Light!
> Glory to God in the Highest, and on
earth Peace, Goodwill among men.
>We Praise Thee, we Bless Thee, we
Worship Thee, we Glorify Thee, we give Thee Thanks for Thy Great Glory.
> Lord, King, God of Heaven, Father Almighty: Lord, Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ and Holy Spirit.
Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the
Father, Who takes away the sin of the world, have mercy upon us; O Thou Who takes away the sins of the world.
Receive our Prayer, Thou Who sits at
the right Hand of the Father, and have mercy on us.
>For Thou alone art Holy, Thou alone art Lord, Jesus Christ, to the Glory of God the Father.
Amen
Every day I will Bless Thee, and praise Thy Name forever and to the Ages of Ages.
Grant, O Lord, this day to keep us
without sin.
Blessed art Thou, O Lord, the God of our Fathers, and praised and glorified is Thy Name unto the Ages.
Amen
May Thy Mercy O Lord, be upon us, as
we have put our hope in Thee.
>Blessed art Thou, O Lord, teach me
Thy Statutes [3]
Lord, Thou hast been our Refuge from generation to generation. I said: Lord, have mercy on me, heal my soul, for I have sinned against Thee.
O Lord, to Thee have I fled; teach me to
do Thy Will, for Thou art my God.
D I V I N E L I T U R G Y O F S T J O H N C H R Y S O S T O M - N A T I V I T Y O F C H R I S T 43.
Burn up the thorns of all my offences; Purify my soul; Sanctify my mind; make
strong my knees and my bones; Enlighten the simplicity of my five senses; nail
down the whole of me with Thy Fear.
Always Protect, Guard and Watch over me, and keep me from every soul-
destroying deed and word.
Sanctify and Purify and order me; make me clean, give me Understanding and
Enlighten me; make me worthy to be the habitation of the Only Holy Spirit, and
no longer a habitation of sin; so that as Thine Abode from the Entrance of Thy
Holy Communion, every evil deed and passion may flee from me like fire.
As supplicants I bring to Thee all those whom Thou hast Sanctified: the Leaders of
the Angelic Powers; Thy Forerunner; Thine Enlightened Apostles; and further,
Thy Pure and Spotless Mother.
Receive the Prayers of these, O Merciful Christ, and make Thy slave a Child of Light.
For Thou art our Sanctification and our only Good, and the Illumination of our
souls, and unto Thee as our God and Master each day as is fitting, we ascribe
all Glory, Honour and Worship.
Amen
Lord Jesus Christ, our God, may Thy
Holy Body be unto me for Everlasting
Life and Thy Precious Blood for the
Forgiveness of sins. And may this
Holy Eucharist be Joy, Health and
Gladness for me and at Thine awful
Second Coming make me, a sinner,
worthy to stand at the right hand of
Thy Glory, through the Intercessions
of Thy Pure Mother and of all Thy
Saints. Amen.

All Holy Lady, Theotokos, the Light of my
darkened soul, my Hope and
Protection, my Refuge and
Consolation and my Joy: I give Thee thanks that Thou has made me, who am
unworthy, worthy to receive the Holy Body and the Precious Blood of Thy Son.
Enlighten the Spiritual Eyes of my heart, O Thou Who b ore the True Light; Thou
Who engendered the Fountain of Immortality grant Life to me who is dead in
sin; Thou the Compassionate Mother of the Merciful God have mercy on me
and grant me compunction and contrition of heart, Humility in my thoughts,
and the recall of my reasoning powers from their captivity.
And make me worthy until my last breath, uncondemned to receive the
Sanctification of the Divine Mysteries for the Healing of my soul and body, and
grant me Tears of Repentance and Confession so that I may praise and glorify
Thee all the days of my life for Thou art Blessed and glorified unto the Ages.

