The word that has been domina0ng my vocabulary during the past few weeks has been “excited”. I am excited about the direc0on the Father has led us. I am excited about the opportunity to work with MGBC. I am excited about all that God has in store. I am truly EXCITED. Thank you for the warm recep0on you gave us a few weeks ago. We had a great 0me geEng to meet you and begin rela0onships that will undoubtedly be extremely special. We can’t wait to be there on December 9!
As we have been packing and making prepara0ons for this big move, I have been reminded of some encouraging words the Apostle Paul wrote to the Ephesians. He says in 3:20 – 21, “Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all genera0ons, forever and ever, Amen.” I am encouraged that God has bigger plans than all that I could ask or think. He is moving in a clear direc0on that will result in His glory and our good. It is exci.ng to an0cipate that reality.
During these next few weeks, I ask for your prayers as we transi0on to our new home. We are in the process of closing on a house and making plans to move everything. We will be introducing Michael to his new school. And, all of this will be done during the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. Pray that God would sustain us and help us keep our wits.
Our prayers are with you. I am excited to be your pastor.

Happy Birthday Jesus! It is that time of year when we celebrate Jesus’ birth. God gave us the Ultimate Gift, Jesus and we give others gifts of our love and appreciation. Stop to enjoy this time of the year by seeing the lights on the homes and decorated trees. Spend time as a family wrapping gifts while sipping on hot chocolate. Watch the Christmas specials and TV programs as a family discussing the importance of this time of year. Remind your children what Christmas really means. Maybe some of you did the shoebox gifts or there is the Angel Tree that allows your children to help give to others. This is a time of giving because God gave first.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to our DNOW weekend early in November. Our students had a great time and I can already see how many of them have grown in their faith because of it. As our church enters into a new chapter with the arrival of our new pastor, I hope to see our youth group evolve along with the church. Our youth leader team is beginning a journey to find better ways for our church to touch the lives of our students. I firmly believe that they need your guidance and wisdom, along with the Holy Spirit, if they are to have a strong faith as they leave high school. I want to encourage you to pray for us as we seek the Lord’s direction and to follow the Holy Spirit in how he leads you to minister to our students. I believe that you are ministers to these students just as much, or more, than I am; I would love to hear your ideas for how we can bridge the gap between the youth and the church.
Grace and Peace,Tylor Standley

“Keep CHRIST in CHRISTmas”
We need each other to get where God wants us to go.
I knew God would bring His man for the job of Pastor in His time. I’m very excited to have Jimmy Mauldin coming on board and leading our staff into the 2013 year. I can’t wait to sit down and begin planning with him some great things that the Lord leads us to do at MGBC. I know God has BIG plans for us here and will reveal those to us again in His time. I’m just ready to see them! I look forward to serving with our NEW Pastor.
Don’t forget to pray and ask God what He would have you to give toward the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering this month. Every penny given to Lottie Moon goes toward International Missions, helping to reach people who have never heard the Gospel. It is one way that we can be a part of reaching those folks for Jesus. Our goal as a church this year is $5000, and I know we can reach and pass that goal. Give a gift to Jesus this year by giving to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering and helping others to share Christ with people across the world.
As we wind down 2012, let’s not forget what Christmas is all about and show the love that has been shown to us in Jesus, THE PERFECT GIFT. Let us look for ways to give from our hearts and help those around us when we can.
Galatians 6:9—Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary.
