Dear CAOMS Colleagues and Partners,

I would like to extend a warm invitation to join us at our 2012 CAOMS Annual Scientific Conference that will be held from May 23 to 26 in the spectacular Rocky Mountains at The Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel in Banff, Alberta.

The conference theme is Contemporary Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. As you will see in the following pages, our Organizing Committee has created an impressive scientific program that you won’t want to miss. The Committee has also planned a number of social and optional events that will showcase some of the many attractions of Banff and the surrounding area.

Many of our corporate partners have already committed to having an exhibit at the meeting. I know that you will want to spend some time with them to see the latest tools and technology available to our profession. There will be ample opportunities during the Conference to visit them in the Exhibit Hall and thank them for their support.

I encourage you to register early and also to book your accommodation at the beautiful Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel as soon as possible, because space is limited.

I look forward to welcoming you to Banff on May 23rd!

Dear CAOMS Colleagues and Partners,

It is my sincere pleasure to invite you, your spouse and your auxiliary staff, as well as all Residents-in-Training, to the 2012 CAOMS Annual Scientific Conference, being held at The Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel in Banff, Alberta.

We have chosen a venue that is unsurpassed in terms of spectacular scenery, facilities and amenities. In short, there will be something for everyone!

Our theme is Contemporary Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. As such, the focus is on providing surgeons, residents and auxiliaries with an appreciation for the broad spectrum of oral and maxillofacial surgical care as it is currently practised both at home and abroad.

The pre-conference program is a certifying full-day course by Dr. Warren Roberts on The Use of Botox for Facial Rejuvenation. Participants will be fully educated in all aspects of relevant facial anatomy, the ageing process, facial rejuvenation, and clinical use of Botox. Additional auxiliary education on this topic will be provided the following day. Be sure to sign up early as space will be limited.

We have assembled an impressive list of speakers from nearby and faraway. Dr. Ole Jensen will be coming to update us on the latest in implant reconstruction, whilst Dr. G. Ghali has agreed to speak on Craniofacial reconstruction and adjunctive cosmetic procedures with orthognathics. We will also receive an update on the Art and Science of Genioplasty, from our own Dr. David Precious. A lot more is slated, including a medicolegal update, review of the latest issues in Bisphosphonate-related osteonecrosis, digital implant dentistry, and so forth.

Network with your colleagues. Enhance your reputation by keeping up-to-date on contemporary practice. Refocus your office team by having them participate in all the learning opportunities. Support our exhibitors as they showcase new technologies, designed to assist you in your practice. Most importantly, please register yourself and your team, early.

We look forward to showcasing our Western hospitality!
