General training information
Additional classesIn addition to regular scheduled classes, ABB Totalflow offers
alternative classes. They include:
– Self-paced online classes
– Remote online training by appointment
– Classes by appointment
Self-paced online classes
Two standard classes, Flow Computer-Level 1 (Z230e) and
Gas Chromatograph-Level 1 (Z231e) are available as self-
paced classes through the online ABB University website.
These classes are free, but registration and approval are
required. Upon approval, students may view segments at their
leisure. Windows® Media Player is required for these classes.
Remote online training by appointment
Three of our standard classes, Flow Computer-Level 1
(Z900), WinCCU32 Software (Z930) and Gas Chromatograph-
Level 1 (Z920) are available for remote training via the
Internet. Standard pricing is applicable for up to five (5)
remote locations with a maximum of ten (10) students total.
Additional locations require a surcharge. These classes are by
appointment only, and a minimum of 90 days is required for
scheduling. A purchase order covering the cost of the class
is required before a reservation may be held. Two curriculums
are offered:
– Standard three (3) day class: $2500
– Modified curriculum two (2) day class: $1500
Classes by appointment
Since it is not always convenient for a customer to send
employees to a training facility, ABB Totalflow offers training
programs at the customer’s site. For these classes, the
customer must provide classroom facilities, PC or laptop
computers, LCD projector equipment, and laboratory
materials. Items not provided by the customer can be
provided by ABB Totalflow with an additional charge for
shipping and handling.
A lead time of 90 days is required to provide sufficient time to
schedule customer-site courses. A purchase order or payment
covering the course and estimated travel and living for the
instructor must be received at least four (4) weeks before the
start date of the course. Two curriculums are offered:
– Standard three (3) day class: $9500 plus T & L*
– Modified curriculum two (2) day class: $6500 plus T & L*
*Travel and living expenses for the instructor will be billed at actual cost.
Classes are limited to eight (8) students, with additional
students billed at $250 each. Training requirements longer
than two (2) weeks in duration will result in an additional round
trip to the location for the instructor.
Custom classes or classes made up of subject materials from
more than one standard class require a detailed quote and will
include preparation time for the instructor and required class
materials.
