HIDDEN TREASURES

Spring Recital May 11, 2013

Avast Ye! Welcome to our annual Spring Recital and Awards Ceremony. Students have been working hard this year with our “Hidden Treasures” pirate theme. They have advanced ranks on a treasure map that represented their practicing throughout the year. They earned pirate “booty” (aka jewels) by remembering the Hidden Gems in their music (Notes, Rhythm, Dynamics, Technique and Expression), completing scales, passing off online theory assignments, memorizing pieces, participating in events throughout the year, earning practice keys and more! The best part is yet to come when they get to “spend” those jewels at our upcoming auction party! A special thank you to parents, grandparents and any other family members and friends that make sure students come to lessons practice their pieces each week. I know the process sometimes feels like a roller coaster ride at times and without you, your child would not be as successful. You are the backbone to make sure things are done. Trust me when I say they will thank you later for the wonderful gift of music that you have given them! Please enjoy your child’s performance! Mrs. Foxx

The first time you looked at the piano, you said, "I can not do this, it is hard". But because you did not give up; the many hours of practice and effort you made; you did it! You have learned how to play the piano! You have accomplished something wonderful, and I am proud of you. Every time you sit-down and play the piano, let it remind you that you really can accomplish anything! If there is a wall in your life that blocks your way, you now have proof that with enough effort and time, you can get past that wall. To all three of you, Good Job son! Love, Dad
