2012 GA BBQ This just goes to show you the dedication that people have on TFF. This is the fingernails and toenails of Shooter45’s wife Kaye. She had this done the day before the meet and greet. I for one thought this was an awesome idea. I would have never thought of it. She even had a pistol painted on them beside the TFF. Great support Kaye. You are a hoot. This years meet was great as usual. Lot of fun was had by all. I don’t think I have laughed that much in a a very long time. OZO and I had a lot of conversations, I’m not sure either of us know what they were about, but I think they were enjoyed by all. Our attendance was up this year. Not sure if we had more members or not, but a lot more people connected in some form to the forum showed up and a great time was had by all. After everyone filled their selves with BBQ and Boiled Shrimp there was a picking and grinning session. Double D played a mean Guitar, Greg Elder played Banjo and Butch Reeves on lead guitar. On the left is Shooter45, Double D and GMoody. Sam and Dan are in deep conversation while George tries his hand at making a picture of them. On the table are many of the things that were given away in the drawing we had. Most everyone won something. On the Right is our friend Carver facing the lake and Woodnut’s back. Woodnut is checking the forum on Carver’s Laptop.

2012 GA BBQThis just goes to show you the dedication that people have on TFF.

Sam and Dan are in deep conversation while George tries his handat making a picture of them. On the table are many of the things that were given away in the drawing we had. Most everyone won something. On the Right is our friend Carver facing the lake and Woodnut’s back. Woodnut is checking the forum on Carver’s Laptop.

Once again let me say that I cannot be held responsible for spelling punctuation or typo’s. I am strictly shooting from the hip on this story board. The pictures may not be in order since so many of you sent me your photos to go along with mine. Maybe you can get the jest of the meet anyway.

This is a picture of Laura, Mrs. Carver with their new addition, I’m sorry I forgot the dogs name. The dog was real protective of Laura, would not even let me hug Laura.

Sam on the left, and Dan, (DoubleD) on the right. I don’t have a clue of what Dan was reaching for. Maybe he was going to shake someone’s hand. Wonder if he even remembers.

Page 3: 2012 GA BBQthefirearmsforum.s3.amazonaws.com/2012/12/142584_4dccbad6fe75e13278f… · of the night Dale Houston, (songman). Let me tell you he has a great voice and can really do

Sam and OZO having a conversation about something that neither one knows anything about. I should not have waited this long to do this story board but due to health reasons, I have had to wait and memory does not serve me well in certain situations like this one. I don’t remember what they were talking about, might have been the tribe of pygmies that OZO brought with him. You guys that missed this meet and greet missed a really good time. Lots of laughs and conversations.

OZO went over on the other side of Sam’s house and picked up this bunch to bring with him, pictured is the tribe trying to visually protect him from taking a whiz in the pond. Didn’t work. Now for the truth. As all of you know that were there, the water you see is a fountain that Dan Baily has on the deck of the pond. It is an old pitcher pump that has been converted into a continuous fountain. I really did not want to miss lead anyone, or for someone to take this as a serious picture.

In this picture, Sam has got to be telling some kind of a big tale to Dan, who is stuffing his face as you can see, his wife and others. Sam is really laying it on, you can tell by the hand jesters. Cut off his hands and he couldn’t say a word, just like most of us.

Pictured here is Josh, JLA to most folks. It looks like he is wrapped up in a tale that OZO is spinning. He just has that look on his face.

This is Sam and his smoker, I think he is poking at the meat again.

