“FOR THE RESIDENTS, BY THE RESIDENTS”
Happy Thanksgiving November 2014
More Than a Day
As Thanksgiving Day rolls around,
It brings up some facts, quite profound.
We may think that we’re poor,
Feel like bums, insecure,
But in truth, our riches astound.
We have friends and family we love;
We have guidance from heaven above.
We have so much more
Than they sell in a store,
We’re wealthy, when push comes to shove.
So add up your blessings, I say;
Make Thanksgiving last more than a day.
Enjoy what you’ve got;
Realize it’s a lot,
And you’ll make all your cares go away.
Remember that it is your civic duty to go out and vote. As American citizens and with all of the freedom of speech, you have a voice to elect the candidate of your choice. Voting is November 4th and for the people here in Southfork the voting poll is located at
Country Aire Estates, 38130 McDonald St which is located behind the Raceway gas station on RT 301.
Freedom is not Free
There is a price we pay for freedom
For it is not truly free
But rather paid for by the contributions of veterans
To buy our Liberty
As their blood drains from their body and runs like a river through the grass
I don’t think we all realize the importance veterans play
As they voluntarily serve America each and every day
We should honor the veterans for they act like a shield
Protecting us from danger, keeping America healed.
So if you would take a second to commemorate
You will instantly see
We owe veterans our gratitude
For they are the reason we are free.

I’m Thankful for You
Thanksgiving is the appointed time
for focusing on the good in our lives.
In each of our days,
we can find small blessings,
but too often we overlook them,
choosing instead to spend our time
paying attention to problems.
We give our energy
to those who cause us trouble
instead of those who bring peace.
Starting now,
let’s be on the lookout
for the bits of pleasure in each hour,
and appreciate the people who
bring love and light to everyone
who is blessed to know them.
You are one of those people.
On Thanksgiving,
I’m thankful for you.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Good way to meet your neighbors
Get to hear the Board and their accomplishments over the summer months
Looking for social Idea’s … tell us want you want and expect.
Looking for Activities Volunteers
We need your input, questions and suggestions (bring some with you)
For all members, there may be a vote on association issues needed and we need your input
Newer things happening and we want to make this an active year again!
COME ONE…COME ALL…VOLUNTEER…SOUTHFORK ASSOC NEEDS YOU
In order to continue our activities successfully, we need volunteers who are willing to donate their
time and talent as chair people and committee members for our various functions. There is a place
for everyone who would like to participate. Please join us, as a helper or a worker, whether you have
a little time or a lot, there is an activity which needs you and that could be selling of the 50/50 tickets,
set up or whatever. We need participation from all of you in order to have an interesting, active
association community which all of us can enjoy. If you can help in any way, please contact Dot Cady
or any of the board members which are listed on page 2 of the newsletter.
Women’s Club
On October 1st, 27 members met in the Clubhouse for their
monthly meeting. Thanks to Carol Albers and Katie Bellnier for
the festive look of the Clubhouse, which was beautifully
decorated for Halloween.
The Minutes and all the reports were read and approved. The
members were thanked for their generosity in bringing 2 cans of
food or more at every meeting to be given to Daystar to
replenish their pantry. This month we are collecting personal
and shower items for Daystar.
The grocery bags are needed again for the Christmas dinners to
be given to the needy and if you have any, please see Mary
Bolin.
Tables are still available for the Bazaar.
We had an excellent speaker from Dade City animal Clinic. Among
other subjects she stressed that rabies shots are required by
law in Pasco County and are very important. The Clinic is
looking for foster families for animals left there instead of
having to send these animals to the humane society which keeps
animals for 72 hours before putting them down. We presented
them with a check of $100.00.
Thanks again to Tanya for the raffled bags given out.
In November at our meeting we will have an Attorney to speak on
legal matters such as Wills, Living wills, Power of Attorney and
so much more. Your questions are welcomed and we will also have
a light luncheon with subs and dessert.
We are also inviting the spouses to attend this meeting and we
would like a full house. Please see the sign up sheet so we
will know how many are attending.
See you there
Marielle

Attention Male Golfers of SouthFork Once again, we have tee times every Wednesday at 10:00 am at the Zephyrhills Municipal Golf Course starting the last week of October. Last year we had a problem meeting the minimum number of golfers set by the golf course, so this year we will offer invitations to our neighbors at Blue Jay and Harmony heights to join us. We have had some golfers from each park golfing with us previously. Hopefully, toward the middle of the season we can develop some sort of a league format depending on your wishes. Fun and fellowship will remain our key ingredient! We welcome any golfing ability to our group, so if you know which end of the club to hold, please consider joining us.
Thanks, Bob Jones

November 2nd marks the end of Daylight Savings Time. Before going to bed on
Saturday night, remember to set your clocks back one hour. It is a good time to
replace the batteries in your fire detectors and the batteries in your flashlights
as well!
