We recommend that all 3 year olds complete a parent and child class before participating in Tee Ball Skills. This is an outdoor class. Instructor provided by Motions, Inc.

Broad Ripple Park has made special arrangements for Santa to call your child direct from the North Pole. Santa will be making his calls on Thursday, December 13th between 6:00-7:00pm. Gingerbread Houses
Make from scratch your very own delicious gingerbread house to enjoy throughout the holiday season. Your house will be decorated with all kinds of 'sweets' that will be provided for you. All houses will be made with graham crackers for easier handling and decorating. Children 5 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Optional: For parents with children ages 5 and up, you can also make a gingerbread house of your very own. Just register under class code 195550 for Friday and 195551 for Saturday. Build and bring to life real working machines. Create a spinning top, a singing monkey, and many other exciting and challenging creations. We will use LEGO building sets to assemble the projects and then animate those projects using laptops with software. The class will enrich your child's modeling and computer abilities, along with teaching them basic engineering and design skills.

Family Friday Night Campfire: Eeek- Bats!
Join us for a special Family Friday Late-Night Campfire! After roasting marshmallows around the campfire, we'll learn more about these mysterious creatures on a special night hike with Ryan Slack, one of the few people in Indiana permitted to handle nature's only flying mammals. The late-summer date should improve chances we'll catch some of the park's bat residents and get to see their beauty up-close.

Although they look delicate, Monarch butterflies are strong enough to migrate to Mexico for the winter. Scientists use tiny stickers to identify individual butterflies and learn more about this incredible journey. Hoosier Canoe Club
Thatcher Pool is a great place for kids and grownups to try kayaking in a safe, warm environment. Volunteers from the Hoosier Canoe Club will encourage you try their boats and teach you basic paddle skills and safety tips. Every first Wednesday of each month, Kids have the opportunity to learn kayaking techniques for FREE. Must register two weeks in advance. Paddlers who catch the bug can get advice about boats and gear, learn how to roll or self-rescue a kayak and join the HCC on paddling trips across Indiana and beyond.
