The Morrilton Lil Pups con-tinued their winning waysSaturday, winning all fourgames played at Clinton.
Third-grade Lil Pups (3-2)after an 0-2 start, won theirthird consecutive game shuttingout the Yellow Jackets 12-0. BoMcElroy and Jake Sessionscored for the Lil Pups.
The fourth-grade Lil Pups (4-0) scored on a 60-yard touch-down run by Reggie Toney inthe second half and won theirgame 7-0.
The fifth-grade Lil Pups (4-0)scored two touchdowns withCarnell Green, and touchdownsby Shacoby Criswell andJalcolby Criswell for a 26-6win. The fifth grade team hasscored 124 points while givingup only six points so far thisseason.
The sixth-graders completedthe sweep with a 27-6 win.Lamar Walker scored threetouchdowns to pace the Lil

Morrilton High School’s 2012Homecoming theme is “DevilDogs: The Greatest Show onTurf.” The traditionalHomecoming Pageant will be heldin the Morrilton Junior HighSchool gym on Oct. 5 beginning at2 p.m. followed by the pep rally.The evening pre-game show isscheduled for 6:30 at Devil DogStadium.
The 2012 Homecoming Queenis senior, Paige Nicole Bowens,daughter of Rita Bowens andJames Hall. She has two brothers,Jamison Hall and Carlton Bowens.Paige has competed in the SpecialOlympics for six years andClassroom Creations for fouryears. She was a HomecomingClass Maid and Activities CourtRepresentative in 2011. She is anMHS Student Pride Award winner,and she qualified for state inSpecial Olympics Bowling andTrack and Field.
Some of Paige’s favoritesinclude the color blue, pork chops,Tyler Perry, Justin Bieber, and lis-tening to country, pop, R&B, andgospel music. Paige’s favorite per-son is her grandmother, HelenBowens, and she attends GreaterUnion Hill Baptist Church, whereshe directs the choir. Paige is avery energetic and strong-mindedperson who enjoys shopping andmeeting new people.
She says that because this is herlast Homecoming at MorriltonHigh School, she will cherish thisnight forever. “I just want to saythank you to the class of 2012 forselecting me as your queen,” shesays, “God bless you all.” Paigeloves her many wonderful friends,and will always strive to be thebest because, she says, “I can doall things through Christ whostrengthens me.” She is beingescorted by Senior Devil Dogfootball players #5 JamarCriswell, son of Amanda andCarnell Green and BJ Criswell and#7 Juwaan Trezvant, son of Jamesand Tiffany Trezvant.
Senior Honor Maid, DesireeEverette, is the daughter ofDennis Everette and DeborahEverette. She has two brothers,Darian and Demario Hammons.Desiree is very active on the cam-pus of MHS. She is a member ofthe Math Club, Beta Club, FashionClub, Science Club, StudentCouncil, Library Club,Photography Club, Poetry Club,Music Club, Art Club, andSpanish Club. She also dances onthe MHS Devil Dolls DanceTeam. Desiree attends MorriltonFirst Assembly of God.
She loves to dance and play gui-tar. Among Desiree’s favorites arecheetah print, crawfish, the show“Teen Wolf,” Channing Tatum, themusical group Skillet, and herfriend Tatyana Wimbley. Desireeconsiders herself nice and fun.She says, “I always try to put asmile on everyone’s face, even ifI’m not smiling myself.” She sayshelping and reaching out is whatshe’s best at because no one canhelp everybody, but everybodycan help someone. Alli Wilson, Senior HonorMaid, is the daughter of MikeWilson and Londa Carroll. Shehas two sisters and four brothers.Alli plays volleyball and soccer, isa cheerleader, and is a member ofthe Beta Club, Youth AdvisoryCouncil, Spanish Club, MathClub, and Science Club.
Her favorite color is purple.Some of her favorites includepasta, Matthew McConaughey, allkinds of music, and her MeMaw.Alli attends University Church ofChrist. Her plans for the futureinclude attending University ofCentral Arkansas to major in nurs-ing. She says, “It is such an honorto be a part of this year’sHomecoming Court. Some of mybest memories will always be ourgreat pep rallies and cheering forthe dogs.” She is being escorted bysenior Devil Dog football player#79 Gilberto Garcia, son of Arturoand Ernestina Garcia.
Junior Honor Maid, HartBeijen, is the daughter of Brianand Patti Beijen. She has one sis-ter, Breanna. Hart is very active invarious clubs and organizations atMHS including the Beta Club,Science Club, Spanish Club,FCA,and student council. Hartalso plays volleyball and softball.She was 2012 All ConferenceSoftball, a 2012 Student PrideWinner, 2011 Alternate MissGMA, and 2011 HomecomingClass Maid. She attends Mt.Pleasant Missionary BaptistChurch, where she participates inthe youth group and GMA.
She enjoys four-wheeler riding,hanging out with friends and fam-ily, and tubing and skiing at thelake. Her other favorites includethe colors turquoise and limegreen, Mexican Food, the show“Pretty Little Liars,” and countrymusic, especially Rascal Flatts.Hart describes herself as a smalltown girl who loves God, her fam-ily, and her friends. “I believe inlaughing until it hurts,” Hart says,“even if it’s at my own jokes.”She is being escorted by SeniorDevil Dog football player #8Avery Hawkins, son of Kendrickand Barbra Hawkins.