George Moody titled. “IN DEEP THOUGHT” Don’t have a clue what he is thinking about, he may still be trying to recover from the hot shrimp. That’s another story. “to be continued on next page”

Page 5: 2012 GA BBQthefirearmsforum.s3.amazonaws.com/2012/12/142584_4dccbad6fe75e13278f… · of the night Dale Houston, (songman). Let me tell you he has a great voice and can really do

Continued from last page, George and the hot shrimp. While preparing the spices for the water to boil the shrimp, I had added all the Onion, Lemons, Garlic, Sausage, Corn, potatoes and the shrimp boil, (2 kinds), and some red pepper. As this was heating up I would dip my finger in the water and taste to see if the seasoning was right. Well, George was taking all this in and decided to taste the water. I happened to see his finger as it went into his mouth, God I wish I had a picture of the face he made. He turned and as he was running for the water he was coughing and I thought he was gonna choke. I really did laugh at that little stunt. But let me say that you have to put the red pepper in the boil to get the right flavor on the shrimp. The corn and potatoes will take almost all of the heat. So you really have to be someone that likes hot stuff in order to eat the corn and potatoes, the sausage takes up some heat also. I apologize to the folks that like shrimp but found mine too hot to eat. That is just the way we cook’m in South MS and LA.

Boy, wish I could remember this little dog’s name. She was so cute, and like I said before, very protective of Laura.

Moma OZO on the left. Moma JLA on the right.

Some of the best music you ever heard played by our very own members. Greg Elder on Banjo, Double D on Guitar, and Butch Reeves on lead Guitar.

Another shot of the band with the singer of the night Dale Houston, (songman). Let me tell you he has a great voice and can really do a job on Myrle Haggard. I was out by my truck and heard his first song and thought Myrle had arrived. Great job Dale.

Below you will see some of the pictures I took while in GA. I arrived a day early and Sam took me fishing on Carter Lake. Didn’t have a lot of luck but boy was the scenery beautiful. Here are the pictures that I made on the lake that morning.

Page 7: 2012 GA BBQthefirearmsforum.s3.amazonaws.com/2012/12/142584_4dccbad6fe75e13278f… · of the night Dale Houston, (songman). Let me tell you he has a great voice and can really do

Our fearless leader trying to figure out what kind of lure to use. This lake is just breath taking, and so clear. Sam says that it is 300 feet deep in most of the lake.

More on the shrimp boil. The shrimp were picked up off of the boat by woodnut in Long Beach MS, brought to GA on ice then boiled. The picture on the left is just as the shrimp was dumped into the boiling water. The picture on the right is after the shrimp had boiled and drained. They are now ready to eat. See what you missed.

Above sitting beside Mrs. OZO is the man himself. Looks like he is in deep thought. No telling what he is thinking about. Probably some way to get back at woodnut for giving him such a hard time. Top right is George Moody and Beck, they might be listing to OZO since if I remember right he was sitting right across from them. Bottom right. Josh, George and Beck. Looks like they are just resting from all the activities. I know we all needed a rest when we got home.

Now these guys say they can eat BBQ anytime but not good boiled shrimp. They both had a plate of shrimp almost all the time, at least at eating time. After the first serving, I put the shrimp and other things that were in the boiling in a cooler to protect them. Carver seated on the right came by me and said “Carl where did you put those shrimp” I showed him and he kept up with them the rest of the time. Josh ate his share too. I love to see people enjoy their food and these 2 people really did.

If you will look close you can see the canoe the pygmies pulled up on th bank, there are 2 of them hidden in the grass just on the other side of the canoe. They told Sam to tell Josh to go back to TX and leave the fish alone, and keep that dog out of their drinking water. They must have got through to him, cause he is back in TX at this writing. I don’t know about the dog and the water, it is going to be hard to keep her out of it. I didn’t even notice the canoe while we were there. I think Sam had mentioned it to me, but it showed up in this picture when I looked at all the pictures. This is the only one it is in. Them sneaky little boogers.

And this my friends is a wicked HORSE SHOE GAME. Don’t know who won but seems like a lot of dispute going on, since all the players are at one end of the game.

Top left Carl Carver and Dan. Looks like we Top right Carl, Carver Sam and DD. This looksare preparing for the boiling of the shrimp. like the beginning of a sauce of some kind.

Lot of hands on, if you ask me.

I think Josh is checking the forum on Carvers laptop.

I think Ada was trying to show the little dog how to go get the stick out of the water. Ada sure loves the water and retreiving.

