» WHERE DO I GO ON THE MORNING OF THE RIDE?The start line is on the southbound lane of the West Side Highway (12th Avenue) at West 46th Street. You should plan to arrive by 6:30 a.m. and head directly to the West Side Highway.

• If you're riding 55 or 100 miles, line up on the West Side Highway between W. 46th St. and W. 48th St. • If you’re riding 30 miles, line up on the West Side Highway between W. 48th St. and W. 52nd St. It’s VERY IMPORTANT that you line up in the correct chute on ride morning! Participants riding 55 or 100 miles will begin the ride by immediately traveling through the Holland Tunnel, while participants riding 30 miles will continue on the West Side Highway. We’ll have plenty of directional signage to guide you to the appropriate chute.

» HOW DO I MEET UP WITH MY TEAM?Head to the Team Meeting Area on the West Side Highway at W. 54th Street. Alphabetical signs (i.e. “A-C”, “D-F”, and so on) will be placed on the street, so you can tell your team members to meet you under the alpha sign that corresponds to your team name.

» IS THE PIER OPEN BEFORE THE RIDE?The pier is only open to Elite 200 Club Members and Elite Team Members before the ride starts. You can pick up your bike on Saturday, October 4 between 4 &7 p.m., or on ride morning between 6 & 7 a.m. If you rented a bike somewhere else, please contact them for pickup information.

» WHAT IF I NEED BIKE REPAIR?Danny’s Cycles and Metro Bicycles will be stationed on W. 54th Street between 11th Avenue and the West Side Highway the morning of the ride, to provide mechanical support. We recommend that you have your bike inspected BEFORE ride morning; only simple repairs can be provided at Bike MS NYC. Visit our website for a list of our bike shop partners.

» WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING WITH ME?In addition to your bright and cheery self, you should bring the following items:• Helmet (This is MANDATORY! We think your head is pretty important.)• Rider Numbers (Your bib number, helmet tag and bike tag identify you as an official participant.)• Pump, tire levers, patch kit and an extra tire tube • Appropriate clothing (Check the weather before you leave your home!)• Water bottles filled with water (Most rest stops will have coolers and/or hoses only.)• Fully-charged cell phone and Photo ID• Additional snacks, sunscreen and any necessary medication.

» HOW WILL I KNOW WHICH WAY TO RIDE?If you’re riding 30 miles, you will follow the NYPD and the crowd. You will complete a full loop of Manhattan – TRAFFIC-FREE! If you’re riding 55 or 100 miles, route maps and cue sheets will be distributed to you on the morning of the ride. You can also visit our website to see the route and elevation maps.

» WILL THERE BE ROUTE SUPPORT?There will be one rest stop on the 30-mile route at Inwood Hill Park. Rest stops will be provided every 8-12 miles on the 55 and 100 mile routes and will be stocked with water and snacks. Volunteer bike mechanics will be onsite to assist with minor repairs.

Support vehicles and the Westchester Beemers Motorcycle Club will be along the route to assist riders. In case of an emergency, please refer to the contact information on your rider bib. You are required to wear your rider bib for the entire ride. If you’re riding 30 miles, you must maintain a minimum speed of 10 mph. If you’re riding 55 or 100 miles, you must maintain a minimum speed of 12 mph.”

» HOW CAN I HELP ENSURE A SAFE RIDE?We want everyone to have a high quality, safe and fun experience at Bike MS NYC! Be aware of others around you and be considerate to your fellow riders.
