THE LEARNING EXCHANGE Page 3

This coming Adult Learners week TLE is proud to bring to CDC Vimont: Money Matters, a new financial

literacy program developed by ABC Life Literacy Canada in partnership with Human Resources and

Skills Development Canada (Education Savings Community Outreach - ESCO) and Founding Partner TD

Bank Group.

The goal of Money Matters is to increase the numeracy and financial literacy skills of Canadian adult

learners leading to increased confidence in dealing with their personal finances and making appropri-

ate financial decisions.

TLE volunteers will be trained by TD Bank volunteers March 20th (10 a.m. to noon) to help assist par-

ticipating learners during the session. **We need interested volunteers for these great sessions!**

What does Money Matters look like?

Each session includes discussion questions, real world examples and activities. Money Matters work-

books, calculators, pencils and Gail Vaz Oxlade’s Good Reads book Easy Money will be available for all

learners in the Cycle I renewal class.

FAMILY LITERACY

DAY

January 27,

2012

Make reading a part

of your family life!

Hi Mona,

This New Year 2012 is going to be my first ever looking

forward to tutoring a student in the school. As for our last

Library visit on November 29th, here's the newsletter that I

would like to add of my experience of going there just be-

fore the holiday season:

Nice to have Armen and his aunt Marie joining us at

the Library, and as well Michelle too.

Aunt Marie & Mona did a wonderful tour of knowing

what the Grand Bibliotheque building is all about.

We had played games which Armen brought in, the

Scrabble cards and Pictureka.

Armen, , Mona, and myself have had our final 2011

Library visit and had a hot Cappuccino on the Metro

level.

Anyhow, I hope that this year we will go back to the li-

brary and have more invited guests.

Take care of yourself,

Kosal Chhith
