The South Suburban Tennis Academy (USTA Organiza-
tional Member www.sstatennis.com) conducted a interactive
tennis activity at the Taste of Orland in Orland Park, IL on
Saturday, August 3. We arranged our space into seven sta-
tions at which a different activity was done. We were empha-
sizing the 10 and Under Tennis program. (Thanks to USPTA
for supplying us with some posters.) At each station, an ac-
tivity that demonstrated some of the 10 and Under Tennis
drills and a,b,c's were conducted. There were 70 parents
who signed up their children for the free 10 and Under Tennis
USTA memberships. There were more than 120 children who
participated in our activities. We are looking forward to
teaching the 10 and Under Tennis program at all our sites in
the future. It was a fun time for all!

O n June 14th to the 16th the USTA/Midwest Section hosted a team competition between Midwest

only from the Super Excellence Program to participate. Player's from the 12s & 14s are selected to par-

T his was the first year that all 10 age groups were hosted and run by clubs and or-

pate over three weekends, and we endorsed 132 players and 168 alternates to the Mid-
west Closed.
We would like to thank Oak Brook Tennis Center, College Park Athletic Club, WTS Tennis
Services, H-F Racquet Club, Northwestern University (Combe Center) & The Libertyville

thanks again to the tournament directors who ran the host sites and our volunteers for
