Philosophy

Horizon Design Studio believes that it is the quality of our

immediate surroundings which influence our quality of life,

weather at home, office or public space. It is not just buildings

but urban design that affects our well-being. We are concerned

with the physical context of a project, sensitive to the culture

and climate of their place. HDS investigates and produces

space in response to life, the potential of function, the

character of place and the nature of material and believe that

the fine buildings are the result of a continuous design process

in which client and architect work together in achieving best

of architectural quality. Our expertise is based upon a solid

foundation of budget, process and program control, and an

intensive dialogue with the city, the client, consultants,

contractors and end users.

HDS realized that the best in the new must touch the best in

Old. We are traditionalist as well as modernist and feel that a

purification of architecture in terms of our own time might also

take back to its roots. It is important for us to look at the whole

continuum of sustainable architecture and must consider the

impact of their design on environment. It is our obligation to

meet the future with a full understanding that sustainable

architecture must become the commonplace in design, we are

ultimately responsible for the wellbeing of not only our buildingsand building users, but the very fabric of nature and

environment.

Profile

Horizon Design S tudio Private Limited is an established architecture practice basedin Gurgaon, India with a good portfolio of notable work. The P ractice has a staff ofabout a dozen well-skilled, talented individuals including directors, associates, fourarchitect assistants, two interior designer and administrative and supporting staff.A positive, friendly and creative atmosphere characterizes the HDS practices studio.

HDS provides architecture, interior design, restoration, urban design and consultancyin NCR and all over India. Our Project varied from interior of corporate office of10000 Sq ft to high density multi storey group housing of 500 Dwelling units to 500and 1000 sq. yards residential houses and Villa.

HDS is keen to expand and diversify its portfolio and we are looking for interestingand challenging project all over India. We believe that the architects who understandand respect the local vernacular architecture and material leads directly to increasedinnovation and better design.

The M ahendra M eadow | Sector 67, G urgaonPlanning Stage

Site Area: 16 Acres

The Mahendra Meadow is high rise multi storey residential development designed on an area of approximately16 acres with more than 600 apartments of 5 different sizes. The project includes the facilities like Club, OutdoorAmphitheater, Swimming Pool basement covered parking etc.

Designed by Horizon Design Studio, the apartments are impressive from the outside, with their good size glasswindows and pure white walls; each naturally illuminated living space offers superb views that make the most ofthe surrounding landscapes and urban panoramas. Each apartment has its own private open balcony.

Majority of apartments at their premier terraces will form part of exclusive joint blocks-high rise towers with two,three and four bedroom apartments in a range of floor plan configurations each with a large balcony and excellentfinishing. The highlight of these towers will be the spectacular three and four bedroom apartments which willprovide breathtaking views from their balconies over greens and beyond. An iconic 4 bedroom tower will gracethe project at its entrance.

Completion - 2010


Project Value INR 15 Lakhs

Year 2010 saw HDS move into newly

extended office on the same floor of

their existing office. HDS occupies the

rear area of the second floor, 1600 sq.ft

with double height space and large

size terraces at different level. The

Studio has been creatively designed to

provide maximum indirect sunlight &

cross ventilation with double height

space to link the two levels offering a

flexible working environment.

The existing building is a masonry

structure so no additional load could

have been added, therefore, heavy steel

columns are introduced and Steel

Structure is applied and half of the

load is transferred to these massive 45

feet steel columns. The final result is awell natural lit contemporary Steel and

Glass building with excellent quality of

space.

K - 4 | South City 1, Gurgaon


Completion - 2009

Project Value INR 1 Crore

The objective was to design a 5000sq ft house for the client & his sons family.

The project is spread over three floors with three bedrooms with attached

Toilet, Kitchen, Drawing & Dining on first two floors and one bedroom on the

third floor. The stairs are designed to interconnect the spaces on the two floors

and also to acquire the indirect natural light it also act as triple height space

within the house which is spread over a plot of 300 square meters.

