What is the KBA?Each year about 10 books for grades 6-8 are nominated by Teachers and Library Media Specialists across the state.The selected books are chosen carefully to ensure a wide variety of topics and genres to appeal to middle school students.Students at each school vote for their favorites and the results are sent to the Kentucky Reading Association by April 1st.The state-wide winner is then chosen.Why should students participate?The KBA promotes reading.Students are exposed to various genres.Students use critical thinking skills to assess the books.Students can give feedback and opinions.The nominees areEerie, gruesomehumorous too?
