EUREKA COLLEGE 2012 TRACK & FIELD SCHEDULE

Eureka College Hall of Famer Kurt Barth will enter his third season as the head coach of the Eureka track & fi eld team in 2012.

Barth brings a wide range of track & fi eld coaching experience to the Red Devils. A three-year assistant coach at Eureka High School

from 2006 until 2008, Barth was instrumental in the development of the Hornets’ 1600 meter relay team that won the IHSA state title in

2007. That relay team included current EC senior Wes Schmidgall. Barth also assisted the track & fi eld team at Eureka Middle School

The 1998 Eureka graduate also completed his third year as head coach of the EC football team in 2011, installing a high-powered

attack that has made the Red Devils one of the most feared offensive units in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference.

In addition to his successful collegiate football playing career that included three All-America selections, the Minonk, Ill. native competed

on the EC track & fi eld team as a sophomore in 1996.

Barth and his wife Becca have two children, Brayson (5) and Kamille (3), and reside in Washington. He is one of four Eureka College

alums currently serving as head coaches within the department, joining swim coach Jane Austin, cross country coach Kim Holdenrid,

golf coach Morgan Murphy and tennis coach Pat Prosser.