Completion - 2008


Project Value - INR 90 lakhs

This 264 sq. meter plot is opposite to a well known commercial area of DLF Central Arcade. The Client

wanted to have an option of the building being used for non nuisance commercial activities. The building

consists of basement along with three floors covering a total area of around 6000 sq.ft. All floors are

designed to an open hall with minimal structural column and with maximum natural light and ventilation.

The client with an artist background gave strong colors to the faade of the Building.

Hare Krishna House No 22 | Sector 31 & 32, Gurgaon

Project Value INR 1.5 Crore

The brief was to design a house on 1000 sq. yard plot for large typical Indian J oint family of two brothers

family each with grown up son. The house was to be designed in such a way that both the brothers family

gets almost equal area in terms of mathematics and economics. Also a provision for future distribution

amongst two sons each should be provided. Therefore a Single House to be designed which could

accomodate two close families and then each part should again be divided into two separate units still

keeping the character of the house as one. It become little more complicated since the house has to be

designed in keeping as Vastu Shastraas most important priority.

The design came out to be a non-intrusive, minimalist approach, allowing maximum Indirect light from

east and north. The house has three floors along with massive well lit open basement level and two

separate flats on top floor. The ground and First floor are identical. All the levels are connected with a

triple height space which also brings northern light. The interiors are designed in clean, natural and

hardwearing materials. The floors are of white marble and Indian stone. The exteriors are on natural

stone and slate and white render with some other selected element finishes.

M ahendra Buildways Pvt Ltd | D LF City 1, G urgaon


Completion - 2011


Project Cost INR 35 Lakhs

Along with the group housing project the Mahendra Meadow this is another Project for Mahendra

Buildways P vt Ltd. With the growing requirement and rush the Company decided to shift to the larger

office of the area 2500 square feet which was to be renovated and refurbished.

The existing building is masonry structure so no walls could be moved. The office is facing a busy golf

course road so to avoid the noise pollution and dust, double entrance is added. The office is designed

with simple, minimalistic & rustic interiors, white granite is used on floor and oak veneer is used for

paneling. The interior of the office is kept light with dark wenge oak furniture. Kota stone paved areas at

the front and the rear of the office are introduced which could be used for functions and gathering.

National Hearing Care India | G lobal Business Park, G urgaonCompletion - 2010


With growing business and one of the many new offices in recent time in Gurgaon NHC leased this 1000

sq ft office in posh sixth floor at Global Business P ark, Gurgaon just across S ikanderpur metro station.

The requirement for the office was medium size conference room, two managers cabin and work station

for ten & other spaces like Pantry, Toilet, Storage space etc. The Client wanted to use dark timber texture

on wall and give a natural dark timber effect in office.

Pent House Sahara G race | G urgaonCompletion - 2009

Project Value - INR 1.10 Crore

This Four Bedroom penthouse is located on 10th Floor of a high end apartment complex covering more

then 6000 sq feet area along with a large terrace including swimming pool. The penthouse also includes

large formal drawing room, study room, Pooja room, gym, dining room and family lounge

The project has been designed with state of the art specifications in contemporary style, which includes a

800 sq.feet terrace with swimming pool, a faade glass aquarium with a waterfall incorporated in it. Italian

bottochino marble has been used on floors. Rich coffee dyed oak veneer has been used for furniture and

doors. A beautiful terrace garden has been designed around the pool providing essential shade andprivacy.

National Hearing C are India | Solitaire Plaza, G urgaonCompletion - 2009

Project Value INR 18 lakhs

National Hearing Care opened another office in Solitaire Plaza covering the area of 1500 sq.ft including

fifteen workstations, two cabins, conference room etc. This is the third offices for NHC designed by

Horizon Design in Gurgaon.

The Office and Retail Market provides a unique set of challenges to design team and Horizon Design

team are well placed with a growing level of experience and expertise in this sector to offer the quality

and type of Service to suit our offices and Retail Client.

The project was to design flagship store for luxury furniture brand. The site total area was around

6000 sq.ft of Carpet Area. The project is designed on minimalistic and straight line scheme so as

to match with furniture design. The entire space has been kept as single hall with white interiors

so as to provide a perfect background for the furniture large size glasses have been given to

rovide maximum visibility.