IMMEDIATELY AFTER HAVING PARTAKEN OF HOLY COMMUNION ::::
> Glory to Thee, O God; Glory to Thee! [3]
I thank Thee, O Lord my God, that Thou has not rejected me, a sinner, but has
deemed me worthy to be a Partaker of Thy Holy Things.
I thank Thee that Thou has deemed me, who am unworthy, worthy to participate in
Thy Sacred and Heavenly Gifts.
And, O Merciful Master, Who died for us and Who Arose again and Who bestows upon us these Thy Fearful and Life-giving Mysteries for the well-being and
Sanctification of our souls and bodies, grant that these may be to me for the
healing of my soul and body, for the averting of everything hostile, for the
Enlightenment of the eyes of my heart, for Peace to my Spiritual Powers, for
Faith which does not shame us, for Love unfeigned, for the plenitude of
Wisdom, for the fulf ilment of Thy Commandments, for the aid of Thy Divine
Grace and the Inheritance of Thy Kingdom; so that protected by Them in Thy
Holiness I may ever remember Thy Grace and never live for myself but only for
Thee, our Master and Saviour.
And so when I have departed from this existence in the hope of Eternal Life, I may
attain to Everlasting Rest, where the Song of those who keep Festival is
unceasing and the Joy is endless of those who behold the Ineffable Beauty of
Thy Countenance.
For Thou, O Christ our God, is that which is truly sought for, and the unutterable Gladness of those who Love Thee; and all Creation praises Thee forever.
Amen

O Christ our God and Master, King of the Ages and Creator of all, I thank Thee for
all the favours that Thou has granted to me and for the participation in Thy
Pure and Life-giving Mysteries.
I beseech Thee, therefore, O Gracious and Loving Lord, guard me under Thy
Protection and under the shadow of Thy Wings: and grant me a clear
conscience to my last breath, so that worthily I may receive Thy Holy Things for
the forgiveness of sins and Life Eternal.
For Thou art the Bread of Life, the Fountain of Holiness, the Giver of all that is
Good, and > unto Thee we ascribe Glory with the Father and the Holy Spirit, now and forever, and from all Ages to all Ages.
Amen
Thou Who grants me willingly nourishment of Thine own Flesh: Thou Who art Fire
and burns up the unworthy, do not scorch me, O my Maker, but rather pass
through me for the right ordering of my members, into all my joints, my
affections, and my heart.

that we may boldly, without Condemnation dare to call upon Thee, the Heavenly God as Father, and to say:
PEOPLE Our Father, Who art in Heaven:
Hallowed be Thy Name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy Will be done, on earth, as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily Bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but Deliver us from the Evil One.

THE P R I E S T Q U I E T LY P R AYS ::::
We thank Thee, O King Invisible, Who by Thine Infinite Power has created all things, and by the
fullness of Thy Mercy has brought forth all things out of nothing into being; do Thou
Thyself, O Master, look down from Heaven upon those, who have bowed their heads
before Thee; for they have not bowed before flesh and
blood but before Thee, our Almighty God.
Therefore, grant, O Master, that these Thy Gifts may be for
each of us beneficial – for each according to the
special need of each of us. Sail with those who sail,
accompany those who travel. And as Thou art the
Physician of our souls and bodies, heal those who are

PRIESTPRIESTPRIESTPRIEST At that time: after Jesus was Born
in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the King, behold, Wise Men from the East came to Jerusalem, enquiring: "Where is He Who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His Star in the East and have come to worship Him."
When Herod the King heard this, he
was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. And when he had gathered all the Chief Priests and Scribes of the people together, he questioned them where the Christ was to be born.
So they told him: "In Bethlehem of
Judea, for thus it is written by the Prophet: ‘But you, O Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are not the least among the rulers of Judah; for out of you shall come a Ruler Who will shepherd My people Israel.’"
Then Herod, when he had secretly
called the Wise Men, determined from them what time the Star appeared. And he sent them to Bethlehem saying: "Go and search carefully for the young Child, and when you have found Him, bring back word to me, so that I may come and worship Him also."
When they heard the King, they
departed; and behold, the Star that they had seen in the East went before them, until it came and stood over where the young Child was.
When they saw the Star, they rejoiced
with exceedingly great Joy. And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His Mother, and fell down and worshipped Him.
And when they had opened their
treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold and frankincense, and myrrh.
Then, being Divinely warned in a dream
that they should not return to Herod, they departed for their own country another way.

