    Youth Swim Lessons

    Parent & Child Aquatics6 months - 3 years

    Parents and children learn together to increase a childs comort levelin the water and build a oundation o basic skills, such as arm and legmovements and breath control. The two levels are un-flled and helpintroduce water saety concepts, encouraging a healthy recreationalhabit that your entire amily can enjoy.

    Minumum Participants: 5 Maximum Participants: 10

    Preschool Aquatics4-5 years

    Throughout the three levels, preschool-age children are taught basicaquatic saety, survival and swimming skills, while increasing their

    comort level in and around the water. Skills are age-appropriate, helpingchildren achieve success on a regular basisand enjoy social interactions with otherchildren. As in all Swimming and Water Saetycourses, your child will always know that itssaety frst.

    Learn-to-Swim6+ years

    Based on a logical, six-level progression that helps swimmers about6+ years old and adults develop their water saety, survival, andswimming skills. It is designed to give participants a positive learningexperience.

    Eligibility

    PerMCOP1700.27B,thefollowinggroupsareeligibletoparticipateinactivities conducted at the Quantico 50M Pool.

    ActiveDuty,CoastGuardmembers,Retirees,Reservists (priortomobilization)andtheirdependents

    MCCDC&MCCSCivilianEmployeesandtheirdependentsFBI&DEAmembersstationedatQuanticoandtheirdependents

    AvalidMilitaryIdenticationCard,CommonAccessCard(CAC),orDEA/FBIcredentials/badgesmustbepresenteduponenteringtheacility.

    Eligiblepatrons,whoareatleast16yearsofage,maysponsorupto4guestsbutmustremainwiththeirguestsatalltimes.Eligiblepatronswho sponsor guests shall assume al l responsibility or their guestsactions and behavior while visiting the Quantico 50M Pool.

    Inclement Weather,Refund, & Rain Check Policy

    The pool will close in the event o thunder, lightning, or other inclementweather and will re-open 30 minutes ater the last occurrence or atthe discretion o the Aquatics Director or designated sta member. Allpatrons must vacate the water and the pool deck during inclementweather. Patrons may wait in the locker rooms during a storm but areprohibitedfromtakingshowersorusingthesinks.Refundswillnotbeissued or closures due to inclement weather, however, rain checks maybe issued to receipt holders.

    Swim Test Policy

    All children 15 years o age or younger, who wish to swim in the deep

    end or without direct adult supervision, must successully completeaswimtest.Theswimtestconsistsofa25yardswim(breaststrokeorfreestyle),andaoneminutetread.Childrenwhodonotsuccessfullycomplete the swim test or do not want to take the test will not bepermitted to use the 50M Pool Slide or diving board and must be withinarms reach o their guardian at all times.

    Childrenonlyhavetotaketheswimtestonceperseason.Thetestwillbegivenatleastonceanhourduringbreak/adultswimtimewhichis 45 minutes ater every hour. Upon passing the swim test children willbe added to the swim test completion log and will receive a wristbandwhen they enter the acility.

    Rules & Regulations

    1. Children10yearsofageandover,whohavesuccessfullycompletedtheswimtestmayusethepool unaccompanied.

    2. Children9years ofageandyounger,regardlessofsw immingability,mustbeaccompaniedbyaparent or guardian who is 16 years o age or older.

    3. Children15yearsofageoryoungerwillnotbepermittedinthedeependandmaynotusethediving boards or water slides until they have passed a swim test given by a sta member.

    4. Parents or guardians o non-swimming children may not position themselves under the divingboards or slide to catch their child.

    5. Childrenundertheageof7andlessthan4feettallmustbewithinarmsreachandunderdirectsupervision o an individual at least 16 years o age.

    6. Persons accompanying children under the age o 10 must remain in the pool area with them andare responsible or their care and conduct.

    7. Restperiodsarerequiredforpatrons15yearsofageoryounger,every15minutesbeforethehour.8. All patrons are required to pay prior to entering the pool.9. Participants in water aerobics, swim lessons, physical training, or any other activity outside o

    normal pool hours or programming, must exit the pool upon completion o activity.10. Watertight swim diapers must be worn at all times by children who are not potty trained.

    Disposable swim diapers may be worn only when used in conjunction with a water tight swimdiaper cover.

    11.Animals,withtheexceptionofSeeingEyedogs,arenotallowed.12.Thefollowingitems/situationsarenotallowed:

    a. Diving outside o designated diving areas b.Radiosorothermediadevicesthatdonothaveearplugsforpersonallistening.

    Volume should be adjusted or individual listening.c. Proanity or vulgar remarks.

    d.Horseplay.

    e. Public displays o aection. Bicycles, rollerblades, skateboards, etc. in pool area.g. Throwing o bathers or allowing them to dive rom shoulders, hands, or knees.h. Allowing bathers to sit or hang rom head or shoulders.i. Dunking or chicken fghting.

    13.Fightingisforbidden.14.Foodanddrinksareonlyallowedindesignatedareas. a.Onlyfoodanddrinksinplastic/aluminumcontainersarepermitted.15. Glass or ceramic containers, o any type, are strictly prohibited.16. Lap lanes are or lap swimming and aquatic exercise only.17. Do not leave valuables unattended or in an unlocked locker. Quantico 50M Pool not responsible

    or lost or stolen items.18.Alcoholandillegalsubstancesarenotallowed.Individualswhoappeartobeundertheinuencewillnotbeallowedinthefacilityand/orwillbeaskedtoleavethefacility.

    19.Non-Glassswimmasksandgogglesmaybeused,butdivingintothepoolfromtheedge,slide,ordiving board while wearing these devices is prohibited.

    20. Snorkels are not allowed.

    a.Exceptionswillbemadeforthoseindividualswishingtouseasnorkelforlapswimmingpurposes who provide a letter rom their physician.

    21. Showers must be taken each time beore entering the pool. a.Thisincludesaftersunbathing,applyingsunscreen/oil,orpersonalhygieneitems(hairspray,deodorant,lotion,etc.)

    22. Swimsuits or clothing that serves the purpose o covering the body during swimming are required.Thong bikinis, transparent clothing, and cut os are not permitted.

    23. Individuals who have sores, an inectious or communicable disease or bandages will not bepermitted in the pool.

    24. Ladders, stairs, and lits are or entering and exiting the pool. Please do not congregate aroundthese structures.

    25.Floatationdevicesthatmaydetachfromtheswimmerarenotpermitted.Noodlesmaybepermitted, at the discretion o the manager on duty, in the shallow end only.

    26.Thepoolwillbeclosedtoallincomingpatrons,regardlessofstatus,whenauthorizedcapacitylimits have been reached. Patrons will be admitted only when numbers decrease and space isavailable on a frst-come, frst-served basis.

    27.Conversationswithlifeguardswhoareondutyshouldbekepttoaminimum.28. The lieguards on duty serve as competent authority to enorce pool rules and regulations.29. The Aquatics Director reserves the right to deny use o the pool and acility to anyone who is

    observed in violation o these pool rules and regulations.