Krishna Villa, Dhorka | Gurgaon

Completion - 2011

Project Value INR 90 Lakhs

The brief for this project was to design a house for Mr Ved Prakash

and his only son. Ved Prakash beinga great devotee of Lord Krishna

wanted to build this house keepingthe ancient Hindu tradition,

philosophy and Vastu Shastra as basic principal. The site being odd

in geometry didnt help with the design. The requirement was to

accommodatea multipurpose hall which could be used for

commercial purpose at latter stage.

The house is on two levels with three bedrooms and a spaciousterrace. The design follows a simple straight line minimalist approach

with a stone clad front wall as architectural element. As the house is

South West facingtherefore a box balcony is introduced to avoid

directIndian summer sun.

The office has been designed to accommodate maximum nos of workstations

along with 03 cabins and a conference room; all partitions are designed in

glass to allow maximum natural light inside the Office. A common corridor

gives access to cabins and workstations thus maximizing use of space, white

and grey colors theme gives office a modern look enhancing the feel of space.

Project Cost - INR 35 Lakhs

India Recypa is fast emerging firm based on the idea of "Recycle, Reuse" of

paper. The Company's healthy growth led to shift to a bigger office space in

central location that is Modi tower, Nehru Place Delhi.The Office of 1800 Sq ft

was in miserable condition of 1960's high rise block which was renovated and

refurbished with care. The requirement was of two cabins, conference room,

accounts room, toilets and pantry with about 2 dozen work stations.The office

is influenced by "Minimalist approach" with NO "Heavy Interiors" . However

Contrast Colour combination is used. The materials used in the office is of

highest lever of material available in the market.

Barter Guru Consultant | IT Spaze Park, Gurgaon

Completion - 2012


The office has been designed in three months to accommodate about a Dozen

workstations and a Conference cum directors cabin.

The Client wanted to keep an open office with very light color material used, the

office is well lit and a very comfortable place to work at.

The office has the best and most state of the art materials and equipment used.

A common corridor gives access to cabin and workstations thus maximizing useof space, white, Cream and grey colors theme gives office a modern look

enhancing the feel of space.

Office - 425 | IT Spaze Park, Gurgaon

Completion - 2012


The office has been designed to accommodate a small business center

consisting of one meeting room, 04 cabins and 18 workstations. The

office is designed in such a way that a cabin can share workstation in

multiple of three with common meeting rooms & reception. Glass

partition has been used wherever possible to allow maximum sunlight.

Use of light colors & contemporary design give a very spacious look

to the Office.

Cadsoft Technologies | IT Spaze Park, Gurgaon

Completion - 2012

The aim was to design an office for cad institute over an area of around 1800 sqft.

The layout accommodates multiple functions like conference cum training room,

lecture rooms and usual work station. A very open type of planning with maximum

use of glass has been incorporated to allow maximum visibility within the office and

to permit penetration of natural light in the whole office.

A very light color theme along with high ceiling height makes the office look

spacious.

Kumar Farm House | Delhi

Completion - 2012

Project Value: 95 lakhs

The Client wanted to develop his One acre Farmland into his Residential Villa which is a posh Delhi Locality.

The Requirement of the client was four bedrooms with attached toilets, living room, dining room and kitchen.

The total built up area of the two storey house is 450 square meter.

The client wanted the Classical; Georgian influenced (Colonial) elevations. The House has a stone portico and

balustrade and double height lobby. Each Room have own private balconies looking towards the front garden.

Chattarpur Farm House | South Delhi

Completion - 2013

Project Value: 25 lakhs

The Client wanted to develop his plot

in affluent south Delhi Neighborhood

as a Weekend "Home / F arm House".

The Requirement of the client was two

bedrooms with attached toilets, living

room, dining room and kitchen on the

Ground level only. The total built up

area of the Single storey house is

approximately 200 square meter.

The client wanted the straight lines, a

simple and easy to execute design

that can be constructed in less than

six months. The House has a beautiful

east facing portico overlooking the

main garden also connected to the

living room. The House is a Contem-

porary minimalist design with local

material used in construction.
