The Yankees, with a roster heavy with major college commitments, were undefeated in the event and beat Team Georgia 5-4 in the semi-fnals to advance to the championship game. The East Cobb Astros were the 6 seed entering the championship round and advanced to the title game with a 3-1 win over the Upstate Mavericks Black team.

The Ballpark at Patriots Point is the home of Cougar Baseball.The facility opened in the spring of 2001, and was part of a $3 million renovation completed in the summer of 2007.

The newly renovated facility features covered seating, an expanded press box with 2 radio booths,a hospitality deck and expanded seating to 2,000.

Also on site are locker rooms, an athletic training facility, practice eld and a 4,200 square foot indoor practice facility.