THE PRIEST BLESSES THE CONGREGATION WITH THE APOSTOLIC BLESSING, ASKING FOR THEM THE SPECIAL
SPIRITUAL GIFT FROM EACH OF THE DIVINE PERSONS OF THE HOLY TRINITY.
THE HOLY EUCHARIST IS A HEAVENLY AND DIVINE MYSTERY AND FOR THIS REASON WE MUST LIFT UP OUR
MINDS AND OUR HEARTS IN SINCERE AND DEVOUT WORSHIP OF ALMIGHTY GOD.
HOLY EUCHARIST IS ABOUT TO BEGIN AND AS OUR LORD, AT THE LAST SUPPER, OFFERED THANKS TO HIS
HEAVENLY FATHER BEFORE BREAKING BREAD, SO DOES THE PRIEST BEFORE THE CONSUMMATION OF HOLY
EUCHARIST
T h e C o n s u m m a t i o n o f H o l y E u c h a r i s t THE P R I E S T Q U I E T LY P R AYS :
It is proper and right to Praise Thee, to Glorify Thee, to Bless Thee, to
thank Thee, to Worship Thee, in all places of Thy Dominion; for
Thou art God Ineffable, Incomprehensible, Invisible, Inconceivable,
existing always, as Thou does exist; Thou and Thine Only
Begotten Son, and Thy Holy Spirit.
Thou has brought us from nothingness into being, and when we fell
away Thou raised us up again, and Thou does not cease until Thou
has done everything to bring us to Heaven, and grant us Thy
Kingdom to come.
>For all these things we thank Thee, and Thine Only Begotten Son, and
Thy Holy Spirit; for the visible and invisible Bounties, which have
been bestowed upon us.
We thank Thee also for this Liturgy, which Thou deigns to receive from our hands, even
though Thou art surrounded by thousands of Archangels and myriads of Angels, by the
Cherubim and Seraphim, which are six-winged, many-eyed and soar aloft on their wings

No one who is bound with the desires and pleasures of the flesh is worthy to approach, or
draw near, or to serve Thee, O King of Glory; for to serve Thee is great and awesome,
even to the Heavenly Powers.
Yet, through Thine ineffable and boundless Love towards mankind, Thou unchangeably
and immutably became Man, and served as our High Priest, and as Lord of All, has
committed to us the celebration of this Liturgical and bloodless Sacrifice.
For Thou alone, O Lord our God, rules over all things in Heaven and Earth, Who art borne
upon the Throne of the Cherubim, Who art the Lord of the Seraphim and King of Israel,
Who alone art Holy and rest amongst Thy Saints.
Wherefore, I implore Thee, Who alone art Good, and ready to listen: Look down upon me,
Thy sinful and unprofitable servant, and cleanse my soul and my heart from an evil
conscience; and enable me by the Power of Thy Holy Spirit, Vested with the Grace of
the Priesthood, to stand before this, Thy Holy Altar, and Consecrate Thy Holy and
Immaculate Body and Precious Blood. For to Thee I come, having bowed my head,
and beseech Thee: Turn not Thy Face away from me, nor reject me from among Thy
Children; but make me worthy, Thy sinful and unworthy servant, to offer these Gifts to
Thee.
For Thou art the Offerer and the Offered, the Accepted and the Distributed, O Christ our
God, > and unto Thee we ascribe glory, together with Thine Eternal Father, and Thine
All Holy, Good, and Life-giving Spirit; now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Olokaftomata ouk evdoxisis.
Have mercy on me, O God, according to
Thy Great Mercy. And according to the abundance of Thy Compassion blot out my transgression.
Wash me thoroughly from my
lawlessness, and cleanse me from my sin. For I know my lawlessness, and my sin is always before me.
Against Thee only have I sinned, and
done evil in Thy Sight: that Thou may be Justified in Thy Words, and may overcome when Thou art judged.
For behold I was conceived in
transgressions; and in sins my mother bore me.
Behold: Thou Love Truth. Thou showed
me the unknown and secret things of Thy Wisdom.
Thou shalt sprinkle me with Hyssop, and I
will be cleansed - Thou shalt wash me, and I will be made whiter than snow.
Thou shalt make me hear Joy and
Gladness – my bones that were humbled shalt greatly Rejoice.
Turn Thy Sight away from my sins, and
blot out all my transgressions.
A clean heart create in me, O God, and
renew a right spirit within me.
Do not cast me away from Thy Presence,
and do not take Thy Holy Spirit from me.
Restore to me the Joy of Thy Salvation,
and Uphold me with Thy Guiding Spirit.
I will teach transgressors Thy Ways, and the ungodly shall turn back to Thee.
Deliver me from blood-guiltiness, O God
- the God of my Salvation, and my tongue shall greatly Rejoice in Thy Righteousness.
O Lord, Thou will open my lips, and my
mouth will declare Thy Praise.
For if Thou had desired Sacrifice, I would give it – Thou will not be pleased with Whole Burnt Offerings.

