SUBMISSION OF ARTWORK

1. Create your account at, K12.com/K12-art-competition. You will need to create

a separate account using a different e-mail address for each student you wish to enter.

2. Create a digital image of your artwork by either of these methods:

• Scan your artwork.

• Take a digital photograph of your artwork. Save your digital photo at the largest size

possible that does not exceed 1 MB. For example, a 5" x 7" digital photograph of your

artwork should be large enough for judges to see detail while still being smaller than 1

MB. If your digital image is larger than 1 MB, you can use a photo editing program (such

as Photoshop or Microsoft Office Picture Manager) to resize it by either lowering the

resolution (DPI) or by shrinking the image dimensions.

You can also change the settings on your scanner or digital camera to create an image with

a lower resolution.

Another way to resize your photo is to use an image optimizer, such as

www.imageoptimizer.net

Use the following settings

• Quality: Normal

• Max Width: 1200

• Max Height: 900

3. Save your digital image as a .jpg using the following file name and type:

[your last name]_[school]_grade.jpg Example: Gomez_WAVA_9.jpg

4. Log in to your account with the username and password you created in step 1. Upload your

file and give us a brief description of your artwork. Your artwork must be uploaded no
