POT CROPSAs container gardening and outdoor decorating continue to grow, lines are blurring between what we traditionally think of as indoor pot crops and outdoor decorating. For the open-minded, this transition is opening up exciting possibilities for pot crops in mixed containers and in the bedding segment. Festival gerbera is a prime example of this crossover. Our Confetti hypoestes, Astra platycodon and various primula are other good candidates for multiple uses. For traditional pot crop distribution, we offer tried-and-true crops as well as some real innovations like Appeal campanula.

The flower color, subject to growing temperatures, is ivory white to clear white

Plant height: 2.8-3.2 feet/85-98 cm

Excellent rose-shaped flower heads, with thick petals for long-lasting shelf life and easy transportation

UPRIGHT

SuperCal varieties tend to fall under two habits - Upright and Trailing.

As plants mature they all develop a strong semi-mounding finish; however, it’s important to consider these differences when selecting varieties for small pot production

ASPABROC F1 Baby Broccoli

SNOWBOWL F1 Cauliflower

Available as seed to home gardeners for the first time! Known as Broccolini® in the produce section of your grocery store and on restaurant menus, Aspabroc resembles a broccoli raab with an asparagus stem, and offers a mild taste. Aspabroc is easy to grow and requires little space. First maturity of the central shoots is 50-60 days from transplant.

Snowbowl (SCF4508) is a mid-early maturing variety (90-95 days from transplant) with good uniformity and tight inner wrapper leaves. Plant stature is smaller than others, making it ideal for tight spaces. Snowbowl produces heavy, dome-shaped heads with small air pockets and excellent curd quality.

WHAT’S NEW FOR GREENHOUSE GROWERS

TOUCHDOWN F1 Bell PepperTouchdown (SPP6001) offers a strong, prolific plant with continuous setting ability and excellent cover. This variety has a very high yield potential of large to extra-large blocky fruit that mature from dark green to deep red. The fruit are smooth with thick walls and have a crisp, good flavor.

EARLY SUMMER F1 Bell PepperEarly Summer (XPP8048Y) is an extra-large, dark green-to-yellow bell pepper with strong plants and a very impressive yield potential. The fruit are firm, smooth, glossy and high quality, with thick walls and a uniformly blocky shape. Early Summer has an excellent disease resistance package.

PRIMAVERA F1 SquashPrimavera is a high-yielding hybrid vegetable spaghetti squash. It has similar size (2.5-3 pounds) to the standard OP variety with nice canary yellow skin color at maturity. The fruit have excellent uniformity in size and shape, growing on a restricted vine that does not get as long as the standard OP.

ORANGE YOU SWEET • RIGHT ON REDYES TO YELLOW • F1 HUNGARIAN CHEESE PEPPERS This fun series is very early maturing (65-68 days from transplant) yet sets continuous high yields. Peppers hang like ornaments on top of full, 18-24 inch plants. Fruits are flattened and round, with flutes around the stem end, and have thick walls. The plants are suitable for garden or container growing and the harvests are well suited for stuffing or pickling.

PEPPERMINT Swiss ChardPeppermint is the only chard with two-toned stems. Highly ornamental plants boast pure white petioles with vibrant pink streaks topped by dark green, glossy leaves. Peppermint matures in 58-63 days from seeding and shows very high resistance to bolting. It is a great choice for specialty produce or mixed with ornamentals and performs well across multiple seasons.