A Sacrifice to God is a broken spirit - a broken and humbled heart God will not despise.
Do Good, O Lord in Thy Good Pleasure to
Zion, and let the walls of Jerusalem be built – then Thou will be pleased with a Sacrifice of Righteousness, with Offerings, and Whole Burnt Offerings – then shall they offer on Thine Altar young bullocks.
THE PRIEST KISSES THE
ANTIMENSION/CORPORAL, WHICH RESTS
UPON THE HOLY ALTAR, BEFORE TURNING TO
THE CONGREGATION, TO WHOM HE BOWS,
THEREBY HUMBLY ASKING FOR FORGIVENESS
IN CASE ANYONE HAS A GRUDGE AGAINST HIM:
May God forgive those who hate us
and those who Love us.
HE RETURNS TO THE PROSKOMIDI/
CREDENCE:
O God, be Gracious to me, a sinner,
and have Mercy on me.
KISSING THE HOLY GIFTS, THE PRIEST
PRAYS:
O Holy God, the Father Eternal, Holy and Strong, the Son
Co-Eternal, Holy and Immortal, the All Holy Spirit,
Holy Trinity: Glory to Thee!
BEFORETHE PRIEST PUTS THE AER ON HIS SHOULDERS THAT SYMBOLISES THE
CLOTH/SHROUD IN WHICH THE BODY OF CHRIST WAS WRAPPED, HE CENSES IT:
Lift up thy hands in the Sanctuary, and Bless the Lord.
THE PRIEST CENSES HIS HANDS BEFORE TOUCHING THE
PATEN AND THE HOLY CHALICE: God is gone up with a
shout – the Lord with the sound of a Trumpet.
WITH HIS LEFT HAND HE HOLDS A SMALL TRAY - THE
DISKOS/PATEN - UPON WHICH IS THE ASTERISK OR STAR
THAT KEEPS THE SMALL VEIL FROM TOUCHING THE HOLY
LAMB – A PORTION OF OBLATION BREAD THAT WILL
MYSTICALLY - BY THE CONSECRATION AND
TRANSUBSTATION OF THE HOLY SPIRIT - BECOME THE BODY OF
CHRIST - AND SOME SMALLER PORTIONS THAT REPRESENT THE ALL PURE, EVER BLESSED
THEOTOKOS, THE SAINTS AND THE CHURCH MILITANT AND TRIUMPHANT – THE LIVING AND THE
REPOSED IN CHRIST.
WITH HIS RIGHT HAND THE PRIEST HOLDS THE
DISKOPOTIRO/CHALICE (COVERED WITH A SMALL VEIL
WHICH CONTAINS WINE, WHICH AT THE DIVINE
CONSECRATION OF THE HOLY SPIRIT BECOMES THE
BLOOD OF CHRIST OUR SAVIOUR.

THE CHERUBIC HYMN IS INTERRUPTED AS THE PRIEST EXITS THE
SANCTUARY, PRECEDED BY A PROCESSION OF ALTAR BOYS
CARRYING THE CROSS AND THE PROCESSIONAL FANS, LIT
CANDLES AND THE CENSER.
AFTER RECITING CERTAIN PRAYERS
BEFORE THE ROYAL GATES, THE PRIEST
ENTERS THE SANCTUARY THROUGH THE
ROYAL GATES.
HE PLACES THE HOLY GIFTS UPON THE
ALTAR, WHICH SYMBOLISES OUR
LORD’S TOMB, AND AFTER REMOVING
THE SMALL VEILS, HE COVERS THE
HOLY GIFTS WITH THE AER. THIS COVERING RECALLS THE BURIAL OF
OUR LORD.
Down from the Tree Joseph, a Godly man, took Thy Most Pure Body, and wound it in
linen with the spices, and laid and closed it in a new Sepulchre.
