2011 TORONTO BLUE JAYSSEASON IN REVIEW
WHERE WE STACKED UP:The Blue Jays nished the 2011 season with a record of81-81 (.500), ranking 4th in the AL East... Finished 16.0games back of the 1st place New York Yankees (97-65)...This was the rst time in Club history that the Blue Jays
have nished the season with a even .500 record... TheBlue Jays have now been at .500 or better for ve of thelast six seasons... The Jays spent 143 of 184 days of theseason in 4th place... The Blue Jays hit .249 placing 10thin the AL, scored 743 runs which was 5th in the AL and 186HR which was also 5th in the AL... The Blue Jays pitchedto a 4.32 ERA which was 11th in the AL and were 5th instrikeouts (1169)... The Blue Jays relievers led the AL inwins with 30.
ON THE HOMEFRONT:The Blue Jays nished with a 42-39 record at RogersCentre... This was the Blue Jays 7th consecutive winningseason at home and have gone 320-244 (.567) over that
stretch... The Blue Jays hit 103 home runs at home whichwas 4th in the AL and were 5th in runs with 387... The BlueJays played to a 23-17 (.575) record at home in the secondhalf of the season... The Blue Jays were 19-17 at home vs.AL East rivals.
ON THE ROAD:The Blue Jays posted a 39-42 record on the road and re-corded their 8th consecutive losing season on the roadposting a record of 284-366 (.437) over that timeframe...Finished the rst half of the season with a 26-25 record onthe road... The Blue Jays were led offensively on the roadby Jose Bautista who led the AL in HR (23), BB (67) andSLG (.607)... Posted a winning record in just four of their13 roadtrips and had four other trips where they posteda .500 record.
COME ON IN:The Blue Jays nished the season with a nal attendanceof 1,818,103 for an average of 22,446 per game... The to-tal was 10th in the AL... The 2011 total was the highestnumber since 2009 (1,876,129)... The Blue Jays had twosellouts with those coming on April 1st vs. MIN (OpeningDay) and July 31st vs. TEX (Roberto Alomar number retire-ment)... The largest crowd of the season was the homeopener April 1st at 47,984... The Blue Jays had ve crowdsof at least 40,000 in attendance this year up from one in2010.

OF Jose Bautista and LHP Ricky Romero were the two Blue Jays to be named to the AL All-Star team.
Bautista was named to his 2nd All-Star game and was voted as a starter for the 1st time... Bautista led the entire ML andset an all-time record with 7,454,753 votes, topping Ken Griffey Jr.s record of 6,069,688 in 1994... Bautista started in RFand hit 4th for the AL going 1-2 and made a great sliding catch in the right eld corner.
Romero was named to his 1st All-Star game a replacement for C.C. Sabathia who was unable to pitch... Romero did notget into the game.
Jose Bautista was named AL player of the Month for the Month of April and May which was a run of 4 Player of the Monthaward over the last ve months (also July and August 2010)... In April Jose hit .366 (30-for-82) with ve doubles, nine homeruns, 15 RBI and 28 walks in 24 games... In May, Bautista hit .360 (31-for-86) with four double, 11 home runs, 23 RBI and18 walks in 23 games... Jose was also named AL Player of the week (June 27-July 3) for the 4th time in his career... Bautistahit .391 (9-for-23) with three doubles, four home runs and eight RBI in seven games.
Ricky Romero was named AL Pitcher of the Month for the month of August becoming the rst Blue Jays pitcher to win theaward since Roy Halladay (April 2007)... In August Romero posted a 5-0 record and a 2.05 ERA (44.0IP/10ER) with oneshutout on August 18 at OAK... Ricky was also named AL Player of the Week (August 1-7) and over that week he made twostarts going 2-0 with a 1.69 ERA (16.0IP/3ER) and allowed just ve hits over his two starts.
