Zamora’s dam, MAGS Silhouette, is now owned with Stowers Limousin and is quickly earning her way to be a trait leader for marbling and combined with the REA and IMF Lim-Flex trait leader, COLE Windfall. This young donor prospect has no Rulon or Lodestar and has endless mating opportunities.

Yoga is a flushmate to LFL Secret Desire, a high seller at the 2012 Cowtown Classic and purchased by Layton Schur. Another flushmate is being shown by Raston Copeland. Their dam is DHVO Alma Jo, a flushmate to Deuce and Trey, and has quickly earned a top spot in our donor pen at LFL. Calf will be homo black and double polled. Hello Friends,

I hope everyone had a good Christmas and are ready for the New Year. A great way for Limousin enthusiasts to start the New Year is the Cowtown Classic Limousin Sale, Level I Medal of Excellence Show, and the TLA’s annual member meeting on February 1 & 2 in Fort Worth, Texas.

The Fort Worth Stock Show is one of best of its kind in North America and is a great venue for Limousin breeders to exhibit their product to potential customers and see firsthand the best genetics the breed has to offer. This year’s Cowtown Classic may be the strongest offering yet with 43 lots consigned by several breeders from across the country. The annual meeting will give members the opportunity to vote on new directors and hear what the association plans for 2013.

The weekend events will conclude with a social hour, dinner and banquet. It is a great time to visit with old friends and make new ones. The benefit auction completes the night and is an important part of the TLA’s budget. If you would like to donate items to the auction please contact the TLA office, Marci Perrin at (940) 393-3357 or Vicki Brehm at (210) 771-3147.

The Radisson Fossil Creek Hotel in Fort Worth is the host hotel for all of the events and a TLA room block has been set up. We hope to see you there.

Sincerely,

Ralph Hawkins

Hello TJLA members,

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! I hope everyone is enjoying the

holidays. However, the stock show season is approaching us quickly. Fort

Worth is just around the corner and we hope to see all our friends and the

TJLA family there. Be sure to check your tattoos while you’re packing the

showbox. Fort Worth is also having the second Lone Star Shoot-Out show on

Saturday, January 26 at 4 p.m. We wish all of the exhibitors the best of luck on

both days of showing.

After Fort Worth, San Antonio is up next. Load up the trailer and travel

on down the highway. We hope to see all of our friendly people show up a

little further south. TJLA will be planning a get-together dinner social, going

out to eat as a big family. I am looking forward to seeing everyone at all the

events.

Be safe in your travels and see you at the majors,

Layton Schur

TJLA President

Linda BaBer FamiLy Fun day & QuiLT raFFLeLast year the TLA and TJLA lost a great friend

with the passing of Linda Baber. Linda truly enjoyed the junior activities and was always ready to lend a hand. A family fun day has been planned to honor Linda’s memory at the 2013 Field Day in Bryan. Alysa Smith has made a quilt of t-shirts from several previous Junior Nationals and has donated it to raise funds for the family fun night. Raffle tickets are being sold on this quilt at a cost of $5 each and a drawing will be held at the TLA banquet Saturday February 2. Tickets may be purchased by contacting Dina Schur (806) 296-7607.

See you at the Stock Shows!!

Put Heterosis To Work For YouThere is no doubting the value

crossbreeding brings in terms of enhanced growth, longevity and maternal efficiency through heterosis. We believe YRTX Xberry 218X exhibits the traits we strive for in our crossbreeding programs. He may be one of stoutest halfblood bulls we have ever seen. He is big-topped, big-butted, moves freely on both ends, and is extremely docile.

We are offering semen on this top young son of the Red Angus sire, Red Fine Line Mulberry, and a great daughter of Blaque Rulon and EF Mystical 155M.

Denver, Colorado and Fort Worth, Texas will see history repeat itself with the offering of a pick of the flush from Amy Jo DHAN 20L. It was in Fort Worth when the first pick of the flush was offered from this great cow. That flush wrote a significant page in the Limousin history books when the flush produced Ace, Deuce & Trey – the trifecta of sires whose semen packages were the high selling lots at several Cowtown Classic sales. Their offspring have proven their worth in the show ring and the pasture. The females from this same flush were Alma Jo and Ashton Jo show ring winners and proven donors.
