Thank you for considering American Tackle! We hope you will find our new catalog

informative and educational. We think it is our best yet.

About a decade ago we decided to completely transform our company. We set out with one

goal in mind - to produce the finest rod components in the world. We took our hard earned

experience in the industry and completely revamped the product line from top to bottom.

We looked at the quality of our products and asked ourselves where we could improve and

what new technologies could we utilize. We invested heavily in CADD/CAM engineering, rapid

prototyping, new tooling and new state of the art manufacturing processes. We tested and

retested against our competition. The outcome has been the introduction of superior guide

designs, new manufacturing processes, new plating and new materials that result in improved

rod performance. This focus on increased quality and innovation has pushed the American

Tackle Company brand to the top of the rod building world.

Although we think we have achieved the lofty goal of being the worlds best, we will never

stop trying to improve. We are constantly looking at new ways of doing things. Our designs

are not solely based on lab results but actual fishing conditions and feedback from our

extensive Pro-Staff and customers. With over a hundred years of rod building & design

experience on our staff we remain focused on the goal of producing the worlds best rod

components.

Our expansion into the worlds markets with the opening of offices in Europe and China will

further build American Tackle Company into a worldwide brand that will live on for decades

to come. Whether it is in the mature markets of the EU or the emerging markets in Asia,

American Tackle Company is becoming the most trusted brand in the business. We are

always looking for a way to transform the industry and we think we have with our latest

offering of the MicroWave line control system. Our customers tell us this is the single

biggest development in rod guides in 40 years..it is that good. The late Doug Hannon

affectionately known as the Bass Professor and the inventor of this concept came to us

to first perfect and then to market this truly revolutionary product using our knowledge and

experience. To say it was a marriage made in heaven is a vast understatement. You will see

MicroWave guides everywhere in the coming months and years. We view it as a milestone,

a paradigm shift and a game changer all rolled into one.

We will never sit on our laurels. We have numerous plans for new products in the coming

months. There are several projects in various stages of development preparing for

MicroWave LINE CONTROL SYSTEM

Introducing the MicroWave Guide System by the American Tackle Company. Inventor

Doug Hannon also known as The Bass Professor partnered with American Tackle to

conceive, design and manufacture the perfect line control system for spinning rods.

The system addresses coiling-memory issues with monofilament but its ideal for

braided lines and really something that has to be felt and seen to be believed. It provides

noticeable advantages that standard guide trains cannot by combining science, practical

application and custom rod building principles. Many long hours of theory, design &

physical testing has resulted in possibly the most dynamic guide train developments to

Why MicroWave?Using the MicroWave Line Control System will make any rod better. American Tackles new line guide technology will enhance a blanks efficiency to create a better performing rod. It does this by controlling the line allowing the blank to load and recover without compensating for lost energy from oscillating line traveling through the guides. The ability to manage fishing line during a cast will also allow an angler to improve casting results. This unique line control system provides marketability, giving any rod company using it the upper hand over their competition. The quest to perfect a fishing rod has sparked an evolution of sorts. This process has brought fishermen a myriad of varying designs in handles and blanks that range from minor specification changes to a wide material composition selection. Line guides are no different although their goal has always been to tame or manage line effectively. Some guide innovations use different materials and finishes that address weight and durability, while others use frame design for specific applications. Some even go as far as claiming to solve tangling issues that dont exist. The MicroWave guide system is the most recent development in the evolution of line guides. It combines the best guide materials and construction techniques with new theories and technologies creating extreme guide efficiency. These qualities allowed him to become a noted inventor responsible for many patented products including his latest development leading to the MicroWave Line Control System. An accomplished angler, author, TV personality and educator, he was famous for sharing invaluable information with millions of people who love fishing just as much as he did. But Doug Hannon was much more than the Bass Professor the world knew him by. He became more than the educator of bass fishing. His life experiences and overall view of life allowed him to be a mentor and friend to many. His legacy will live on through everyone he touched and will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