Lauren Simer, Junior HonorMaid, is the daughter of Sonny

and Tonya Simer. She has two sis-ters. Here at MHS, Lauren is inBeta club and Science Club. Sheplays softball, she is a cheerleader,and she has been named AllAmerican Cheerleader threetimes.
Some of her favorites includethe colors lime green and orange,deer meat, Channing Tatum, andmusic group One Direction. Sheenjoys hunting and four-wheelerriding, and she attends Mt.Pleasant Missionary BaptistChurch where she is active inyouth group and GMA. Herfavorite person is her Papa, WayneSmith. She describes herself as aloud girl who loves to meet newpeople, learn, and have fun.Lauren is escorted by Senior DevilDog football player #27, DevonCates, son of Jason and SarahLawlis.
Jayla Criswell, SophomoreHonor Maid, is the daughter ofVondra Rainey and Jerry Criswell.She has one brother, JayShawn.Jayla plays basketball, she is in theband, she is a majorette, and is amember of the Beta Club. Someof Jayla’s favorites are the colorsturquoise and pink, any kind ofchicken, the show “Toddlers andTiaras,” and Chris Brown. Whenasked who her favorite person is,Jayla said “My mom because sheloves me for who I am.” Jayladescribes herself as a very outgo-ing person who loves to help peo-ple and make them laugh. Sophomore Honor Maid,Morgan Mariah Mullins, is thedaughter of Craig and JenniferMullins. She has one sister,Alyssa. Morgan is a cheerleader,plays volleyball, and is in Spanishand Beta Clubs. Morgan is on thehonor roll, she is featured in Who’sWho Among American HighSchool Students, and she wasselected as Freshman ClassFavorite last year. Morgan lovesriding horses, going to deer camp,and going to church with herNana. Some of her other favoritesare the colors purple and blue,country music (especially BrantlyGilbert and George Strait), and theshows “The Bachelor” and “TheBachelorette”. Morgan says herfavorite person is Alex Poncebecause he is always there for herand can always make her laugh.
She also loves her familybecause, she says, “They’re thebest!” She hopes to attend theUniversity of Arkansas after grad-uating. Morgan is escorted bySenior Devil Dog football player#43 Timmy Wilson, son of Ed andKC Wilson.
Hannah Mason, Senior ClassMaid, is the daughter of David andCecilia Student Council for 3years, and she is a member of thelibrary, science, and art clubs. Shewas named Junior Class Favoritelast year, is currently editor of theyearbook, and was recently namedMiss MHS by her classmates.
She enjoys crafting, doing nails,and spending time with family andfriends. Among her favoritethings are the colors turquoise andpink, Italian food, the show“Hollywood Heights,” and themusical group Paramore.Hannah’s favorite people are herparents, her Aunt Carolyn, and herboyfriend Preston Long. Senior Class Maid, KarenRosas, is the daughter of Mariselaand Agustin Rosas. She has twosiblings: Jovanna and Agustin.Karen is in the science club andthe math club. She plays soccerand runs cross country because,Karen says, “I absolutely LOVEto run!” She also loves the colorblue, Mexican Food, TonyHawkins, the show “CriminalMinds,” and the music group OneDirection. She is a member ofSacred Heart Catholic Church.Karen says it is an honor to beclass maid, and wishes the footballplayers good luck tonight. club and Skills USA. AmongEulandrea’s favorites are the colorred, gumbo, actress LaurenLondon, and R&B and Hip HopMusic. She loves shopping, play-ing basketball, singing, and danc-ing. She goes tochurch at Sacred Heart. She lovesthe color red, tamales, all kinds ofmusic, and her Mom. She alsoenjoys doing hair, spending timewith friends, and cheering on theDevil Dogs. Brailee Jade Starr, SophomoreClass Maid, is the daughter ofMike and Glenda Starr. She hastwo brothers, Chad and Duncan.Brailee is a member of the BetaClub, Fishing Club, and SpanishClub. She attends First Church ofthe Nazarene where she is activein the youth group. She enjoysmudding, riding four-wheelers,and hanging out with friends.Among Brailee’s favorites are thecolor purple, steak, the show“Adventure Time,” and countrymusic, especially ThompsonSquare. Flower Girl, Miss Brenn AndersWilliams is the daughter of MHSteacher Lucy Williams and herhusband Jim. Brenn is in firstgrade at Morrilton PrimarySchool, where she is in Ms.Washam’s class. She attendsPerrville First Baptist Church.She has one sister named Averywho is 8 years old. Brenn lovesplay dates, family movie nights,and watching the show “AntFarm.”
She loves to make people laughand is friendly to everyone shemeets. When Brenn grows up, shewant to be a Kindergarten teacher.
Our Crown Bearer is JefferyTalan Bratton, son of Englishteacher Jamie Bratton and her hus-band Joe. He is a student in Mrs.Boyd’s first grade class atMorrilton Primary School, andattends First Presbyterian Church.Talan’s favorites include the colorgreen, cheese sticks from Sonic,Sponge Bob, and playing with hisdogs. Talan loves sports, and heplays soccer, basketball, and base-ball. He enjoys riding his bike,deer hunting, and playing with hislittle sister Tessa, who is hisfavorite person. Talan isn’t surewhat he wants to be when hegrows up, but he knows he wants acollege close to home so he canstill see his mom and dad.
