SOHO ASIAN CUISINE is now located where the Smokehouse Mine operated on Broadway. The Thornton Hotel is directly across the street. In 1956, Lloyds of Butte, a restaurant, offered a four-course meal for $2.50. Diners had their choice of roasted turkey, pan-fried chicken, cured ham or prime rib. The second restaurant in Butte was called “The Copperopolis.” Anaconda is now home to a gift shop bearing the same name. Ethel Barrymore, a member of an elite American acting family, was on stage at Butte’s Broadway Theater Sept. 21, 1931. The couple met whileboth were attendingMontana State University.

Their parents are Johnand Kathleen Moore ofButte, Marijo Jacobs ofAnaconda, and Dan andKaren Jacobs of Missoula.

During the Mass, spe-cial readings were given bythe groom’s sister, AngelaJacobs, reading from 1Corinthians 12:31-13:8.Stepsisters of the groom,KayCee Pfeifer and JessicaPollock read Ations byShel Silverstein.Vocalist/special musicalguests included GeraldLillie, guitar and vocals,Hope Revenaugh, violinist,and Joann Lewis, piano.

Serving as honorattendants were thebride’s sister, KristinChiamulera and RyanCogley. Bridesmaids werethe bride’s sister-in-law,Caitlin Moore, andChristie Cogley andCaitlin Poley, andgroomsmen were thebride’s brother, JoshMoore, the groom’sbrother-in-law, BobbyPollock and ChrisZbitnoff. Guests were

seated by the bride’sbrother-in-law, WayneChiamulera, and thegroom’s brother-in-law,Phil Pfeifer.

Flower girls were thebride’s nieces, SidneyChiamulera, MeganChiamulera, Alaina Mooreand Alexa Moore, and thegroom’s nieces, AliPfeifer, and PaytonPollock. The groom’snephew, Dane Floch, wasthe ringbearer.

Among the guests wasthe bride’s grandmother,Peggy Moore, and thegroom’s grandmother,Nancy Peck.

The reception was heldat the Front StreetStation.

Jodi attended MontanaState University, and in2011, graduated from theUniversity of Nevada-LasVegas with a bachelor’sdegree in elementary edu-cation. She teaches firstgrade at Steven SchorrElementary in Las Vegas.

Nate graduated in 2008from Montana StateUniversity with a bache-lor’s degree in construc-tion engineering. Heworks for the McCarthyConstruction firm in LasVegas.

The newlyweds honey-mooned in the U.S. VirginIslands. They are at homein Las Vegas.

Jim and Judi (Walsh)McGovern celebratedtheir 50th weddinganniversary on July 20,2013. They were bothborn and raised in Butte.The couple married at St. Ann’s Catholic Churchin Butte, on July 20, 1963.

They moved to Seattle,Wash., in July of 1965,where Jim had taken a jobwith the WashingtonState Highway Dept.,which would end up beinga 45-year career in thisindustry. He retired in2008.

Judi was a homemakerin the early years of themarriage when the chil-dren were young and thenhad a career in advertisingwith the Bon MarcheDowntown Seattle. They

moved to Stanwood,Wash., 23 years ago wherethey currently reside closeto all their kids. Theirtime is now spent beingvery active and involvedwith their family.

Jim and Judi have twosons, two daughters, ninegrandchildren, and threegreat-grandchildren.

Their children hosted aparty that included a skit,with costumes and musicthat was performed bytheir children and spouses, grandchildrenand spouses, and great-grandchildren.

The family recreatedthe memorable momentsfrom the last 50 years ofhistory, and of Jim andJudi’s journey together.