Another shot of Ada waitingon Josh to throw that stick. Not really sure who was havingall the fun, Josh or Ada.

Josh- Texas fisherman fishing for Limb Brim. Ada won’t leave his lurealone.

This little round tube is known as fly paper. Sam and I bought 2 rolls to use since it was summer and we had all the stuff that flys like, and we did want to keep the fly’s away. Well George decided to put one of them up. What he did not know was that there is a built in thumb tac in the top of the tube and it is attached to the paper. All you need to do is place the tac where you want the paper and push. Well he pulls the cap off the tube and chunks it. then didn’t know of a way to attach it to the wood beam. Once someone else hung the second one he started to hunt for the cap he threw away and found it and added it to the paper, and thus give him the title of Fly King.

I can’t remember where this came from, but someone was trying to give Fly King some education on fly paper, seems as though he needed some directions. We finally figured out that the cap on the tube was actually the thumb tac to hang the paper.

I realize I am jumping around a lot with the pictures and activities but it is hard to keep in order since I have so many pictures that folks sent me that is out of order with mine. So maybe you will get the jest of it anyway.

Sam took me up above his house to some of the most beautiful countryside I have ever seen. I just had to make a few pictures of this scenery to show the country side. It is beautiful, the pictures really don’t do it justice. This is something you have to see for yourself. It is so inviting, I don’t see how ya’ll can resist coming to this event next year.

Page 14: 2012 GA BBQthefirearmsforum.s3.amazonaws.com/2012/12/142584_4dccbad6fe75e13278f… · of the night Dale Houston, (songman). Let me tell you he has a great voice and can really do

Sam and Dan’s wife prepairing the BBQ. Getting ready for the big chow down.

Don’t know who is seated, but the OZO’s and Songman looks to be waiting for the eating part of the meet.

This must be after the meat is prepared, since it looks like Ada has finally left the water and found herself a bone to work on. I think this is the one where OZO is showing Dale and George how to shoot a invisible Bow. He has killed a lot deer with this. Sam and Dan’s wife still working on the BBQ, but now they have supervision, Carl and Josh.

This must be a gab session after the meal, or it might be before the meal, anyway however you look at it (gab session).

Close up of the pan of pulled pork. Bet there are no Muslim’s in the crowd.

Now I don’t know what OZO is looking at, but I think that Dale has his invisible camera out and is making his picture.

They finally let the little dog have something to eat.

Here are some good photo’s of the picking and grinning session we had on Saturday night. You other members need to try and make one of these BBQ greet and meet. It is something you will never forget. I do sincerely apologize for the delay in getting this done. I don’t like making excuses, but I have had a rough year health wise. Maybe next year will be better and I can getter done a lot faster. I know that this is not fit for publication because of spelling and punctuation, but maybe ya’ll can make sense of it. If you have questions on these writings, take it up with Sam. He will straighten me out. Like I have stated many times, this was a fun trip and I think everyone that attended will agree. Health permitting I will not miss one of these meets, if it is within my driving range. As many members as we have there should be some way we can car pool as already mentioned. This would save a lot of money and give us someone to talk to on the way. Sam went with me to the Texas meet and we had a lot of fun just talking on the way. It was a great to have someone with me on the trip. Kept me awake also. Nothing else to put in this that I can think of at the moment. I’m sure I have forgot something, just like always. If I did forget something, I will probably think of it sometime after this goes out. If there are any questions on this .pdf, just give me a shout and I will find an answer for you, may not be what you want to hear, but an answer it shall be. Now I know I’m not good with names, so if I did not mention your name in some of these pic’s it is because I have forgot your name. I know faces but names or out the window, except for Fly King. I know JLA could add a lot to this. I should have called him and ask some suggestions but I guess you could say I was just too lazy. Next year I will try to talk to most that attend and get some better ideas for the storyboard. Until Next Year. Ya’ll be safe and keep supporting our right to keep and bear ARMS. Woodnut.
