We will be serving the community by doing trail reconciliation, socializing with seniors, writing letters to military personnel, assisting in the shelters, working at the zoo and making blankets for children in hospitals. This is a great time to serve and engage with our local communities of Kenosha and Racine. As a class you are already making an impact on the world! Your Academic Journey Begins
Welcome from the Provost
Dear Students,
I would like to welcome you all to the University of Wisconsin Parkside. Today you begin a journey toward a bachelor’s degree which will prepare you for success in work, life and citizenship. We realize that there are many reasons that you have chosen to go to college, high among those reasons may be your hope for meaningful work
in your chosen career. Yet by embarking on this journey toward a four year degree, you will be getting much more than job training. You will be getting an education, which is why we require you to take courses that are outside of your major, and I encourage you to approach these courses with an attitude of wonder and curiosity.
You will receive a lot of advice in the coming weeks about how to succeed in college. That’s because all of us at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside are committed to helping you succeed. We have a great celebration planned for your graduation day and I hope to see you all there in a few years. Good luck to you all!

Make a ONE minute video telling us what you are fired up about for your freshman year.
DESCRIPTION:The First Year Experience office is holding their first video contest for Ranger Welcome. The theme is “What are you fired up about?” We want you to be as creative as possible and make a ONE minute video telling us what you are fired up about for your freshman year. HOW TO ENTER: To participate in the contest, participants must do the following: 1. Participants must post their video to YouTube and link to the Ranger
Welcome page on Campus Connect for judging https://campusconnect.uwp.edu/organization/rangerwelcome 2. Videos must be posted before 12:00 am Wednesday, September 5th, 2012 on
CampusConnect3. One entry per person 4. In the event of a dispute regarding the identity of a participant’s online entry, the entry will be deemed to have been made by the authorized holder of UW-Parkside email account at the time the entry was madeELIGIBILITY RESTRICTIONS: The contest is open only to the incoming class of 2012 at the University of Wisconsin- Parkside. The student must be enrolled in fall 2012 term. Entries must be campus appropriate: no alcohol, smoking of any type, wear appropriate attire, and use appropriate language. PRIZES: 1. The grand prize winner will receive a 32’’ TV2. If a winner is unable to accept the prize, the
prize will be offered to the runner up 3. Winner will be instructed to claim their prize at
