MT. BACHELOR SPORTS EDUCATION FOUNDATION is the leading Northwest nonprofi t sports training organization dedicated to promoting positive core values within the Central Oregon youth community.
The 36th Annual U.S. Bank Pole Pedal Paddle (PPP), a multi-stage fundraising race that features the Northwests premiere athletes as well as weekend warriors, will start on Mt. POLE PEDAL PADDLE TRADITIONS:SPONSOR PROFILE,THE HASSON COMPANY
The U.S. Bank Pole Pedal Paddle is an event that Hasson Company Realtors has sponsored for 5 years. It is a tremendous opportunity for us to actively participate in and give back to the community where we work and live. My agents volunteer their time to help make the event the premier attraction that it is for Central Oregon.
Each year we bring approximately 40 volunteers to work the Kids Mini PPP event. Some aid with manning the tent, some actively participate in the event itself, and all
love assisting with the kids on Sunday! Year in and year out, the Pole Pedal Paddle is the highlight of what we do. This year is setting itself up to be epic bring on those Pole Pedal Paddlers!!!

PRESENTING SPONSORS:Bend Memorial Clinic Outback Steakhouse
The U.S. Bank Kids Mini PPP, presented by Bend Memorial Clinic and the Outback Steakhouse, will take place Sunday, May 20 in the Old Mill District from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. This race has doubled in size since moving the venue from Harmon Park to the Les Schwab Amphitheater in 2006. Last year there were more than 1,200 first through six graders who competed in this fun and exciting race.
All six members of a team paddle down the Deschutes
River with their rafting guide on board. Just past the footbridge in the Old Mill District, the rafters exit their boat, while one grabs their bike and rides the course on Shevlin Hixon. Once the biker comes back to the
Amphitheater, they tag a teammate who then completes a fun obstacle course. Once the four team members have completed the obstacle course, the fifth member of the team finishes with a sprint around the obstacle course.
After each heat, ribbons are handed out immediately to the racers as soon as they cross the finish line. New this year, the Outback Steakhouse will feed all kid racers from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Les Schwab Amphitheater. They just need to show them their race number in order to receive their free meal. Trader Joes will also be on hand at the finish line, giving out refreshing healthy treats and drinks.
This event is run solely by volunteers from the Hasson Company Realtors, Sunriver Resort, Sun Country Tours, Seventh Mountain Resort, Sunnyside Sports and MBSEF. These volunteers put in very long days in order for the event to run smoothly and safely. So if your child is participating in the U.S. Bank Kids Mini PPP, please remind them to say thank you to these wonderful community members.
