Wave start and start corrals The 2014 Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle 8K will feature three start waves and a start corral assignment process to facilitate a smooth and efficient start to the race. Your start wave is determined by your start corral assignment.

Follow directional signs within the start area to locate your assigned start corral prior to the race. Your bib color and number will correspond with your assigned wave and start corral and must be visible to gain entry into the proper corral.

• Wave 1: Start Corrals Elite, A, B, C and D will open at 6:30 a.m. and close at 8:20 a.m.• Wave 2: Start Corrals E and F will open at 6:30 a.m. and close at 8:35 a.m.• Wave 3: Start Corrals G, H, J, K and L will open at 8:45 a.m. and close at 9:05 a.m.

If you don’t know which start corral you’ve been assigned to, your start assignment information—your bib number, start corral and start wave assignment—will be emailed to you during the third week of March. This information—with the exception of your bib number—is also available for lookup on the online confirmation page: shamrockshuffle.com/confirmation.

Race day parking Public transportation is strongly recommended for race day transportation to Grant Park. Go to the Metra website (metrarail.com) or the CTA website (transitchicago.com) to plan your route by train or bus. If you drive, allow sufficient time for traffic congestion and street closures in the downtown area due to the race.

With ParkWhiz, you can book a parking space in advance for a variety of parking lots surrounding Grant Park and the Shamrock Shuffle course. Gear check Prior to the race, you can check clothing and other small personal items in your event-issued gear check bag at your assigned gear check tent. To check your gear, remove the gear check tag from your bib number and fasten it to your gear check bag using the instructions provided in your participant packet.

New in 2014: If you plan to check your gear on race day, please use your event-issued clear plastic bag (participant bag). If you choose to bring your own bag you may be asked to empty the contents of your bag into a clear plastic bag prior to checking your gear. The event will not handle oversized bags or luggage. Please do not check valuable items, such as wallets, money, phones or jewelry. The Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle 8K is not responsible for lost, damaged or stolen items. Do not leave bags unattended within Grant Park. Unattended bags will be confiscated and removed from the park.

Gear check tents will be open from 6:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. The location of your gear check tent corresponds with your start wave assignment and the color of your bib number.
