Creative curriculum, sport activity, literacy, science, swimming and art allow for lots of individual choices in an ideal setting. Bus Transportation to the Ipswich YMCA for the after school program is provided from the Winthrop/Doyon schools in Ipswich and the Essex Elementary School. Parents have the option to choose a schedule that best meets their needs. A two-day minimum is required.

KIdS GET FIT-TASTIC

AT THE Y

FIT-tastic Kids is a program developed by the YMCA of the North Shore to teach kids ages 8 to 14 how to eat a healthier diet and increase daily physical activity. In this program participants will learn how to make healthy food choices, bring home recipes and ideas to their families to continue healthy lifestyle habits at home and find ways to get moving throughout the day. The goal is for both kids and their families to be FIT-tastic together.

FIT-tastic Kids offers flexible scheduling for each family to begin at any time. An 8-week Y youth membership is included when participating in this program. FIT-tastic Kids is free for participants and their families because of the generosity of donors and grantors.

Teen Circuit Ages: Grades 6-8Fee: Y Members FREEHave a blast in this fun and active aerobics class. Grab some friends and come give it a try. Taught by Fitness Instructor Brenda. Class length is 45 minutes.IPS Tuesdays/Thursdays 2:45pm

Skate Trip to Rye Airfield Ages: Grades 6-10Fee: Y Member $50 Community $60Skateboard, scooter or rollerblade with the Y at Rye Airfield Skateboard Park in Rye, New Hampshire. Rye Airfield is New England’s premier indoor skate park with 50,000 square feet of ramps, rails, stairs and bowls. Kinderswim - Essex SchoolAges: Grade KFee: $11/week, register by monthEssex Elementary School students have the option to be picked up after school by the Ipswich YMCA and go to the Y for swim lessons. Parents must pick up children at the Ipswich YMCA pool. Registration is done on a monthly basis with swim registration forms sent home. IPS Wednesday 1:00pm

Fitness AssessmentAges: 18 years and upFee: Y Member Only $25Let one of our personal trainers assess your fitness level by testing your ability in the five components of fitness: cardio respiratory endurance, muscular endurance, muscular strength, flexibility and body composition. This assessment will allow us to identify risk factors and create an efficient and effective exercise program. Fee can be applied to a package of personal training sessions.
