    lliance $1,000 Scholarships

    Dr. Judith J. Carrier2013 ScholarshipsThe Womens Alliance of the Arlington Chamber of Commerce focuses on empoweringand uniting women through business and community endeavors. Through the ChamberFoundation two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded. The recipients must be full-timefemale undergraduate studentscurrently enrolled at the University of Texas at Arlington orTarrant County College-Southeast Campus and pursue a course of study in any discipline.The students must be taking 12 credit hours in the Fall 2013 semester and must havesuccessfully completed a minimum of 12 credit hours of course work at UT Arlington or TCC- Southeast Campus.

    Applications must include the following:

    A student essay addressing how you can contribute to the continued growth and success1.of women by being committed to strengthening women as professional, business,community and civic leaders. The essay must be between 400-500 words maximum.

    Student essay must include a career development plan detailing a particular course of2. study and how that acquired knowledge will translate into achieving career goals in theworkplace.Two (2) school and community recommendations as dened on the Scholarship3.Application.Copy of On-Line Student Transcript showing GPA & total hours completed.4.

    Selection Process: Members of the Womens Alliance of the Arlington Chamber of CommerceScholarship Committee will review all applications received. The Scholarship Committeeand the Executive Committee of the Womens Alliance will make the nal selections. The

    top 3 applicants may be asked to interview with members of the Scholarship Committeeand the Executive Committee of the Womens Alliance. The winners will be asked to attendthe Annual Inspired Women Luncheon on November 1, 2013 where the scholarships will bepresented.

    Scoring: The essay will be evaluated based upon content, originality and overall impression which is worth 80% ofthe total score value. The school and community recommendations are worth 20%.
