank to work on cows. His mother is currently in our donor program and her first 3 calves landed a herd sire who is working for Wohl Farms in ND, a high sell-ing female at the ND Golden Rule sale to Cedar Top Ranch, and a high selling bull in our sale. If you’re looking for a bull that will work in a variety of situations, backed by a strong sire/dam combo, Alpha Male A06 is a solid choice!

Hilltop Farms is proud to present HTFG Mr Andy Dandy A613, our red, homozygous polled herdsire prospect, as our 2014 Breeders Choice Bull Futurity Entry. Phenotypically A613 has been a standout since birth as he is long sided, square hipped, big footed, massive topped and flexible. We purchased A613’s sire from Hojer Ranch in 2012 as a young new herdsire and have not been disappointed with his offspring. A613 has a exceptional growth from birth (87) to weaning (759) We purchase his dam out of the 2012 Iowa Beef Expo and she has been outstanding. She comes from the famed Arata cow family at Post Rock Cattle and Dawson Creek programs. Thank you for your consideration of HTFG Mr Andy Dandy A613 in the 2014 Breeder’s Choice Gelbvieh Bull Futurity. Hilltop Farms is committed to raising quality seedstock.

PHG Prairie Allstar A27 is our black entry in this years futurity. This calf has been turning heads everywhere he goes, and we’re confident that he’ll turn your head as well. Allstar offers an exciting combination of thickness and depth, with the profile and completeness we’re all looking for. Check out his EPD profile and you’ll notice that he offers all the traits we’re looking for - calving ease, performance, and carcass. With a pedigree that will be an outcross to a majority of breeders, we feel Allstar is a great representation of our program and where we’re heading. Here’s your chance to put an Allstar to work in your herd!

What a great piece here! Gringo takes some of the best parts of the Gelbvieh breed and puts it all together. He is sired by the National Champion Bull JDPD Akin 140W and out of a phenomenal Collateral daughter. Gringo is a big stout cowman’s bull. He stout boned, big topped and hip. The travels really soft with a long reach. He has an awesome spread on paper with a low birthweight EPD of 1.6 to a yearling of 92.

HTFB Mr Ariat A323 is our 2014 Breeder’s Choice Bull Futurity entry. Phenotypically, Ariat has been a standout since birth as he is a long sided, square hipped, massive topped individual that is certainly flexible and sound on his feet and legs as he has already proven himself on his first outing as champion spring bull calf at the 2013 Tulsa State Fair. This homozygous polled bull’s design and performance numbers could lead him to be the next best herd sire. We purchased Ariat’s sire, BNC Mr Hojer Y06Z, from the Hojer Ranch in 2012 as a young new red herd sire and certainly are very impressed with his offspring. Ariat is impressive on paper with a weaning weight of 846. Ariat’s dam, JRI Primo 214N8K is a no miss female that really knows how to wean and raise the good ones. We have retained several daughters of this great cow in our herd. There is no doubt Ariat will catch your eye in Denver and we would appreciate your vote at the 2014 Breeder’s Choice Gelbvieh Bull Futurity. Thank you for your consideration as Hilltop Farms is committed to raising quality seedstock.
