1 // PROGRAMMINGWHAT IS D6?// The name D6 refers to Deuteronomy 6:4-9 where we are commanded as parents to impress
God’s love and commands upon our children. We believe that in order to have a positive impact on your child’s
spiritual growth, it must involve the whole family.
THE MISSION // To excite kids and equip parents to bring Jesus Christ to the kitchen table.
THE VISION // A child that has a solid foundation in their faith knowing who God is and who he or she is in
Christ; ready to continue to grow in their faith and knowledge of God.
THE STRATEGY // Each aspect of our program is designed to excite your kids about learning and growing in
their faith and to equip parents to intentionally engage in the discipleship process of their children.
A D6 Child• Understands that scripture is God’s word and has application in his/her life.
• Has an understanding of what worship is and has experienced worship in the corporate setting and at home.
• Has an understanding of what prayer is and that God hears and answers our prayers.
• Has experienced the joy of loving beyond his/herself by serving God and others in a variety of ways.
• Has experienced Christian community through small groups & recognizes that he/she is an integral part of the body of Christ.
A D6 Parent• Uses curriculum map and Kitchen Kards to have home discussions pertaining to the scripture from each weekly lesson.
• Participates in family worship time and attends special family worship opportunities throughout the year.
• Incorporates prayer time as a priority in the family’s schedule.
• Serves God and others through trips, programming, and individual projects that complement the overall mission focus of the church.
• Participates in GroupLife to actively engage in Christian community.
Family Outreach Projects
Each month, D6 will host a Family Outreach Project. Our
goal is for children to experience the joy of serving God and
others in a variety of ways. We believe that this experience is
exponentially greater when shared as a family! Projects last
year included working with organizations such as Stop Hunger
Now, Meals on Wheels, and Union Gospel Mission. Mark your
calendar and make plans to join us!
In addition to our monthly outreach projects, families with
children in 3rd grade and up are invited to join us on our Spring
Break Family Mission Trip on March 8-13, 2015.
Family Fight Nights
Throughout the year, D6 will host a Family Fight Night to
fight for your family! Family time is often hard to come by
in our busy and overscheduled world. We want to help you
carve time out for you and your family to have fun together
with other D6 Families! Check out the calendar for our 2014-
2015 dates!
